The room was indeed quite small, which was a surprise given this was one of my 10+ trips to Japan. I specifically chose this hotel because it was recommended as a 'premium' option on Ctrip. The only real upside is the location, which is excellent, but the value for money isn't great if that's all you're considering. I initially thought the hotel's three eco-friendly cleaning policies were commendable. On the first day, I opted for just a towel change. However, on the second day, I clearly selected the full room cleaning option, but when I returned to the hotel after 7 PM, I found the room hadn't been cleaned at all, and the trash bags hadn't been replaced. It was completely overlooked. When I called the front desk, they said they were off-duty and could only replace towels and provide bottled water. We checked out the next day anyway.

The triple room was quite spacious and very quiet. The front desk service was also good. The location is excellent, very convenient for getting around, with Hakata Station right across the street. If you turn right out of the hotel and walk for about 5 minutes, you'll reach the Chikushi-guchi entrance to the subway station. The only thing is that the hotel just changed its name, so many drivers don't know it, and you might need to explain when taking a taxi. Also, be careful not to confuse the address, as it's a chain hotel.

Like all the other reviews here, Forza’s location can’t be beaten. Its literally less than 1 min walk from the airport bus stop. The popular Hakata Station is also within a minute walk. The location alone earns the hotel a 5 star. Checking in and out of hotel was also an ease. The staff at the counter was helpful and friendly. A bag of toiletries was also prepared for my 8 yr old with kiddy slippers, which was much appreciated. The room was decent size, we chose the 豪華雙人房 (19 sq m I think?) with a mini couch area – perfect for backpacks, a window, and a portable massage mat. I loved the magnets that we can stick to the door to let the cleaners know whether or not our room needs to be cleaned. What’s more is that there is an option to choose “Take out trash and change towels only”. This is a really thoughtful option, because we really don’t need our room to be made up every day. And it’s perfect that we can just have the trash taken out and towels changed. I was a bit nervous about the cleanliness of the hotel rooms after reading some of the reviews on here, especially when I have a kid with me. I don’t want her to get sick from the germs in the room. But to my surprise, the room was quite decent, atleast I didn’t see any visible dustballs or dirty air con ventilators. Maybe because the hotel already took action to clean all the rooms and air con vents after reading some of the reviews here about dirty air con vents? I took a photo of our room air con vents for parents to take a look =) The air purifier in the room was also very comforting. We stayed in Forza for 6 days and none of us got sick =D For the first 2 days, I did smell a bit of a urine smell when you kneel close to the carpet/toilet. It was a slight faint smell. By the 3rd day, there wasn’t much noticeable smell anymore, not sure if it was the air purifier that helped or if we got use to it. Hahaha. On one of the nights that we returned to the hotel, we noticed that the cleaners had forgotten to put a trash bag back into the trash can. So I called reception and told them. The suited man that came with a trash bag didn’t seem too friendly. He looked like he either didn’t want to be there, didn’t know what he needed to do, or that we are trying to cheat him of a plastic bag. Anyway, I had to explain that I need a trash bag because I didn’t want to make the trash can dirty. I even had to SHOW him the trash can to convince him why I needed a bag. When he finally saw the empty trash can, he gave us a plastic bag, and left an extra one inside the trash can. He didn’t seem too pleased that I was trying to help protect the hotel’s assets, he just looks as if I disturbed his night. The shower head took some time to get use to too. Normally shower heads will be placed at a slight angle, but the shower heads in our room shoots straight at a 90 degree angle, which was quite hard to use coz the water will be shooting directly at your chest, and you would need to kneel down a bit to wash your hair, otherwise you would need to hold the shower head with one hand, while washing with the other hand. It’s a bit hard to explain, so I took some photos to show. But you will know what I mean when you stay at the hotel. Anyway, overall the stay was still very pleasant. I will definitely choose Forza again the next time I visit Fukuoka. Thank you Forza.

17min walk from Hakata JR station or 15min walk from Gion subway station (Exit-5), walk Giono Street & pass by the famous FUKUOKA RAMEN :). As you arrive, you are away from street noise and crowds, facing a tranquil ‘Naka’ river. Lucky us we got Blue blue skies! The pinnacle in AUTOMATION!! You get an email with all instructions on how to enter building, room operations all in English and detailed (Japan). Freezing, but soon the aircon was set for 25°C we were comfortable. Everything clean and in its place. Beds & pillows comfortable and clean. TV local channels immerses you into the Japanese cult….. ‘honto’ Canal City Hakata is 5min walk. They have everything from food, restaurants, ATMs, games area. We liked it very much.

The hotel's location is a bit of a walk from Hakata Station, taking over ten minutes on foot, which isn't ideal if you're traveling with luggage. The room temperature was on the high side, feeling quite warm, and we had to pull out the key card at night to cut the power just to get some relief. During our stay, the bed linens were only changed once proactively; extra changes required booking a day in advance. Breakfast variety and quality were pretty average. Overall, it was an unremarkable experience without many surprises. Proceed with caution.

Pros: 1. The location is super convenient, just about a five-minute walk from the Hakata subway station. 2. The bedding is really comfortable, there's a massage device, they provide mineral water daily, and housekeeping is prompt. The cleaning staff were very polite. 3. Other amenities are also comprehensive; there's a coffee machine on the first floor. Cons: 1. This hotel gets a lot of guests. Maybe they've been spoiled by too many good online reviews. When I checked in, no one paid attention to me and told me to use the machine myself. Only when my passport wouldn't scan did someone come over to take a look, then they rushed me to pay the taxes. The next day, I found an overcharge on my bill. When I went to the front desk for a refund, they told me I had entered the number of guests myself, and that the backend clearly showed how many passports were registered. The booking stated 'up to two people,' but I was actually staying alone. 2. The first room they gave me faced a bunch of machinery when I opened the window. I mentioned I'd be staying for three nights and hoped it wouldn't be too noisy. Then followed a long wait for them to consult, and eventually, they switched me to a slightly better room. 3. There's a male staff member at the front desk with a really bad attitude. 4. Regardless of other hotel services, the basic job is to properly check in guests. Not being able to check me in and then overcharging, plus not even providing the branded key card holder – the brand must be disappointed. 5. The cleaning in the corners wasn't very thorough. There was even a bloodstain on the bathroom door. Housekeeping didn't wipe it, and I was too lazy to mention it; maybe it was intentionally left for guests to see. I'd stayed at this chain in another city before and it was excellent, which is why I chose it again. All I can say is, I'm speechless.

I stayed at this hotel ten years ago and absolutely loved it! When I visited Fukuoka again, I chose it because of its excellent cleanliness, which I'm still very satisfied with. The surrounding area is also convenient for getting around, and it's close to the subway station. However, perhaps due to the current situation, I felt the front desk service has declined significantly compared to a decade ago. There's a lack of warmth, let alone thoroughness. Also, some of the facilities are a bit outdated. Despite that, the hotel rooms are still spotless, thanks to the consistently high quality of the housekeeping staff. Thumbs up for them!

Overall, it's a decent hotel for Hakata. The room had no strange odors. However, the location isn't particularly convenient; it's a bit hard to find unless you exit from Subway Nishi 6, and I didn't spot any very close convenience stores nearby. Its biggest advantage is probably its proximity to Hakata Station and the airport. The room was clean, and the reception staff were friendly.

The room was spacious, and the microwave and bathroom were all new. If you get off at Nakasu Kawabata Station and walk through the shopping street from Exit 5, you won't have to worry about getting wet even on rainy days. There is a walkway through the shopping street to Canal City, so you don't have to cross the traffic lights. There are no clothes to wear in the room, so it's better to bring your own loungewear. There is a washing machine and detergent in the room, and you can dry your clothes in the bathroom. There are a lot of izakayas around, so you can hang out until late at night. You can watch Netflix, U-NEXT, YouTube, and any other subscription service on the large TV if you log in with your own account. When I left the room, I could hear the conversations in the next room, but there were only two rooms on the same floor, and the walls were not attached, so I didn't have to worry about noise. The induction cooker is in the shelf below and there are cooking utensils, so you can buy ingredients and cook them. It was such a good hotel that it was a shame to only stay one night. I would like to stay here again next time.

Perfect location, 7 mins walk from Hakata Station and there is a Family Mart nearby which is super convenient. We bought our breakfast and dessert from Family Mart.  Rooms are spacious and kids friendly (kid slippers and toothbrush were provided. They also provided a baby crib upon request). The brand of high chair in Why Not is stokke! We enjoyed the stay a lot.

Amazing
GGuest UserAfter two unbearable nights in a tiny 14-square-meter hotel, I made a last-minute switch to One Fukuoka. I heard it was the top hotel in Fukuoka, so I wanted to give it a try. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of the Tenjin shopping district. You can step out and immediately start shopping, with Daimaru, PARCO, and Mitsukoshi all within walking distance. As soon as you enter the ONE FUKUOKA BLDG, you're greeted by a subtle, very soothing botanical scent. The hotel is next to an office building, so you need to look for it a bit, then take the elevator up to the 19th floor for check-in. The room is incredibly spacious. Fitting several suitcases isn't an issue, and there's even a dedicated luggage stand inside for organizing your belongings. It has a living room and a terrace directly facing The Ritz-Carlton. With double sinks and a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, what more could you ask for in terms of space in Japan? The hotel is very new, and both the bed and pillows have just the right firmness. The air in the room is fresh; after one night, I didn't get my usual rhinitis, and I even achieved an unprecedented deep sleep of over an hour. Besides the usual amenities, they also provide cotton pads, hair ties, mouthwash, socks, and bath towels. The mini-bar selection is also very rich and completely free – I drank to my heart's content. The only minor flaw I found was a small ring-shaped nail on the carpet, which looked like it might have fallen off a keychain or something similar. It made me feel like the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned, but overall, the cleanliness was acceptable and not dirty. There's a library bar and lounge on the guest room floor, offering unlimited complimentary drinks and desserts (they even have ice cream!). I regretted only staying for one night. The hotel's overall style reminds me a lot of The Sukhothai Shanghai – therapeutic, serene, and natural, but with a slightly more homely feel than Sukhothai. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Fukuoka!

GGuest UserLocation great, subway station is just a stone’s throw away, convenient stores within a minute walk, and even Hakarta Station and malls are only within 18 minutes’ walk along the main road. The popular bakery Full Full Harkata is just kinda opposite to the hotel too. The only drawback is the room that I stayed (Standard Twin rm 1216) has only one window in the bathroom, no window in the bedroom though.

DDayazhouI stayed here for ten days to enjoy the cherry blossoms, witnessing the entire process from their initial bloom to full splendor in Fukuoka. I was extremely pleased with everything, from the hotel lobby to the room, and from the service to the food. It's conveniently located within walking distance of Hakata Station. The cherry blossoms at Tochoji Temple nearby were magnificent when in full bloom (April 202***). The breakfast was particularly delicious, especially the vegetable salad, the made-to-order sashimi rice bowl, and the desserts. Perhaps because the bathroom and washroom were quite spacious, taking up a lot of the area, the 21-square-meter room felt small. We could just about open two small suitcases, but a larger one would have been difficult!

GGuest UserAfter returning to Fukuoka from Beppu, I chose to stay at Hotel Monterey again because it's incredibly convenient, with a subway station right downstairs. Heading towards Tenjin, you'll find various drugstores along the way, leading to Daimaru department store, and then across the street is the Tenjin shopping district. It's all easily accessible on foot. The breakfast was also excellent, with delicious Saga beef. Hot water and tea are available in the lobby, and coffee is offered from afternoon to evening. Plus, the rooms are spacious, making it very easy to pack and unpack luggage.

GGuest UserHad a great experience. Check-in was done via a self-service machine. The front desk was manned by two 'dinosaurs' (a playful way to describe the staff, possibly implying they were a bit slow or old-fashioned, but in a charming way) who could speak four languages. There was a slight hiccup with the booking process as I had reserved two rooms under one order, but a quick call for human assistance resolved it promptly. The space is very efficiently utilized, and all the amenities are from Refa. Luggage storage was super convenient. The shower pressure was excellent, and there are many convenience stores nearby. It's not far from the subway, and you step out right onto the Hakata Canal, which offers a lovely view.
