"I’ve never been one to write reviews however this hotel is a must if you’re visiting Dublin! Prime location as it’s on the main strip in the temple bar area, brilliant pubs, eateries and shops nearby. We were warmly greeted by a lovely man on the security desk who directed us downstairs to check in, room was ready before check in time so always ring or pop in even if you’re early to see if your room is ready. Reception staff were polite and very helpful offering maps of the local area, recommending a restaurant, offering to book taxis, etc. Our room was a twin, plenty of room for 2 adults with added comforts of a fan and mini fridge. The en-suite was clean and modern, the shower was amazing especially with the included toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser) which smell lovely. We did request a south facing room and it was not noisy at all. We had breakfast from the la carte menu, freshly cooked, tasted lovely with generous portions. On check out we stored our luggage as our flight was late evening, once again offering to book us a taxi for the airport, very helpful!"

"My stay at the Abbey Hotel in Dublin presented a mixed experience, with both positives and a few inconveniences. The hotel boasts an excellent location, being very close to the city center and many major attractions, making most sightseeing spots accessible on foot. There's a shopping mall right across the street, and numerous restaurants and bars nearby, which was super convenient for shopping, dining, and evening outings. However, its distance from Connolly Station is a bit of a drawback; it's about a 25-minute walk, which can be quite a struggle if you're carrying luggage. For this reason, I'd rate the location 4/5. The overall cleanliness of the room was good, and the daily-use spaces were well-maintained, earning a 4/5 for tidiness. A point to note is that our room faced the main road, and the soundproofing wasn't great. Outside traffic and street noise were quite audible, which might bother light sleepers. Furthermore, every time we wanted to enter or exit the hotel, we had to ring a doorbell and wait for the staff to open the door. This was less convenient than being able to use a key card to come and go as we pleased, so the facilities get a 3/5. On the positive side, the front desk staff were incredibly friendly. Their attitude was always pleasant when assisting us with opening the door or handling any accommodation requests, making us feel very welcome. I'd give service a perfect 5/5. Overall, this hotel is ideal for travelers who prioritize a central location, as well as easy access to shopping and dining. However, if you're sensitive to noise, concerned about nighttime disturbances, or prefer unrestricted access to and from the hotel, these are factors you'll want to consider before booking."

"There were bananas and apples at the reception, so I had bananas for breakfast. This was very helpful as food costs are high. The location is very good, close to Trinity College and Dublin Castle, and buses stop there. I was a bit concerned about the lack of a hairdryer, but the price was reasonable and I'm glad I stayed there."

"This is my first time to visit Ireland and the 1st day we stay in this apt. When I arrived too early and the check in lobby was closed. However, once I WhatsApp to the registration, they right the way give me a big help. Gacr and Matel is so friendly and helpful. They arrange an early check in for us and really appreciate their help in knowing more about the city. Highly recommend this apt to stay. It is clean, right in the city center and you can walk around to the most city scenic and restaurants. Glady"

"First time in Dublin and wanted to stay in the heart of the city, so chose this hotel located on the famous Temple street. Even though I was worried it might be a bit noisy at night, I barely heard anything while staying there- however they did also provide earplugs so if you are more sensitive then perhaps those might be necessary. The staff was friendly and the rooms were well outfitted and clean. Security seemed quite tight needing to ring to get in after 8pm but it wasn't too much of a nuisance."

"Hotel a little tired looking but serviced its purpose. Location was good for nightlife and access to Oylimpia theatre. Unfortunately being single glazed there was a lot of early traffic noise although earplugs had been provided. Room was very hot despite turning of the radiator when we arrived. Bed was comfortable and clean, bathroom could do with an upgrade, showering was difficult due to positioning of shower head and curtain making the space very small."

"Really happy with this hotel. Booked it last minute when I was late for my ferry and did not want to travel during the night. The room was really clean and tidy. Receptionist Mauricio (?) was very pleasant and helpful. As I was not planning to stay in Dublin overnight, I had no toothbrush. I did not think that Travelodge can provide one, but there is no shame in asking. Hooray! I got a disposable dental kit, that really made my stay much more comfortable. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant, it does look much more posh that an average travelodge. I wanted some ice for my drink at the room. Got a glass full of ice at the bar with no problem. The only downside could be if you are a couple and travelling with 2 or more large suitcases. The room is on a smaller side. Very happy with my last minute decision to stay at this hotel."

"The room is small, even the cup has to be placed in the cabinet. There is no way to open the suitcase. The 21st century has no air conditioning facilities. I asked the front desk. He said that if you want an air-conditioned room, you can book another room next time. He can give me a fan. I am really speechless. I really want to turn my eyes 🙄️ and stayed for two nights to get close to 3K. I am also drunk 😵‍💫."

JJunI recently stayed at the Hotel Riu Plaza The Gresham Dublin and found its location on O'Connell Street to be exceptionally convenient for exploring Dublin's main attractions. The room was clean and featured a mini-fridge, which was useful for keeping drinks cool. However, the breakfast experience was underwhelming. The selection lacked variety, and the quality didn't meet expectations. Additionally, the lobby area felt cramped during peak times, making it less inviting for relaxation. While the hotel's central location is a significant advantage, improvements in breakfast offerings and lobby comfort would enhance the overall guest experience.

GGuest UserWe had an overall great experience at this hotel. It is in a quieter area of Dublin but there is plenty to see and do just a short walk away including Trinity College, the National Museum of Ireland galleries and within 15 minute walk of most major attractions. They also had good connections to the airport using the Dublin Express Bus that had quite a few stops nearby. There are some very good restaurants a short walk away from this hotel and the Leap Card can get you pretty good public transportation around the city. The hotel has studio style kitchenette apartments. We were surprised with how well equipped the little kitchens were which included multiple cooking utensils and pots. They had a Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, mini fridge (stocked with some milk), microwave/oven and a mini dishwasher. Dishwasher tablets, dish soap, sugar, salt, pepper and a few other things were conveniently included. We made ourselves breakfast each day we were here which was easy to do because there is a Tesco Express and possibly the best bakery in Dublin just around the corner with Bread 41. The room was pretty good with plenty of outlets and even though it was a bit small there was enough space for our two large suitcases and bags. They have a small seating area with a table, a large flat screen TV, good WiFi and good lighting. The bathroom was pretty good too but we weren't a fan of the partition because it does not cover the full shower area and it was easy for water to get out of the shower. They have an all in one body wash too. The room was mostly quiet but we were there on New Year's Eve and there was one lady who had a very loud complaint in the hallway around 3 in the morning for around 15 minutes. The staff are very kind and helpful. They had no room left in their luggage storage when we arrived so they allowed us early check in which is usually 20 Euros. They have a WhatsApp ”AI” chat that you can request service through and we used it for extra towels that came up pretty quickly. The hotel has some amenities including a small restaurant/bar that has some food and coffee and paid laundry machines. Breakfast here costs 15 euros if you pre-book but if you want it the morning of it is 17 Euros. The one thing we found tricky about the hotel is that we had to use the elevator to go up and down even though we were on the first floor because all the stairwells are locked up for safety/fire protocol. Overall, a good stay for our first time in Dublin and we would consider staying here again or recommending to friends and family with similar interests to ours.

TTravelwithninnyHonestly, don’t think twice about staying here. I had a lovely stay at this hotel and il definitely be rebooking when I revisit Dublin. I booked the studio as it was just me travelling solo! It was clean, comfortable, and definetly sustainable. It was compact but also spacious. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my visit. The location was great and made getting around the city very easy. Downstairs in the lobby was a very relaxing and moody aesthetic, perfect for working and to the other side was the dining area. There’s so much to unpack here, just book it!!

TTeacherTravelTimesI decided to ditch staying in the city centre based on my below par experiences there on my last trip. When looking on Trip.com, Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Dalkey was the same price as several dorm rooms in the city centre when I looked. Getting there from Dublin Airport was relatively straightforward. I took and Aircoach from the airport to Dalkey/Ulverton Road and then walked for about 15 minutes. Up to the hotel entrance. The hotel is fairly old fashioned but personally I found it very charming. The staff were well-trained in the art of hospitality, the rooms were clean, locals were in and out of the bar, restaurant and leisure centre. Furthermore, the room was spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. The tv had a nice range of channels and the bathroom had a working shower and an abundance of towels. One thing missing was a toothbrush, toothpaste and shaving kit. I was told that you can get slippers on request as well. Get the breakfast. It’s €16 and it’s a buffet style with a delicious selection of hot and cold food. There’s rashers, sausages, hash browns, pancakes, the works. I wish I could’ve eaten more! I loved that they had a wide range of ages working there as well. One of the staff tripped when she went to ask if everything was ok and she said ‘I’m fine, I’m falling for you!’ It was then that I knew that I was home. The leisure centre is one of the best I’ve come across in a while. I’ve stayed in so many places where it’s literally an empty room with a few bits of old equipment but they had loads of weights, treadmills, bikes, etc. They do classes and physiotherapy as well. The pool and jacuzzi were also excellent. Plenty of ages in both as well but it wasnt overcrowded so you’ll get a few lengths in if you want. Lastly, make sure to go for a walk about Dalkey and the surrounding areas. I spent the morning walking down to the Vico Baths, the Forty Foot (both swimming locations) and passed through Dalkey Village. Plenty of people will be out with their family and friends whether it be for a walk, bike ride, swim or a coffee and a chat. Ditch Dublin City and say yes to Dalkey!

DDaff GlezI went to the same hotel with a friend and absolutely loved it. The room was clean, and the shared bathrooms, including the showers, were also spotless. The lounge was my favorite spot because it felt so comfortable and cozy; it was our quiet place to relax after all the walking around Dublin. I adored that the reception staff tried to communicate in Spanish. On the other hand, the buffet was pretty good. I thought there might be more options, based on my experiences at other hotels in Spain, but for a simple and peaceful breakfast, it was wonderful. I also loved the garden. My friend and I are long-distance, and I met him in person at this hotel. I felt warmth and comfort there. For having met my friend there, who I'm going to miss, and for the trust the hotel gave me, even though I'm not one to share a room, I will always be eternally grateful and will never forget the place. Thank you so much. Bye bye Gardiner House Hostel, bye bye to my friend, and bye bye to Dublin. I leave with both nostalgia and happiness ❤️🩹

GGuest UserStaff was very friendly in the reception, we paid not much to leave our luggage before our flight, location is super well located. The room is quite small, but because of price in comparison with what is offered around was really good. Definitely will not stay more than 3 days as not even windows possible to open.

GGuest UserMy husband and I had been planning this trip to Dublin for quite some time. And when we found this beautiful boutique hotel online, we were so excited. As soon as we arrived And checked in, there was a lot going on in the lobby area, so it was a little overwhelming. We saw a lady at the desk, but we weren’t sure that she actually worked there because she didn’t greet us. Didn’t even look our way. It seemed like she had a general disinterest or disdain for us being there. I asked, “Is this the front desk to the hotel?” To which she responded in a monotone voice, “Yes.” I was shocked that this was the first impression of the hotel that we were getting. What made it worse was that my husband was told that we needed to put a card on hold and he proceeded to tap his card thinking that it was like all the other places we had been to in Ireland. But it didn’t work. Several times he tapped it and it showed nothing. He asked the lady, “does your tap work? Do you have tap?” To which she replied a curt, “no.” Mind you, she was standing there the entire time and could see the entire situation. This interaction was such a bummer, and this made our short trip to Dublin feel a little sour.  To be honest, not all of the stuff was like that morning. We woke up to get a coffee downstairs, and the gentleman that works at the coffee bar was very warm. A young Spanish speaking man. He was absolutely amazing; patient and willing to answer any questions About the items on the menu And the different pastries available.  Overall, the hotel was a mixed bag. It had a very chic vibe but outside of that lovely gentleman, their customer service can definitely improve!
