"The hotel is a bit of a walk from the subway, which can be tough with luggage. The room was a little small, but everything else was great. The area felt very safe, and having a bar, bakery, and Vietnamese pho restaurant downstairs was super convenient for food and drinks. The front desk guy, a very friendly white gentleman, was fantastic! He helped us check in smoothly, and even let us check in around noon. Later, when we realized our Paris metro week pass needed a photo, he printed it for us. We were really grateful for his help!"

"We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. Before arrival, I requested a room on a higher floor facing the courtyard, and the hotel kindly arranged exactly what I asked for. I really appreciated their attention to the request. They also surprised us with beautiful honeymoon decorations in the room, including balloons, a bouquet, and a lovely message card. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made our stay even more special. The room was very clean and comfortable, and we had a very pleasant stay overall. The only small downside was that the shower water pressure was a bit weak, but it was not a major issue. Overall, the hotel made our honeymoon even more memorable. I would definitely recommend staying here."

"Although there are minor details, you can tell the hotel is making a concerted effort to maintain the property. It's located in an area popular with young people, so there's noise from nearby pubs until the early morning. However, I booked knowing that this is typical for a lively, youthful area. If you're sensitive to noise, earplugs work wonders for a good night's sleep! The constant foot traffic actually makes it feel safer. Public transport is abundant, and it's easy to get around on foot. There are plenty of parks and sights to see. Dining, drinking, and shopping are all conveniently close by. The panini shop diagonally across the street is fantastic; the experienced gentleman who makes them creates paninis with perfect crispness and flavor. I've been to France about 20 times over the last 26 years, and I always make sure to have a panini, but these are truly exceptional. The kebabs and fries made by the younger gentleman were also delicious. I stayed in a room with a balcony on the 5th floor, which required climbing a few steps from the elevator to the room. Other reviews mentioned this, and I was prepared. I understood that given the building's structure, this was the only way to install the elevator. I imagine it would be challenging for older guests with large, fully packed suitcases (20kg+) during check-in and check-out. For everyday stays, it's not an issue at all. People say the elevator is small, but there are even smaller ones in other Paris hotels. The reception staff are very kind, even if you don't speak French. Sometimes, when there's a language barrier, you can really see people's true character. As someone who works in hotel management, specifically as an assistant manager in a 130-room city hotel, I'm always impressed by front desk staff who can offer such welcoming hospitality and respond to guests' needs with such dedication. The front desk team at Hotel Bastille Secret truly provided exceptional hospitality."

"Hygiene: The hotel was very clean, with beautiful floors and carpets. Environment: The hotel is conveniently located very close to Gare du Nord, only about 300 meters away. Service: Breakfast is served from 6 AM to 10 AM, offering a continental spread. Adding breakfast separately costs around 14 Euros."

"The hotel itself is very nice, and artistic-looking, me and my friends had a great time here. There were 2 problems however, the biggest one being that there isn't a lock on the bathroom door, and sometimes the door opened a bit too easily. The other problem was the water pressure in the shower, which was decreasing, and even stopping evrery 2 minutes. The staff was very kind and friendly, they even let us keep our luggage in the reception hall on the last day, after making the check out, to go and visit a bit more in Paris. Also, I have to say that the view from our room was amazing! (we stayed at the 5th floor)"

"It feels like living in the Life Hotel! I really want to come back to Paris and stay longer if I have the chance! 1. The accommodation environment is very good, the first floor and the room design are very elegant and French. From the moment you enter the hotel to the room, the hygiene and aesthetics are excellent. I even took some photos of the lounge area on the first floor, hoping to use it as a reference for future house renovations. The surprise is that the hotel also provides disposable slippers. 2. The service was excellent. I met 4 service staff in total, and everyone was very patient and nice. I wrote an email to ask questions in advance, and the hotel replied immediately, which was really great! 3. The breakfast was excellent. I saw the reviews saying it was not a buffet, so I was a little hesitant and did not choose the breakfast included. I went out late on the first day so I tried it. Although the hotel has set up several breakfast styles in advance, you can add more according to your needs, which is better than a buffet! There are refreshments on the first floor that can be enjoyed at any time. 4. The surrounding environment is very good. It is very close to the Seine River, Notre Dame de Paris and the Louvre. The architecture on the island is very beautiful and quiet. The shop windows downstairs are also very beautiful. I highly recommend you to walk around the island. There are also many restaurants on the island with a score of 4.5 or above. 5. The only drawback is that the heating is a bit strong... I was woken up by the heat in the morning, hahaha."

"Location: it was near to Westfield Forum Chatelet de Hall station, RER train B directly from airport station. Walk to Chatelet station 5 mins to entrance, need to navigate the many routes of this main transit station properly, in order not to get loss. It was about 15 mins walk to Notre Dame Church and slightly nearer to Saint Chappel, both attractions are worth visiting. Room, the room was ver clearn, and it has heating elements in the bath room, very useful during winter time. It has a bidet for the toilet. Quite unique Service: English spoken staff, very helpful, as it is a small boutique hotel, the service standar is better with prompt response to service requests."

"Fantastic location! It's a 5-minute walk to Notre Dame, and the RER C line (which goes to the airport and Versailles) is right outside, along with several other metro lines. There's a kindergarten next door, and the area is quiet, safe, and clean, which is a rare find in Paris. There are many great restaurants within walking distance, including a bakery that won an award for its croissants. The facilities are average, as it's an older hotel, but the room was big enough to open two large suitcases, which was perfectly fine for our trip. The staff were very warm and friendly."
