Hotels near Kim Koo Museum, Seoul

Naru hostel runs on a self check in basis. Our room was at the top of a very narrow staircase on the laundry floor. Though humid, once the air con was on it was okay. The laundry was free between 8am-10pm which was a nice touch. Small fridge also in the room. The room itself was quite cramped, two small single beds separated by the fridge width. The blankets and pillows appeared clean however were not a quilt/duvet type which may be more difficult to wash as they were more the decorative type. Maybe a sheet would be more practical? The towels for the bathroom were no bigger than a small facial flannel which was a little impractical when drying. The bathroom was a decent size but the setup of the shower head coming from the sink tap was impractical as only hot water could come out the tap, and the shower head often spurted out water over our heads when using the sink. The location was good- 5 mins to the metro station meaning only a 10-15 minute trip to the bustling myeongdong area. We would stay again based on value for money in Seoul.

My friend and I arrived at the hotel much earlier than the check-in time, but the staff still served us willingly and provided luggage storage. The housekeeping service was good. All the staff were happy to help and always greeted us with smiles. The hotel’s location is perfect—right next to the subway station—so we could easily take the train to tourist attractions.

The Seoul Garden Hotel is a convenient and hassle-free choice overall. Getting here from the airport is smooth and the travel time is quite reasonable, making it ideal for first-time visitors to Seoul or those with tight schedules. The hotel's surroundings offer excellent amenities; there are plenty of dining options, and both subway and bus stops are nearby. You'll also find numerous convenience stores and cafes, and an Olive Young right across the street, which is super handy for restocking essentials. I highly recommend checking out the Ttwa-dong area nearby for food – it seems to be a local favorite for gatherings, with few tourists and a lively atmosphere. We had a fantastic potato pork rib soup there. Also, the Jangsoo Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) restaurant on B1 of the office building across from the hotel is worth recommending; the service was excellent. The hotel itself is decent and standard. There are quite a few guests, so you might have to wait a bit for the elevators during peak hours. The rooms aren't huge, but they are fully equipped, especially with convenient charging ports, so you likely won't need to bring your own adapter. Overall, it's a practical hotel that excels in its location and convenience.

Cons: 1. Staying on the fourth floor, right outside the elevator is the swimming pool. The chlorine and disinfectant smell from the pool was really unpleasant and strong. I think other floors should be fine though. 2. My room, 416, was a corner unit, so when I opened the curtains, I could see the road. The glass insulation wasn't great, and I could clearly hear the car noise from outside! The room layout was irregular, and the bed faced a mirror at an angle. 3. There are no outlets by the bedside table!!! There are outlets on the desk though, no need for an adapter 😂 Pros: 🥰 Super convenient for going to the airport! The airport line to Gongdeok Station only takes an hour. 😍 The hotel is right above the subway, making travel incredibly convenient. You can reach various shopping areas, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and more within 25 minutes. The hotel's B1 level connects directly to the subway, so you don't even need to go outside. 😝 There's a Lotte Supermarket on the hotel's B1 level, and a large E-Mart (like a Korean Sam's Club, a huge supermarket where locals shop, with all sorts of food, daily necessities, and fruits – and you can get tax refunds!) is about 300 meters away. Sushi and fried chicken often go on sale after about 9 PM, usually around 30% off. 🤩 There are tons of great places to eat near the hotel. I highly recommend the Seolleongtang (ox bone soup)! I ate it for three mornings straight! The radishes at the restaurant were incredibly delicious! 😊 There are four Olive Young stores near the hotel! Perfect for restocking! You can just buy everything and bring it straight back to the hotel, freeing up your hands. 🤗 The room cleaning was excellent. The hotel provides shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, and hand soap. The toiletries smell amazing!!! And the quality is good too. I really want to buy the same products to take home. The bathroom is spacious with a bathtub and a bidet toilet! 😇 The front desk service was also very good, although there was no Chinese service. For me, with decent English, communication wasn't a big problem. You need to swipe a Visa card when checking in. All in all, I'll likely stay here again next time, but I'll definitely choose a room not on the fourth floor and not facing the road!

The room that I checked in is not even close to the room that I booked (deluxe double room). Staff said every deluxe double room is different but completely different from what they posted and can’t change it due to all full. But everything else is pretty good. Cleanliness and location are great. Subway station(Line 4) are 10 minutes away by walking.

Room is cozy and comfortable Cause its winter session now , hotel is didn’t provide cold aircond, which is only can choose warm/ wind , but they are good service and provide me a high floor , and the window can slightly open to get some fresh air (Korea whether on that day is 20c) , it’s better then nothing Good location , opposite of hotel have a lot of restaurant and also walking distance to train station

Extremely satisfied! The overall ambiance has a very Japanese feel. After a long day of sightseeing, it was great to come back and relax in the bathtub. It's not particularly close to Gongdeok Station, probably a 10-15 minute walk, but it's closer to Mapo. If you're traveling by bus, it's super convenient as there's a bus stop right downstairs. Plus, there's a Twosome Place, Olive Young, McDonald's, and Starbucks right below, and a food street with lots of dining options just across the road.

Since it was just opened, I searched for it on Naver Maps or Kakao Maps and it didn't come up, so I was worried it might actually be there, but it turned out fine! There was no floor guide on the website, so just to clarify, there is a kiosk on the 4th floor where you can check in, receive your room number and go to your room. The elevator goes up to the 5th floor, and there is a common space on the 6th floor where you can enjoy a cafe corner, ramen, and other services. The microwave was broken so I couldn't heat up my tteokbokki, which was disappointing 😭 The room was clean and had a refrigerator and table, so I had a comfortable stay!

This hotel really exceeded my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I experienced thoughtful service. The front desk attendant was not only very friendly but also proactively upgraded our room. The room was super clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the view outside the window was absolutely stunning. The biggest surprise was coming back in the evening to find sleep-aid milk and a handwritten note by the bedside – the attention to detail was perfect! The breakfast had a wide variety, and the local specialty snacks were very authentic. They even gave us a small souvenir when we checked out. There wasn't a single unpleasant moment during our entire stay. Next time I visit this city, I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it to my friends!

Pros: A staff member was always around (even if in the back of reception), spoke good English and gave us a pouch of amenities. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Big smart tv. They had underfloor heating. Unlimited water bottles. I think there was a coffee machine by reception too. We were impressed by how clean it was. Cons: The space was a bit limited for 2 people, but we opened one of the suitcases on the sofa. There was only 1 big towel in the room, but the 2 smaller ones were still sufficient. Only 1 key card to share. Despite initial worries because the price seemed too good to be true, there were no downsides. Pretty good value for money overall. We were worried it was a love motel but it was not the case. The alleyway wasn't bad or scary if you are walking from the main road, so I recommend that route if anyone was worried from other reviews. Make sure you copy the hangul/korean name of the hotel for maps/uber. It was a good hotel to stay at coming from Gimpo airport late night. Managed to order food delivery on baemin too :)
