Hotels near 8th arr., Paris

For families trip, pls do book premium room (#5-7) coz #1-4 is very small cannot accommodate 2 suitcases and NO FRIDGE 😭 That said, staff are mostly nice and helpful special thanks to Donia who made every effort to get me a small fridge & chocolates 🤭, Lilia the most helpful & considerate cleaning-lady ever met in my 20-yeas of Paris work life..s even found a way to get my son some bananas… never ran into such a kind lady … and briefly, Jacob, a shy boy but very responsive and handsome 😍 Room to improve… some staff just not bother to help - bananas are finished today at 10am … your room is too small for a fridge… sorry no eggs coz I am going to be off duty… Life is no perfect but how you manage crisis positively can make a change 😊 I will come back for Donia, Lilia & Jacob 😍

Excellent hotel! I found it completely by chance, but it turned out to be the best choice I could have made. The value for money is perfect — everything is at a very high level. The room was clean, neat, and cozy, and the bathroom was spacious and spotless. A special highlight was the beautiful balcony with a lovely view over the city. The staff were very friendly, and the room service was truly excellent — fast, polite, and efficient. The location is perfect: there are plenty of cafés, bakeries, restaurants, and shops nearby, the metro is just a couple of steps away, and you can even walk to the Eiffel Tower. I am extremely satisfied with my stay and would like to express my sincere gratitude to the team at Hôtel Montcalm Paris for their outstanding service. Highly recommended — I will definitely come back again!

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. It was clean, the staff were very friendly, and we absolutely loved the pool. The beds were also very comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The only downside to be aware of is the soundproofing. If you’re a light sleeper, you might notice noise from neighbouring rooms and outside, likely because it’s an older building with some echo. That said, we were so tired from our days out that we slept really well and it didn’t affect us at all. The location is perfect, with the metro, restaurants, and coffee shops just around the corner. And being so close to the Arc de Triomphe was amazing! Overall, we had a lovely time and would happily stay again. ✨

The hotel is very safe, clean and comfortable. The room is small but well-equipped. The breakfast is also very good. I especially like the front desk staff, who are very warm and thoughtful. I arrived in Paris on an early flight and reported it before. The front desk was very considerate and let me check in early at 8:30 in the morning. I was really touched~

The hotel was absolutely wonderful! The location is perfect, making it super easy to get around. This trip was mainly for work and relaxation combined, but the hotel's ambiance made everything so enjoyable. The setting is peaceful. I highly recommend it.

The airline lost my luggage. When I retrieved my luggage, I filled in the hotel's address. I continued to trouble the front desk to help me communicate with the airport. There were several changes at the front desk, but everyone patiently helped me solve the problem and carefully wrote down my needs. Thank them~

The front desk staff member was lovely and incredibly helpful. She kindly upgraded us to a room with a courtyard, which delighted our child. She explained everything clearly, and her service was genuinely excellent; she always greeted us politely whenever we came and went. The hotel has excellent security. We had to hand in our key card when leaving and pick it up from the front desk upon returning, and also press a button to enter/exit the main doors. This made us feel incredibly safe, which is a huge plus when traveling abroad. The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 3-4 minute walk (according to navigation) from Printemps and 7-8 minutes from Galeries Lafayette. The hotel's interior and exterior were beautifully designed with a distinct French flair. The room wasn't small either; we were able to comfortably open and lay flat two 28-inch and one 25-inch suitcases at the foot of the bed after moving the small table and chairs. Housekeeping services were provided upon request (when the sign was displayed), which was considerate, and the room was always impeccably clean. We didn't try the breakfast as we had just arrived from the UK and weren't keen on having more Western cuisine. Nevertheless, we would absolutely stay here again if we get the chance and will certainly recommend it to our friends.

This hotel is part of the Palais des Congrès de Paris complex, and it's one of the few high-rise buildings in the city. From my 8th-floor room facing south, I could see both the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. Getting to the metro is super convenient; you can walk directly through the convention center, which is a huge plus in often rainy Paris. The breakfast was incredibly rich, offering rice, omelets, stir-fried vegetables, and over five kinds of fruit, plus hazelnut chocolate. The room was quite spacious by Parisian standards. Just a heads-up, Montmartre Hill, as shown in some photos, isn't actually visible – I had to stick my phone out the window to capture it. Now, a special warning about the taxis right outside the hotel. They are dishonest, so be careful. Taxis from Charles de Gaulle Airport to central Paris have a fixed zone-based fare: 65 euros for the Left Bank and 56 euros for the Right Bank. If you order a taxi via an app or phone, there's an additional 4-euro booking fee. We took a taxi from the hotel, which is on the Right Bank. The concierge confirmed the fixed fare would be 56 euros. However, after hailing a taxi right outside, the driver tried to charge us 65 euros (the Left Bank rate) plus a 4-euro booking fee upon arrival at the airport. After a lengthy argument, and even calling the hotel, the driver finally charged 56 euros plus the 4-euro booking fee. So, even after arguing, we still ended up paying the extra booking fee. Facilities are very basic. The breakfast is also not very exciting. The location is tricky: you either go up 2 floors of stairs with the smell of urine or take a slow lift to reach the ground floor reception. The room is very small, and sockets and places to hang clothes are definitely not enough. Overall this is not where I would want to stay again when I go to Paris next time.
