"The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the train station, which is its biggest advantage. There's also a supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient. The downsides are that the bathroom light is motion-activated, so it would suddenly turn off while showering. The 2-in-1 shower gel and shampoo came in a tiny bottle. The food and drinks in the mini-fridge cost extra, and the air conditioning wasn't very responsive. For both days I stayed, it wouldn't turn on automatically, and I had to go to the front desk to get it working. On the first day, it was too cold, and on the second, the airflow was very weak. The soundproofing was decent, but I could still hear noise from the hallway. Overall, though, I was satisfied. The room was quite spacious, and the bed was a double."

"First, the aircon is cold even in summer (we stayed on the top floor). The room size is big for European standards. Everything else (location, cleanliness, room condition, breakfast selection, food choices nearby) I am giving it 10/10 for its money. My only comment is that a room card is not required to get into the elevator. Everything else is perfect. Highly recommended."

"Overall, this was a perfectly decent place to stay, with a convenient location and everything you need for a short visit to Milan. Unfortunately, one major issue significantly affected our experience: the shower was leaking badly. It was practically impossible to take a shower without flooding the entire bathroom and getting water all over the room. After every shower, we had to spend time wiping everything down because the floor and surrounding area were covered in water. This is especially frustrating in summer, when you come back after a hot day of sightseeing and simply want to take a comfortable shower. Without this issue, we would probably have rated the stay around 4/5. But a properly functioning shower is a basic necessity, so unfortunately, for us, this brought the experience down to around 3/5."

"Beyond its location, this place has nothing going for it. The room was tiny, and the old guy at the front desk, who looked Chinese, couldn't speak Mandarin. The window handle was missing, and the toilet seat creaked so much I was worried it would break. As we were leaving, I saw a blue card on the table with drink prices listed on the back. I wasn't sure if it was for the mini-fridge downstairs. We had two drinks that night. The next day at checkout, the front desk mumbled something I couldn't understand. I just asked, 'OK? We go now?' She replied 'OK,' so we left..."

"The location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk to the train and subway stations. The front desk staff were also very friendly. The only downside is that the facilities are a bit old, but otherwise, everything else was good."

"The location is fantastic, right next to the train and metro stations, and the airport shuttle bus terminal is just downstairs (€10 per person). It's convenient for getting to any attraction. There's air conditioning, so you can pop back to the hotel for a break when it's hot in the afternoon, grab a complimentary coffee, and then head to the food court across from the central station in the evening for some delicious food. It's truly delightful."

"The hotel didn't change the duvet cover & sheets for three nights, and the duvet cover smelled bad; my hands and feet were probably bitten by bed bugs. They only changed the sheets on the fourth and fifth nights. The toilet had a sliding door that couldn't be closed, and it smelled terrible; the overall air quality in the room was poor."

"Hotel location: The Milan HD8 Hotel is located directly opposite Milan Central Station, just across the road. It's also conveniently located for the airport express train, even more so than the regular train, as it's just a short walk across the road. Room space: Very small. Once a suitcase is laid flat, there's no room to walk around. Facilities and hygiene: The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the air conditioning is very strong. It has a 6-foot double bed, but there were no toothbrushes, conditioner, slippers, or tissues. [Unexpected Safety Incident] On the second night of my stay, the power tripped twice in quick succession. When I reported the first outage, the male front desk staff member was surprisingly able to accurately state my room number. He contacted an engineer to inspect, and the conclusion was that it wasn't due to a problem in the room itself, but rather the main circuit breaker on the first floor where my room was located. After it was reset, the power was restored. However, less than half an hour later, the power tripped a second time. This time, the male front desk staff member didn't call an engineer; he came upstairs himself and attempted to close me in the room. I managed to hold the door open in time, and clearly informed him and pointed out the switch location inside the room, which prevented an unsafe situation! The male front desk staff member then went to the main circuit breaker, and the power in the room was restored in just 2-3 seconds (presumably by flipping the breaker). This male front desk staff member offered no comfort or apology, but instead asked, “Are you scared?” Because the power tripped twice on the same night, making it impossible to stay safely, I contacted Ctrip customer service representative L19742 around 3-4 AM China time. Ctrip handled the situation appropriately for me, and there were no further power outages after that. [In summary, even with a good hotel location, I do not recommend single travelers stay here.]"

"Wonderful hotel with very friendly, helpful staff and good facilities. Check in was quick and straightforward. Room was perhaps a little dated in terms of decor, but beautifully clean and had everything I needed. Shower was amazing with instant, powerful hot water, handheld and rainfall heads and lovely soft towels. TV has Chromecast as well as international channels, so you can use your normal streaming services from your phone. WiFi was great and free, even in the lift. Lovely breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the city, with food that tasted fresh and of good quality. The main tourist sites are some distance away, but the metro is just a few steps from the hotel entrance, and the streets around the hotel have everything you should need."

"We chose this 4-star hotel after seeing many highly-rated reviews, so we were really surprised – and honestly, felt like we'd made a mistake – after checking in. Initially, the room they gave us had several broken light bulbs. The desk lamp not only didn't work, but it was also missing its shade, and there was even a small box of McDonald's ketchup packets on the table, which was just bizarre. After we reported it, they immediately moved us to a different room. The new room was better; the desk lamp had a shade, but it still kept flickering. We didn't bother complaining again. Overall, our stay wasn't great."
