The location of the hotel is extremely convenient, just one subway stop away from both Hongdae and Myeongdong, which made getting around the city very easy. Right across the street from the hotel is a true food paradise, offering a wide variety of dining options. Every place we tried had excellent service, which really added to the overall experience.
I also really enjoyed the view from the hotel, which made our stay even more pleasant and relaxing. The hotel service itself was outstanding. We arrived early in the morning, around 10 a.m., and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. They allowed us to check in shortly after arrival without any extra fees or complications, which we truly appreciated after a long trip.
Overall, the combination of location, nearby food options, great views, and exceptional service made this stay very enjoyable.

Traveling with kids means location, transport, and dining options, catering to both crowds and quiet spots, are all key considerations. First off, the location was perfect – the airport shuttle drops you right at the hotel, just across the street. We noticed fewer Chinese guests and more European and American visitors. Right opposite the hotel, there's Olive Young, McDonald's, and a fried chicken joint. To the left and right of the hotel entrance, you'll find a 7-Eleven on each side. The streets behind the hotel are packed with restaurants. Just about 200 meters to the left of the hotel entrance is Mapo Subway Station, which is only one stop from Yeouido Department Store – super convenient. If you head right from the hotel, you'll reach Gongdeok Subway Station, where you can find the popular Egg Drop sandwiches, which are a great value for breakfast. The hotel doesn't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste, so it's a good idea to bring your own set. If you forget, there's a machine on the first floor where you can buy them. For your return journey, you can catch the airport shuttle to the airport right in front of the McDonald's opposite the hotel. You can buy tickets on-site by scanning a QR code or paying with cash. Highly recommend this hotel for families with children.

Located at exit 2 of Gongdeok station with escalator/lift access. Shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and lotion were very fragrant. Bathroom slippers were changed daily. Would be good if vanity kit (facial cotton and ear buds) and sugar/creamer/stirrer could be provided. Pillows were very soft and the hotel uses Simmons mattress. The furniture a bit old. The aircon system was quite confusing at first as it auto off when reached a temperature. Thereafter, it will auto on again. At times, there’s no air circulation. Room prices are on the high side.

Excellent Stay at Roynet Hotel Mapo — Great Location & Wonderful Upgrade!
We had a fantastic stay at Roynet Hotel Mapo during our family trip to Seoul. The location near Mapo/Gongdeok station is absolutely perfect — easy access to the subway made exploring the city effortless, from Gyeongbokgung Palace to Hongdae and Myeongdong.
We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a Premium Room, which was spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable for our family of four. The room was spotlessly clean with modern amenities and a lovely view.
The highlight was access to the Executive Lounge — a wonderful bonus that we truly appreciated. The lounge offered a relaxed atmosphere, great refreshments, and attentive service. It made our mornings and evenings so much more enjoyable, especially with two kids in tow!
The staff throughout were warm, professional and incredibly helpful — nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast spread was impressive with a good variety of Korean and Western options.
Mapo is a great neighbourhood — safe, vibrant and full of great dining options just steps from the hotel.
Would highly recommend Roynet Hotel Mapo for families visiting Seoul. We will definitely be back! 🇰🇷

Disappointing and Unwelcoming Customer Service
I was very excited to visit, but the customer service completely ruined the experience. The staff displayed an incredibly impersonal and cold attitude. There were no smiles, no welcoming greetings, and they seemed deeply annoyed when asked a simple question due to the language barrier. It felt like a very transactional interaction where foreigners are tolerated rather than welcomed. I noticed local customers received much better, more attentive service. Any celeration birthday or ceremony, dont select this hotel, nopersonal, front desk unwelcome attitude, poker-face, no service. hotel will NOT care about your request, always say follow policy. late check out after 11.00, hotel penality.

The location of this hotel is such a big win. It’s literally just across the Yongsan station and just nearby Sinyongsan station too. I love the service and the hospitality of the staff!
The room is great for a solo traveler like me. It’s a plus point that they gave me a view of the Hybe building (cause I’m a BTS Army!)
Had a lovely stay here and I’ll definitely come back!

Nice location just 3 min to Sinchon metro station. Across the street is the university area with lots of good food with reasonable prices. Many youngsters around and make the place very lively and nice to stroll around. Room is reasonably good enough for 2 persons. The only flaw is probably the shower tap which is a bit difficult to control the hot water, that it get cold and hot water halfway unexpectedly. But it is only the minor flaw compared to all the good things
Recommended.
Featuring 196 guestrooms, the hotel is built sustainably. The tranquility of the rooms with their modern design, as well as the infinity pool and indoor swimming pool, the creative French dining restaurant and lounge bar, along with the contemporary art pieces, will enchant guests. From our 20th-floor lobby, take in the serene poetry of the softly glowing Han River and the lush Bamseom under the tranquil night sky, a gift of nature's calm. Welcome to Hotel Naru Seoul - MGallery.

The room facilities are quite new and well-equipped. The power outlets in the room don't require an adapter and there are USB ports for charging. There's also a universal charging cable with a three-pin plug, which is very convenient. The hotel's outdoor pool is heated, and you can see the Han River from it. The cleanliness is excellent. The room offers a great view of the Han River and it's only a 5-minute walk from Line 5 of the subway, which is incredibly convenient. There's also a 7-Eleven downstairs, making it easy to grab necessities. Since it's not a commercial area, it's quite peaceful. The service attitude is excellent, much better than the restaurant service in Seoul. Given that it was cherry blossom season and there was a concert, the price of 2000+ was really good value for money at that time. Highly recommended. The toiletries cost 1000 KRW per use, which is reasonable.

The environment here is pretty good. It's right next to Yongsan Subway Station, and IPARKMALL is downstairs, so it's super convenient for taking the subway, eating, and shopping. I blindly picked this hotel myself, and I'd say it's similar to Atour Light hotels in China. There's a gym, but laundry, swimming, and parking all cost extra. Since it was the May Day holiday, the accommodation price was a bit high. We stayed on a higher floor and could see Namsan Tower from our window. Overall, both my child and I were quite satisfied. Just a heads-up, you'll need to transfer subway lines to get from Yongsan to Myeongdong or Gangnam. We didn't eat at the hotel, so I can't comment on the restaurant.

Whenever I visit Seoul, I always stay here. The hotel has a direct indoor walkway to Yongsan Station, so you don't have to worry about getting wet on rainy days. It's also incredibly convenient for getting to Myeongdong, Yeouido, and Itaewon. I stayed in a high-floor room with views of Namsan Tower and the Han River. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom were a huge plus. The front desk staff communicated smoothly, were polite and efficient. If you arrive early, they can hold your room for you, and you can store your luggage and head out to explore!

GGuest UserThis hotel's location is absolutely perfect! It's right by the Hongdae subway station, and downstairs you'll find Olive Young, Adidas, and Musinsa. It's truly in the heart of Hongdae, the 'universe center.' You can also tell it's popular with international guests because they provide universal power adapters, disposable slippers, and even a capsule coffee machine. Aside from the room and bed being a bit small, everything else was 100% perfect. I'm so satisfied!
GGuest UserTraveling during the May Day holiday, prices were inflated, and after comparing a few options, I felt Nine Tree offered the best value for money. I stayed for 4 nights and saved almost 2000 KRW compared to staying in Mapo, which I then used for taxis – a good deal.
The hotel is quite close to Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village. For other destinations, we took taxis. A taxi to Myeongdong was only about 10-odd thousand won, so taxis in Korea weren't as expensive as I imagined.
The surrounding area is very quiet, giving off a vibe of a developed place that's also peaceful. Jogyesa Temple is right across the street, and Insadong is nearby.
There were many foreigners staying here.
The service, facilities, and cleanliness were all good.
My only minor complaint was that the duvet cover felt a bit stiff and crinkled loudly. Also, the windows couldn't be opened, making the room feel a bit dry.
YYuenahezhujishiI've stayed at this hotel in Kyoto before and wanted to see if the Seoul branch had the same great environment, but there's a noticeable difference. The air conditioning was simply unacceptable; it was so hot! The AC system is clearly outdated and couldn't regulate the temperature. Even with outside temperatures at -5 degrees Celsius, I was sweating in a short-sleeved shirt and couldn't sleep. The breakfast was pretty much the same every day and quite mediocre. It's fine for a day or two if you're in a pinch, but having it every day at the hotel was a bit much for me. ☹️
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent. It's very close to Sinsa Subway Station, and if you stick to the main road, there's no steep hill like some photos online might suggest.
It's right next to Seoul Forest, and you can walk to Apgujeong in about 10-15 minutes. There's also a three-story Olive Young just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, which is super convenient! While the rooms aren't huge, the soundproofing is pretty good, and the shower water pressure is absolutely fantastic!
If you stay here, definitely make sure to check out the cafe on the top floor – the views are amazing. Overall, highly recommend. (Pics 1 & 2: Hotel rooftop cafe/bar. Pics 3 & 4: Views from the room)
GGuest UserMy stay at HOTEL BOTANIK's Deluxe King Room in Myeongdong exceeded my expectations. The room had a modern, apartment-style feel with brand new facilities and full amenities, making it ideal for those planning a longer stay in Seoul.
The in-room amenities were definitely the highlight. The air conditioning had a control panel for temperature adjustment, and it came equipped with an AirDresser, a washer-dryer combo, a separate fridge and freezer, an induction hob, and a microwave oven. Inside the cabinets, there was even a wine cooler, wine glasses, and mugs, giving it the feel of a small boutique apartment. Charging was also convenient, with both USB and Type-C outlets available, and the bidet toilet had a full range of functions. The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation design, and the water pressure was consistent, making for a very comfortable shower.
However, there were a few things to note:
The kitchenware provided was quite basic, with only two plates, which might be insufficient if you plan to do a lot of cooking. Also, laundry detergent wasn't provided in the room, but you could purchase it at the front desk if needed.
There are several construction sites near the hotel, but surprisingly, the soundproofing was excellent during my stay, with no noticeable noise at night. My sleep quality was quite peaceful.
Overall, this hotel is more of a ”high-functional type” accommodation. The facilities are new and highly practical, feeling more like staying in a well-designed apartment than a traditional hotel. It made for a very comfortable stay.
GGuest UserThe room was comfy and there was bidet available. The location was strategic, near convenience store and you can easily find restaurant, good coffee shop, and also access to MRT. There was washing machine in the room and you can buy the detergent at GS25 at the lobby area. The minus point was the space on the service area is narrow and you have to bring your luggage downstair and believe me It was really hard to bring big luggage from downstair because the stair space was also narrow.
MMattyFThe room is small and a little boring but you’re paying for the location, and it’s comfortable and clean. There’s a good beer bar, Seoulista, on the ground floor. There’s is an aerial walkway connected, which goes to Seoul Station. You can also use the metro Exit 7 (I think) but it will charge you just for walking through if you are coming from the AirPort Express. The breakfast arrangements are quite eccentric, but I had a good breakfast.
GGuest UserThe microwave in the lobby and the spacious room were great. There was plenty of space, so even with two of us, we didn't feel cramped with our luggage. The staff were super friendly and wonderful! We stayed for two nights with my friend and had a peaceful stay without any noise or issues.
ほほのりんI'm Japanese! I stayed here with my mother. The front entrance was straight ahead from Myeongdong Exit 5, on the right side. The bathroom had a shower and toilet together, but there was a shower curtain so no water splashed onto the toilet. The location was great and it was affordable, so I'd love to stay again!
GGuest UserClean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy.
