We had an absolutely wonderful time at Arima Onsen Goshoboh.
The room was very spacious with all the amenities you could need, and it was such a great touch having two massage chairs in the room!
Dinner and traditional kaiseki breakfast were quite unique - some of the dishes were a bit too specific for our taste and we didn't try everything, but it was still an interesting culinary experience overall.
What really stood out was the honeymoon surprise at dinner - a beautifully presented dessert with a flame that revealed a flower, with cute little figurines inside. They even let us keep them as a souvenir! Such a thoughtful and memorable touch.
At the end of our stay, the hotel kindly drove us to the bus stop, which was a really nice gesture.
Overall a fantastic experience - we'd love to come back again!

Guest UserThe hotel is easy to find, right next to the Nanjing Ding plaque. The alleyways nearby are full of food options, which is very convenient. The front desk staff speak both English and Chinese, so communication was not an issue at all. The hot spring has long opening hours, and there's a washer and dryer available, so you can check from your room when it's free before heading down. I've stayed at Dormy Inn several times, and I personally feel that as long as the location suits your needs, you can book blindly without worrying about a bad experience.

Food was great and Eri-san was very friendly and helpful.
The room was really clean and love the private onsen with amazing view. I love how attentive Eri-san was as well, the timing in which the next meal came was impeccable, allowing me to enjoy the food thoroughly.
Other ryokans I have stayed before (despite being more expensive), the breaks between the food served was very short and it felt like I was rushing to eat.
The outdoor hotspring bath was great and perfect for people who cannot stand too high temperatures.
Unfortunately, when we wanted to dip in Gekkoen's more traditional and older outdoor hotspring, it was being cleaned. Would love to try dipping in it the next time we visit again.

Guest UserThe double room was quite a bit more expensive than the king room, but it was very spacious and clean inside, truly comfortable 👍 The front desk is on the second floor, and there's a lounge next to it. It seems like they offer free snacks in the afternoon, but we didn't get to try them.
The location isn't far from Sannomiya Station, but it felt like a maze around there 😵💫 Plus, with the skybridge under construction, several directions were blocked, so it took us ages to find our way in and out every time 🙃 And we had to go up and down that complicated skybridge—maybe I'm just bad with directions… It's about a 10-minute walk to the airport bus stop, which isn't super convenient if you're hauling luggage.

WohewodejiarenReturning to the Sannomiya Grand Hotel in Kobe from Nagasaki was an absolute dream! All the fatigue from my long journey simply melted away. The room was quiet and cozy, and the bedding was so soft and comfortable that I slept like a baby. In the morning, I enjoyed a leisurely and hearty breakfast buffet with a great selection of both Japanese and Western dishes – every bite was delicious. The hotel's location is perfect, with easy access to transportation, and the service is incredibly attentive. This is already my fifth or sixth time staying here, and it's definitely my top choice when I come to Kobe! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay. ✨

Anonymous UserThe location is super convenient, just a 2-minute walk from JR Sannomiya Station East Exit. Hankyu/Hanshin electric trains, city subway, and Port Liner are all within a 5-minute walk. The direct bus stop for Kansai Airport and Itami Airport is right across from the hotel, so you don't have to drag your luggage far after landing. It's a quick 20-minute ride to Osaka Umeda and 40 minutes to Kyoto, making day trips a breeze. The self-service breakfast offers both Japanese and Western options, including Kobe specialty bread, Japanese side dishes, and fresh fruit. Vegetarian and gluten-free meals are also available, offering great value for money. There's a Lawson convenience store right by the entrance on the ground floor and a large supermarket next door, making it super easy to buy water, snacks, simple meals, and even cosmetics morning and night. The room type is comfortable, clean, and well-organized. Compared to other business hotels in similar locations in Japan, the room space is quite generous. Overall, I'm very satisfied and will definitely stay here again.

The location is excellent, just a 10-minute walk from the JR subway station and less than a 5-minute walk from Hanamae Station. It's right across from the City Hall, making it easy to reach the City Hall observation deck for a panoramic view of Kobe.
Self-service check-in and check-out were available. I booked different room types for two nights, and the receptionist helped me change them to the same room for consecutive nights, so I didn't have to change rooms or move my luggage – I was so happy!
The breakfasts were different each day and very plentiful. There was no queue when I went to eat around 7 am, and they even offered food to take back to my room.
Luggage can be stored at the front desk.

Guest UserExtremely disappointed. The onsen (hot spring) was tiny, and the steps inside were uncomfortably high. They also offered very few amenities. For dinner, as a small woman, I only felt about 80% full, and there were very few extra items available to order. Apart from the front desk staff, most employees only spoke Japanese, which made communication a bit difficult, but everyone was very friendly. The pillows and blankets were incredibly uncomfortable. I tried all three in the closet, and they were still bad; I even woke up with a stiff neck. The blanket was incredibly thick, and I woke up in a sweat in the middle of the night. The most ridiculous thing was that construction started outside at 8:30 AM... I can't believe a resort onsen hotel can't escape the noise. The hotel seems to be the furthest one in the area. I walked there, and thankfully the weather was good and the scenery along the way was nice. The shuttle bus is too small; after checking out at 10 AM, I had to wait until the 10:40 AM service. But it's too far to walk, so I had to take it anyway...

The hotel is located right next to the newly opened shopping street, very close to Hankyu Hanshin train station. I saw some reviews mentioning it's a bit far from the subway station. The room, although small, was well-equipped and very good.
