I stayed for 4 nights and 5 days.
Pros: First of all, it's cheap. It was 50,000 won per night, but that price is actually cheaper than a capsule in the city.
The location is really good. If you have a subway pass, you can easily stop by the accommodation. It's 5 minutes from the subway station.
The photos of the accommodation look a bit like that, but it's actually cleaner than you think. The bathroom is cleaner than my bathroom at home, if you exaggerate a little.
The service is really good and the staff is friendly.
The large public bath is spacious and not many people come in, so it's easy to use.
There are 3 shower rooms on the first floor, but I've never seen 3 of them full.
There's a convenience store and a mart nearby.
Cons: Towels are 150 yen, so you have to pay for them.
You also have to pay for room cleaning. There's nothing else. I really recommend it.

A small note of gratitude to my most favorite accommodation ever đ„ș
I was exhausted after the long flight, but from the very first step into this hostel, I was surrounded by care, hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. I actually have a lot of experience staying in hotels, from 3 to 5 stars, but I have never encountered this level of service. Maybe it's just a Japan thing, but I'm pretty sure I was just very lucky to have chosen this place.
The hostel itself was wonderful. I booked a single room, and despite the compact space, I was completely satisfied. Everything was clean, with a soft big bed, air conditioning, a window, and a tableâmore than enough if you don't plan to stay in the room all day. The common areas were also clean and very comfortable.
But my absolute favorite spot was the 1st floor, thanks of course to the amazing staff.
I'm so grateful to Ai, who became a real friend to me. She was always there to help. And special thanks to Hisashi-san, Matthew, and Anthonyâall of them were incredibly friendly and open to conversation.
I canât wait to stay here again.
Lots of love,
Mari

Transportation: It's right next to JR Mikawashima Station, about a 12-minute walk to Tokyo Metro Nippori. The nearest convenience store is 7-Eleven.
Room: I only stayed one night on the second floor. The women's dormitory bunk bed only had one outlet. No toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers, or bath towel were provided.
Shower: The public bath on the second floor was very cold and smelled like grilled fish, so I didn't use it. The first floor only had one communal shower, which had time limits and sometimes required waiting in line.
Service: The staff starts at 4 PM. If you arrive early on your check-in day, you can sit around since no one's really watching. Luggage can be stored on the fourth floor. On check-out day, you can store your luggage until 10 PM. The front desk service was decent; there was a young lady who spoke Chinese.

I stayed on the female floor and it was very noisy (I realise the hotel has no control over this) as there were 20 women in the room and guests were packing/unpacking sometimes at 2am or 4am.. There were 3 sinks, one soap and no paper towels so the space was cramped and not always clean. There are two toilets which have a sink and paper towels. There are tiny lockers for your shoes but they are not secure so you can't keep valuables there. There is very little storage in the room - my bag fitted under the bunk but because of the ladder, another wouldn't fit there so there were cases in the aisle.
The bunks were narrow with a light, socket and coat hanger. The mattress wasn't particularly comfy, and it was dusty in the gap between the bed and the wall.
The showers were on the top floor, they were hot but the water turns off every so often so you have to keep turning it on. They were clean when I went and have space for keeping things dry
The kitchen area was a microwave and kettle, a table, counter and a few chairs. It was small for a hostel of this size. There are washers and dryers for a fee.
The staff on reception were always friendly

Similar to other Toyoko Inn hotels, I used my passport for a fully self-service check-in at the machine. They gave me a room at the end of the hallway, with the head of the bed by the window, offering a great view directly onto the street.
The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk from the subway station and 10-20 minutes from Senso-ji Temple and the kitchenware street. You can even see the Tokyo Skytree while walking around, making the location very convenient. There are also many convenience stores right downstairs.
This was the third Toyoko Inn I've stayed at in Tokyo, and this time they even gave me a bottle of sparkling water!đ€Ł The previous two didn't provide any water; you had to go to the first floor to fill your own cup or bottle.
I really love one particular design feature at Toyoko Inn: every hotel has a small bathtub. While it's not huge, it's very comfortable for a relaxing soak.
Each Toyoko Inn also has its own unique badge for the region, which you can purchase at the front desk when you check in. Don't forget to grab one if you enjoy collecting!

I had a very satisfying stay. The facilities were well-equipped, and the bed space was generous, ensuring a comfortable sleep. There was plenty of room under the bed for a suitcase and a travel bag. There are many shops nearby, and the Tsukuba Express and Ginza Line right outside are very convenient. It's a bit far from Asakusa Station, so if you have luggage, remember to navigate and avoid the Senso-ji Temple area; take another route. My roommates were all considerate, and it was very quiet at night, though it's inevitable if you happen to get a snorer, haha.
Accommodations come equipped with all the conveniences required for a restful night's slumber. A selection of rooms feature linen service and air conditioning to ensure your comfort and convenience. In certain chosen rooms, a refrigerator is conveniently available for your use. In the hotel, certain guest bathrooms come equipped with essential bathroom amenities, such as a hair dryer and toiletries, ensuring a comfortable stay for guests.

We booked for a stay for 10 days. Location wise its about a 5 min walk from Mikawashima station and 12 mins from Nippori Station. Only downside is that to get to Mikawashima you had to take the Joban line, which you had to change trains at either Ueno or Nippori. There is a 7/11 downstairs and a supermarket downstairs which makes buying snacks or drinks convenient. There was no elevator so expect to haul luggage up the stairs, best to request a level one or two room. I got a level 2 room which was adequate for us as it wasnt that much of a climb up. The room was small (expected of a tokyo apartment). The kitchen has plates, cups, pots, pans, kettle, a stove and a microwave. Great for cooking something or heating up a meal from the 7/11 downstairs. There was also a mini fridge to store drinks and such. Our room included 2 beds and a TV, along with a clothing rack and a wardrobe with an iron and ironing board inside it. One of the beds was squeaking alot when moving around in the bed, it wasnt very bad but it got abit annoying when moving around while sleeping at night. Clothing rack was placed right above our beds which i understand was due to the limited space. There are alternative places to hang clothes such as aforementioned wardrobe and in the toilet. The toilet included a smart toilet which had a bidet and heated seats, perfect for the cold weather. There was a washing machine inside, great for those on long stays. There was also a shower and bath included. Bath was pretty small but not surprising as Japanese bath were known to be small. Amenities included shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hairdryer, washing detergent and toothbrush set. You would also need to sort out your trash which was labelled nicely in english for us to understand. Overall for the price of this apartment, it was a great place with great amenities, better than what we had expected. Would definitely recommend.

The staff are all kind and there's no problem if you just want to sleep.
You can get free curry and udon for breakfast, and it's clear that they've made every effort to provide the best hospitality possible in a small establishment.
The building is small, so they've worked hard to create a bath and rest area within it, so it always feels cramped.
Those who are used to larger capsule hotels might find it a bit stressful.
Personally, I felt that it was a shame that the space for the bedrock bath felt like dead space.

I liked this place. A pretty standard classic capsule hotel: sizeable capsule with a console, daily turnover service, large shower and onsen room with an attached steam room. Service was good: they have an army of twinks working there after hours, it was like being checked in by BTS. All issues I had with my capsule (broken lightbulb) were addressed quickly and cheerfully. Sometimes it kinda seemed like they were laughing at a few of the foreign guests, but you know what, fair. This place is kinda rules heavy, with lots of notices posted around the property. There is no eating or drinking in the capsules, and instead you have to go to this common area that feels a bit like a hospice for abandoned uncles. Vending machines, manga library, smoking cubicles, that sorta thing. Clean and tidy though, equal numbers of dudes using it for remote working and day drinking (I have a feeling that some ppl live in this place). They have the usual elaborate system of lockers and keys, but they will store your luggage for you while you are out. No need to check out in the day. Overall a chill experience. While I was staying there though some dude did have a mini breakdown about what he saw as it's shortcomings, so I just wanted to comment on that. According to him the place was disgusting. He was especially perturbed by the housekeeping service and the showers. His claim was the the toilets were dirty and that it was unacceptable to fold bedsheets on the floor. Mind you, he was having this rant at 10:30 - checkout is at 10:00, meaning that a whole stampede of airport-bound weebs had just taken spicy ramen fuelled power dumps so they could get out of there on time. Most of the day the facilities were pretty spotless in my opinion. In regards to folding the bedsheets on the floor, I dunno what in the Disney princess he was expecting, but there really isn't anywhere else to do it. I think it's unreasonable to expect little doves to come fly your linens into your capsule tbh. The capsules are literally on... the floor! What do you want? His overall complaint that the space was generally messy was a lot more valid. At this point I had a suspicion that they kind of segregated foreigners from Japanese customers. It's true, that the foreign floor was a bit of a tip - luggage thrown around, empty bottles everywhere, garbage. I went up to the Japanese floors to snoop around a bit. Spotless. (Pictures of both included for comparison) In this case I think the call is coming from inside the capsule, not really fair to hold the staff accountable to your own messy manners. His final gripe was about the showers - specifically the lack of private cubicles. Private cubicles were not advertised anywhere and Japanese onsens are pretty standardly communal spaces, so again I dunno what he wanted. Maybe a shower, with a curtain? Maybe a shower with a door? Maybe a shower with a psychic forcefield that would make his ex girlfriends forget his underwhelming junk and prevent his father from behind disappointed in him? I'm not sure. But I guess the dozen shower stations with soap, shampoo, and face wash weren't cutting it. In fact a lot of the Western guests seemed pretty pranged out by the shower situation, waiting until like two am to wash up and then scurrying around the baths with a hand towel infront of their package like a little purse. If you regret going bald, that's on you. Kinda silly, but if you are bashful maybe this also isn't the hotel for you. Unreasonable though to blame the establishment for you own shame. Anyway, that's all to say the worst part of my stay was for sure the ranting and raving from an unshowered backpacker while I was trying to have a lie in. Otherwise a pretty decent stay.

Great
KkhosodaI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by every aspect of the experience. The cleanliness was exceptionalâeverything from the room to the common areas was spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing more than enough space to relax after a long day.
The location is another major highlight. It is very convenient and well-situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, transportation, and restaurants. This made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free.
The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm and professional attitude. Their hospitality truly made a difference.
The food was also delicious, with a great variety of options and excellent quality. Every meal I had was satisfying and enjoyable.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.
GGuest UserThis hotel is fantastic! The location is excellent. You can reach Takashimaya by walking across a pedestrian bridge on the 2nd floor, and Shinjuku Bus Terminal is just a 10-minute walk from the ground floor. The hotel rooms are great. If your room faces west, you can see Mount Fuji, though unfortunately, the very peak was obstructed from my room. The smoking room is on the 21st floor and does offer a view of the peak, but it's quite small. The Japanese restaurant on the 19th floor offers a 13,000 yen set menu that was incredibly delicious and very filling.
GGuest UserReally enjoy my stay here, the location is unbeatable since it's walking distance to many metro lines, the staffs are very friendly and accommodating, the onsen is also very clean, the juice bar in the morning and bar in the evening were also great touches. There is only one elevator but I didn't find it to be a deal breaker, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
MmtmlCleaning is chargeable at 1.5k yen per clean. Otherwise no cleaning whatsoever - but they do give you new towels and a trash bag daily (hung on your door knob).
Breakfast is pretty cute and homely - I liked it when I tried it at a different province, so I rebooked dormy inn.
They have a luggage scale at level 2, so very convenient if you have been shopping like crazy. The shopping street around the area is pretty interesting, and I love uneo park.
However, some pretty strange stuff during my stay:
1. They insisted on entering my room for an âinspectionâ but didn't specify why. When I called to ask, they said it was a bedframe inspection. As a solo female traveler my preference is not to let random people into my room, especially if they're not going to clean after these external people enter, but reception said they couldn't wait until my stay was over a few days later. When I came back to the room, my blanket was shifted and untucked entirely from one side, and my electronics were moved around.
2. A bug appeared on my sink mirror, so I gave feedback to the hotel staff as mini bugs means there's more bugs, and suggested that they fumigate. They said âoh... sorryâ suddenly all proceeded to look away from me and pretend I didn't exist, which was super weird treatment, and very rude lol. I didn't even ask them to change my room, the point is that these bugs are likely to have infestations, and if I came back in another trip to this hotel, I would not like to see more. They didn't even bother asking me what floor I was on, so 100% they don't seem to have any intention of dealing with this. Very weird and poor behaviour - I think it was too much to expect Onyado Nono service in Dormy Inn, so I don't think I will come back.
SSupattra(kung)The room is small, Japanese-style11 sqm i book conneting room, The location is very convenient, close to JR. Thereâs a FamilyMart, AEON, and many delicious and reasonably priced restaurants nearby. You can walk to Tobu Department Store every day for shopping.
The hotel offers a welcome drink available anytime, and there is a separate onsen for men and women. In the evening at 6:00 PM, there is a free happy hour with drinksâperfect for alcohol lovers. My husband really loved it.
The amenities are also of good quality. If I visit Japan again, I would definitely choose to stay hereâthe price is very reasonable too.
GGuest UserHere's a review of a hotel located in the heart of Akasaka, offering easy access to two subway lines. It's a quiet business-boutique hotel with more spacious rooms than similar establishments, making it ideal for commuting to the city center or exploring Roppongi/Akasaka.
**Key Highlights (Reasons to Choose This Hotel):**
1. **Dual Subway Access + Central Akasaka â Convenient for Anywhere:**
* Approximately a 4-minute walk to Akasaka Station and a 6-minute walk to Tameike-Sanno Station, covering multiple lines for easy access to Ginza, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Tokyo Station. Haneda Airport is about 45-60 minutes away.
* Within walking distance of Roppongi, Tokyo Midtown, and Akasaka Sacas, boasting vibrant shopping and dining areas. A 7-Eleven is conveniently located downstairs, making daily life easy.
* The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, making it a better option for rest compared to Shinjuku or Shibuya.
2. **More Spacious and Well-Designed Rooms Than Other Japanese Hotels in the Same Category:**
* Standard rooms are approximately 15-18 sqm, larger than most business hotels in Tokyo, allowing two large suitcases to be opened without feeling cramped.
* Comfortable bedding with memory foam/low-rebound pillows. Bathrooms feature bathtubs and smart toilets, with stable water pressure and temperature. Amenities are comprehensive.
* Good natural light, with most rooms feeling bright and airy. Cleanliness is up to Japanese standards.
3. **Practical Facilities, Suitable for Long Stays/Families:**
* A coin-operated laundry room is available on the 12th floor (washing 300 JPY/drying 100 JPY), and microwaves are on multiple floors, friendly for long-term guests.
* A small, complimentary gym on the 3rd floor is a bonus for business travelers or fitness enthusiasts.
* Cribs/children's amenities can be arranged, making it family-friendly. The front desk offers multilingual service, with fluent English, and handles luggage storage/package receiving efficiently.
4. **Consistent Service, Thoughtful Details:**
* The front desk staff is enthusiastic and professional, responding quickly. Small items like chargers and hair straighteners can be borrowed, with some guests reporting feeling 'valued'.
* Free high-speed Wi-Fi is stable. Some periods offer guidance.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is a typical budget option with nothing particularly memorable about the stay. Basic amenities were provided, but not well maintained â the soap and shampoo came in small sachets and were not consistently replenished. The pillow was quite small and overly soft, making it uncomfortable to sleep.
AAlex WchGood location and room is spacious.
Do select the right number of person to stay otherwise you may get charged for extra person per night.
Hotel tax is required to pay upon check in.
Staying for longer days required to put cleaning required notice otherwise room may not get clean.
GGuest UserI had a pleasant stay at the 9h nine hours Akasaka. The pods were comfortable and clean and the location was very convenient. However, the common space for eating was really small. The locker space was very crammed. They also wonât store your luggage after you check out so if youâre planning to do something on between the check-out and your flight/train you need to take your luggage outside.
