Rooms a bit tired - we had a ‘business class’ room and no idea how compared with standard room. Was a generous size. Bed comfortable but bathroom seen better days and whoever did mastic needs practise! Sink had a crack and toilet flush was low pressure.
Staff ( reception, breakfast and bar) pleasant and helpful. Appreciated being able to leave luggage while we went to the snooker.
Short walk into main town centre but not particularly pleasant walk.
Did represent good value for money but not sure I would choose to stay here again.

Get the room with no window, still alright. We can control the air condition/fan and heater on the wall. Easy access to the city with the tram and bus. Unfortunately, the room is quite noisy with people from the other room. You can hear they talking and laughing. Even when they flushed the toilet! Hillarious.

The location is good and safe. Even though they don’t have room service, but the staffs are really nice. The breakfast doesn’t have that many options, but tasty! The toilet is clean.

The Novotel Sheffield Centre hotel offers family-friendly comfort right in the heart of the city. This 4-star hotel perfectly blends style with convenience, as guests can enjoy a quiet, airy room with enough space to work or relax. The stay was okay, but the internet was a bit slow, and the room's heating was broken. They brought up a space heater, so the service was decent enough. My room wasn't cleaned during my three-night stay, they only emptied the trash. I guess labor in Europe is 'eco-friendly' like that.
We’re located on Bramall Lane less than one kilometer from shopping and entertainment in the city centre. Meadowhall, Kelham Island, and the Crucible Theatre are under a 15-minute drive. Sports venues including Ponds Forge, Olympic Legacy Park, and Utilita Arena are within five km. Enjoy our on-site restaurant, event rooms, and our fitness centre.

DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City was exactly what I needed during my business trip. Comfortable, reliable, and quietly kind. From the moment I arrived, the check-in was smooth and welcoming, and that first warm cookie felt like a small but genuine gesture of care after a long journey.
The location is convenient, close to the city centre yet peaceful enough to rest. It made moving between meetings and personal time easy, something I truly appreciated.
The room was modern, clean, and quiet. The bed was comfortable, the lighting soft, and everything worked perfectly. It was not about luxury, but about thoughtful comfort that helps you recharge.
Breakfast offered a good variety and the restaurant had a calm atmosphere that made mornings feel easy. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help without being intrusive.
What stood out the most was the consistency. Every part of the stay felt dependable and well cared for. That sense of steadiness made it easy to relax and focus on the purpose of the trip.
Thank you DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City for creating a space that feels balanced, peaceful, and genuinely comfortable.

Really nice hotel for the price, the area is a bit dodgy but the staff was very helpful, near the city centre and train station so it's pretty convenient and there's a tram stop just 2 mins away. Overall pretty good

The hotel reception was very friendly. We arrived late, around 9:30 PM, because we were shopping at Bicester Village. The hotel is next to a Holiday Inn and has a decent-sized parking lot; it costs 6 pounds for an overnight stay, deducted from the deposit. Our room rate included dinner, but since the restaurant closed at 9 PM, the hotel arranged for us to eat at the bar next door. We ordered steak and fish and chips, which were surprisingly good, especially the steak. The room and bed were both very spacious, and the breakfast was excellent, featuring smoked salmon. Everyone in our group agreed it was great. There's also a traditional British reception room near the entrance, perfect for taking photos!

TTom CadmoreThe Psalter is a gem of an independent hotel. Very close to Eccleshall Rd and Endcliffe Park.
Clean and comfortable room in great condition. Comfy beds, great shower, excellent use of space.
Free secure car parking. Easy booking and check in.
Great price for a triple room.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Arranged a slightly later check out for us. No hassle.
SSuibingganttThis hotel is hilariously bad… In a nutshell, great facilities but terrible service.
1. I asked the hotel to wash a pair of pants. I double-checked with the front desk, and they confirmed it would be delivered to my room before 6 PM. When I got back at 6:30 PM, it wasn't there. At 7:30 PM, I went downstairs only to find the pants at the front desk… no one ever brought them up.
2. When I returned to my room at 6:30 PM, I noticed that while the room was tidied, the toilet paper hadn't been replenished. Thinking I needed other amenities, I scanned the QR code on my phone to request them. The QR code actually worked today (unlike yesterday), but an hour after I made the request, nothing was delivered. Remembering the ridiculous experience on the phone yesterday, I went downstairs to the front desk to get them. Even then, it took another 15 minutes for them to be brought up.
3. The boiled eggs at breakfast weren't even cooked through – the egg whites were still runny… This really confirms it's a hotel with no service.
The only positives: great location and newly renovated.
XXiaoqianxidaqianqianThe room is OK. There is not much to do in Sheffield. It is mainly for transfer to Darcy Manor. It is about 15-20 minutes walk from the train station. It is not far to take the 218 bus, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk.
GGuest UserOne day of work related visit. Very decent hotel in the heart of Sheffield with great amenities and good value for the price.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, granted a complimentary late check-out with no fuss.
Breakfast was really great, apart from not serving hot chocolate drink.
Will definitely stay here again next time I visit Sheffield.
Highly recommended
GGuest Userbooked for my nana and grandad as it was their first time in Sheffield, told the reception this and they upgraded them to a suite! room was lovely with a huge bathroom. location was in such a nice quiet place of the city. would definitely book again
GGuest UserAccommodation was simple, comfortable and spotless. Was close to the Sheffield Ice - where I was going. Lots of places to eat close by. Certainly recommend this place for anyone attending Sheffield Ice.
GGuest UserI think they should change the word Budget for Basic. There was nothing comfortable about the room. No bedside table to put your phone or cuppa on. Only 1 flat pillow each. Bed shoved up against the wall and at right angles to the tv. Only 2 electrical sockets nowhere near a surface to charge your phone. We were given a room with a disabled bathroom that lacked a toilet roll holder, a toilet lid, a towel rail or anywhere at all to pop your toothbrush. Not even a space on the sink. The flooring was laminate and extremely cold. All in all the room was miserable.
MMandy BoylettWe were surprised how nice the hotel is for the price we paid. I went with an old friend for a mid-week city break in Sheffield. The hotel is pretty close to theb train station and we walked there easily with our wheeled suitcases. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful The bathroom had a bath and a shower; the bedroom itself was a decent size. I don't think the electronic safe was working correctly, or maybe it was used error, not sure about that, lol. There was a fridge in the room which was great and unexpected; the wi-fi was also excellent. The staff were friendly, and we could get more coffee, tea and milk from reception. We didn't go to the gym or spa, we did go swimming and it's a lovely, big, well heated pool. There were also two steam rooms, a sauna, an ice room and a discovery shower (a hot or cold shower with four sprays and red and blue lights). There wasn't a machine to spin the swimwear in, but there were polythene bags for wet swimwear. A lovely touch in the gym reception was a coffee machine, where you could sit down and have a free cappucino or whatever your fancy is. We got the train to Meadowhall which took 5 mins and cost £2.90 return (with our senior rail cards). Some locals said the tram was even easier, but we found the train easy enough and very fast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a city break in Sheffield.
MMengskyI wouldn't consider this a good stay, as I encountered several issues. First, the check-in process was a hassle since this hotel doesn't have a front desk. I spent hours calling the hotel, facing either ”Line busy” or no response after a long wait. If it wasn’t for Trip.com's customer service finally connecting with the hotel, I wouldn’t have known what to do. Second, the wooden door in my room was difficult to close; it required a hard push and made a loud ”bang.” The glass sliding door of the shower room was also problematic, it fell out on my first pull, and I'm certainly not strong enough to break a door with just one pull. Lastly, and most frustratingly, was the toilet paper situation. It was my first time encountering a toilet without a single roll of paper. I can't imagine what I would be if I hadn't brought my own in my bag that day. On a positive note, the room was well-equipped with a fridge, oven, heater, toaster, and even an iron, which suggests the hotel might have been quite good when the things are all good a few years ago, but not now.
GGuest UserIt was an impressive and pleasant stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a family room, which was perfect for our trip, very spacious and with great view. The bed mattress is one of the best in all my experience. I had great sleep during the stay. The cleanliness of the room was ok. The location is very convenient if you are driving - 20 mins drive to the walking trails and 10 mons drive to centre of Sheffiled. David from the restaurant provided highly professional and helpful service for our breakfast. All in all, we would consider staying at this hotel again if we visit this area again.
