Hotels near Namdaemun Gate, Seoul

It was super clean! There were already a few towels in the room, but they also said we could grab more from the front desk, so we never ran out of towels. Leaving our luggage at the unstaffed front desk felt a bit nerve-wracking, but it was fine in the end, haha. If you need to ask the front desk anything, you can just call them. They spoke Japanese, so it's a great option even if you don't speak Korean!

The room that I checked in is not even close to the room that I booked (deluxe double room). Staff said every deluxe double room is different but completely different from what they posted and can’t change it due to all full. But everything else is pretty good. Cleanliness and location are great. Subway station(Line 4) are 10 minutes away by walking.

Nice hotel in a good location with easily accessible train stations and close to Myeongdong shopping area. Room with very spacious and had the most comfotable beds of all the hotels on our trip. The receptionist/owner(?) was a man of few words but assisted us with any issues right away.

The hotel is new and very photogenic, and the breakfast is excellent value for money with beautiful views. What impressed me most was the incredibly helpful staff. We left something at our previous hotel, and the staff, who spoke fluent English, seamlessly communicated with the old hotel and helped us retrieve our lost item. A big thank you to Phillip and the lady at the front desk who was on duty on the evening of the 22nd! The only minor drawback was that the bed was a bit too soft for my liking.

Great stay! We had a room on the 10th floor with an incredible view — definitely a highlight. The room was cleaned daily and towels were changed every day, which we really appreciated. The location is very convenient, about a 10-minute walk to the main market, and Metro Line 1 connects you easily to the rest of the city. The service was good, and the front desk staff spoke English. For the price we paid, I recommend it 10000%!

The location is excellent. Namsan Market is right across the street, Lotte Department Store and Duty-Free Shop are just a block to the left, and Shinsegae Department Store and Duty-Free Shop are diagonally across the street. Myeongdong shopping street is located between the two department stores. Gyeongbokgung Palace is within 3 km, and N Seoul Tower is also very close. For dining, just turn left and then left again from the hotel exit, and you'll find a street with local restaurants. However, the service is very basic. Disposable items in Korea are charged separately, and the toilet and shower are combined in one space. The wardrobe is inside a garment care machine, and detergent for the drum washing machine needs to be purchased extra. Luggage storage is in lockers in the basement, costing 10,000 Korean Won for over 4 hours with a progressive rate. There's no breakfast, and although there's a Chinese restaurant next door offering a 13,800 won set meal, no one seems to eat there. Guests are diverse, with a majority being Chinese. Rooms facing the street are relatively quiet, but the single beds are a bit small. Communication with the front desk in English was seamless.

Very convenient location, right next to Seoul station and easy to get to. I probably would not stay again, it seemed a little expensive for the quality. The bed and pillows were extremely hard and uncomfortable and I had difficulty sleeping. You could definitely find something better

The owner is an incredibly, incredibly, incredibly wonderful person! First, let's talk about the location: It's super easy to find. The bus goes directly to Dongdaemun Park, and you can see the hotel building as soon as you get off. The transportation is so convenient, you could find it with your eyes closed! Whether you speak Korean or not, traveling alone or with a companion, everyone will find it effortlessly! Next, let's talk about the environment: The room is absolutely spotless!!! The owner is a man, but he's incredibly meticulous. The decor is very cozy and warm. Lying in bed, you truly feel a sense of happiness. In Dongdaemun, for this price, the quality of the accommodation speaks for itself. Finally, about the owner: This is my first time writing such a long review on Trip.com, and I'm genuinely touched this time. From the night before I checked in, I added the owner on WeChat. From giving detailed transportation directions (both bus and subway) to the hotel's location, everything was explained perfectly. He sent a map of the hotel's location and videos guiding me with nearby landmarks. The owner works very hard; he's Chinese~ To keep prices low, he doesn't hire staff to clean the rooms; he does it all himself. I came during Christmas, and the owner even gave me a small gift. He's very enthusiastic. Even when I called him late at night for help, he never turned me down π_π This place is truly excellent. I highly, highly recommend it!

I spent only one night in Seoul and for me the room was very cozy, clean and warm ✨ check-in and checkout was super easy 👍🏼 you can communicate in English and chinese with the receptionist. By the way... 👇🏽 I wanna say THANKS to him ( the receptionist) that helped me to find my luggage that I left in the Uber car that night. Wish they could have an overall 5 star rating and I will have rated it 5!! Booked the deluxe queen room and the hotel kindly accommodated my requirements for a quiet room so they did give me as best the quietest room at a corner between the roads. It was very very spacious and well kept but what made it Above 5 stars was , the last night I stayed, there was noise coming from one of the neighboring rooms. The front desk helped to arrange an alternative room at 1am (of course thankfully it wasn’t the peak season) but also helped to speak to the guest because I went back to my original room and it became quieter. Finally on check out, as I collected my luggage, a front desk officer ran out to gift me a bag of drinks and coookies to apologize for the noise! Wow, I have just recently travelled to Tokyo and in contrast had a poor and rude experience from the front desk and that hotel was like a 4.5 stars and Japanese were suppsed to be a lot more service oriented? Anyway, to not digress, prior to this, the front desk was always helpful with directions and spoke perfect english. I will highly recommend staying here and coming back again.
