"I’m very satisfied over all. Considering the location, it took 30min by walk from the city center area, the price was very economic. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very kind and managed me to do early check out. There was a small guide of sightseeing in the room with all the information I need and it helped me to do plan a lot."
"This is the best hostel I’ve stayed at in Croatia!
There’s plenty of space to unpack, and it’s close to the Old City.
My luggage was quite heavy, and when I asked, they kindly moved me from a third-floor room to a first-floor one.
I didn’t know breakfast was included, but they even provide a simple one.
It really feels like they understand and care for solo travelers.
The hostel was so nice that I decided to stay an extra night — thanks to you, I had a great rest!"
"Cosy little hotel with very good view, great for couples looking to stay near the old city and not in old city (so that you dont have to drag your luggages on cobblestone). Breakfast is delicious! They even packed a breakfast box for us when we inform them about our early flight! Highly recommend!!"
"Pro - very close to the Golden Gate and is easy to find. Check in is straightforward. The room is on the first floor above ground so it wasn't the most difficult thing to lift our luggages up.
Con - (1) the actual room looks nothing like the pictures online. The online pictures (taken with wide lens mode) show the room to be much larger and brighter, whereas the room is in fact very small and relatively poorly lit. For one, the bed is literally two footsteps away from the door, and we were struggling to find space to open our luggages.
(2) One of the beds in the room is in fact a sofa bed, but the property did not declare this when we booked. We spent a lot of time trying to book places which do not use sofa beds but actual beds, and so we can't help but feel that we were misled and misrepresented to.
(3) There is a bit of noise. The property is right next to the road and near a pub with some rowdy youths at times.
(4) Facilities are minimal. There is only one chair, and the table is very small. Everything else is basic. Nothing luxurious about it despite its name and the photos.
(5) There is no lift at the property.
We would not have chosen this property if we had a second chance."
"There was no staff at the apartment when we arrived and no one contacted us beforehand about how to check in. We called several times before someone answered. In addition, the hotel's location and sanitary environment are good"
"Amazing position for quickly & conveniently accessing all that Split has to offer. High spec room & excellent shower facilities. On street car parking is available but sometimes has to be sought out during busy times. "
"Perfect location on Norodni Trg and beautiful, spacious room. Boutique hotel with only 12 rooms and a great breakfast. Highly recommend. Note that it can be a tad difficult to find the actual hotel. It’s located on 2nd level above the ground floor cafe with the entrance from the small walk street on the left."
"Marko at Croparadise was exceptionally helpful and kind. Give him a raise! He made our check-in effortless and answered all our questions knowledgeably. The location is a 5 minute walk from the center of town and our room was spacious, clean, and quiet, as was the adjoining bathroom. We theoretically had to share with the other rooms in the suite, but we never saw anyone else for the bathroom or kitchen. We were only there overnight, not a prolonged stay, but it was everything we needed for a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate to stay there again and would highly recommend it to everyone looking for a clean, affordable place very near the center of Split. Again, a big thanks to Marko who also went to great lengths to retrieve a couple of items we left behind."
"A little: convenient location, very close to the old town, there is a supermarket downstairs, and there are many dining options nearby. The service staff still received it, and the service that should be done was basically done.
Disadvantages: The rooms are distributed in two buildings. After finding them according to the location, the room may not be here. You need to drag your suitcase and continue to walk a stone road.
The building I live in is similar to a hotel apartment. There is no elevator. When I go there, there will be a waiter to help you carry your luggage, but the next day because I have to catch the bus early in the morning, I have no way to carry my luggage downstairs. I have to make an appointment for the waiter to help move it early the next day. I always feel like I'm adding trouble to others.
Google locates the hotel very close to the bus station, but if you actually walk, there are slopes, steps and stone roads. If the girl drags a large and heavy suitcase, she is still cautious.
Finally, the room is average, the big bed room, the actual twin bed, the bed is very small, I did not care about it because the transition is a night, but the price is not high."
"The room was stunning and very clean. We were fortunate to have the room with a south facing balcony, which was a heat trap. It is situated in a very central area with lots of shops, bars, and restaurants near by.
The things which let the room down was the bang average speed WiFi, that once several folk throughout the hotel were on went pretty slow, which is sometimes the case. The TV brand is Grundig, which I never heard of and is not got any smart settings. There is an option to project your phone/ipad to it. The only issue is if the Internet is slow then it sometimes won't recognise... Get new TVs!
Communication could be improved, the gentlemen who checked us in said to contact him with any queries, I did so and had no reply. They could do with a system to drop off used towels and collect new clean towels from the reception area of the hotel.
Hopefully this constructive feedback will be acted on as it is minors things as mentioned above that are lowering the overall experience for fellow guests."

SSeat 2AThis is an intimate 5-room establishment situated amidst the alleys of the Old Town, hence cars cannot drop passengers at the doorstep. Easy enough to catch a shuttle bus for EUR 8 from the airport to the bus station at the port, from which a Makarun staff will meet you and assist you with your luggage to the hotel, a 10-minute walk away.
Breakfast is a la carte, as is to be expected for such a small establishment, comprising 3 courses - pastry/toast, eggs of your choice with cold cuts, and a dessert, complemented by tea coffee and/or juice. Food was more than adequate in terms of quantity and quality.
My room was comfortable enough, though 2 issues were noticeable:
* Instead of a flat cotton bed sheet, there was a fitted sheet made of what seemed like jersey, and looked more like a mattress protector. This was pilled and coarse, in contrast to the far smoother cotton quilt cover. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they explained that this is standard for the hotel. Whilst it did not affect the quality of my sleep, the coarseness of the sheet wasn't entirely pleasant
* In the bathroom, the shower was mounted at waist height, hence one either had to hold the shower in one hand, or, if there was a need to use both hands to wash, then one would have to crouch under the shower while it was in its holder. Not particularly convenient.
Overall a comfortable stay in a convenient location, enhanced by the friendly and solicitous Ivan and Mario.
Ttink Best location for visiting the old town. Delicious breakfast and an amazing view from the pool. Would highly recommend rooms with sea view. Bed is comfortable and rooms are big enough. Would also highly recommend to ask for a higher level room, view is impressive when you wake up in the morning.
GGuest UserThis was a rushed booking due to our original hotel not having our booking. Normally I spend considerable time going through reviews etc, but with the Azur Palace (hotel?) it was a case of needs must.
Unfortunately although we had booked a deluxe double in our opinion it didn’t match similar 4 star hotel deluxe rooms. I mentioned this to reception but they weren’t really interested.
Appreciate we were virtually in the centre of split, with space at a premium, but the view of a small alley with graffiti an empty minibar, not even plugged in, an irritating dim light, I think from the a/c that ensured the room wasn’t completely dark. After trying to close it down without success I went to reception, which had a note with a phone number to call. I gave up went back to the room and tried throwing a towel over it.
Also no bar, although there are a few within couple of minutes.
Overall disappointing.
GGuest UserMarko could not have been more helpful. He picked me up from the airport at a late hour for less than a taxi, was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He helped me with everything I needed to have a comfortable stay. I only wish I could have stayed longer, but I am going back to Split later this week and have booked with him already. The location is a stone's throw from the center of town and it is very quiet and peaceful. I loved the shampoo/body cleanser they have in the shower, it made my hair very shiny and bouncy! Plus the price cannot be beat. Highly recommend and, as I said, I've booked another stay already.
TTereza ZekoMy boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Amphora from December 31, 2025 to January 3, 2026, and our experience exceeded all expectations. From the very beginning, we were warmly and professionally welcomed at check-in, which made us feel immediately at ease.
The room was very spotless, and the sea view was absolutely breathtaking — truly a dream. Everything was perfectly arranged and exactly as we had hoped. A special mention goes to the housekeeping staff, who were consistently friendly, attentive, and very helpful.
The breakfast buffet deserves particular praise: it was one of the largest, most diverse, and highest-quality selections we have ever experienced. Due to how much we enjoyed our stay, we decided to extend it by one additional night, which was arranged quickly and without any issues.
We can highly recommend Hotel Amphora and would happily return in the future.☺️
AAobfoodieGreat location, view was amazing and room was clean and nice furniture !
-Staff was very absent and you need a key to get in the hotel and in room. we forgot our key in our room and realised after dinner around 11pm and even though staff should be in hotel until 3am : no one was there . We had to contact by phone only but being Canadian we didn’t have a working phone . We almost slept outside. . We got help from neighbour restaurant.
- staff supposed to start again at 7 am ; we left at 8 without checking out as again there was no one .
- my daughter got her EarPods stolen in our room we could locate them with the Apple app and could see exactly where they were . Again no staff at all in hotel to tell them cleaning person stole. (We are SURE 100% they were stolen as they didn’t leave the room we never brought electronics with us anywhere and the location they were at was 7km away from hotel where we had never been.
- they offer steaming service, I wanted to use it but they told my it took 1 week to fet my clothing back .. we were there for 4 days. Staff offered to bring a steamer to my room so I could do it myself . They never brought it…
-there was a beautiful terrace on the 4th floor but we only found out about it on our last night .
- we wanted to go to a beach and the staff said it was a 45 min walk and that’s only way to go. We walked . Finally when we got there .. we could have takes a trolley for 3euro …. We took it to come back.

AAnonymous UserThere is no one at the check-in counter. You have to contact in advance to find out how to check in. And the location of the hotel to check in is quite far. There is no elevator. The interior of the hostel is clean and warm.
