"For a solo traveler, I must choose it again if I will go to Paris in the future.
The room is very clean and tidy, it has a large bed, and supply essential items like shampoo, body wash and HAIR DRIER!
It’s only 3-5 mini walk from the closest metro station, that’s very convenient! (there’s a also a small supermarket near the hotel)
The receptionist and staffs are very kind, don’t need to worry about language problem. (Nice English communication )
No noise at night even I lived in the room right next to the sidewalk
Highly recommend!!!!🙌"
"My friends and I overall enjoyed our stay. Though out of the way of the hustle and bustle of Paris, city center, it was just a short walk with easy access to the Metro. The area around the hotel isn’t the greatest, so we made it a point not to meander after dark, though just a few blocks away was the Canal which offered some great restaurant choices and lots of people enjoying their evening walk and jog. Most of the front desk staff were helpful and met us with warm greetings. Our room was always clean, with fresh towels daily, thank you Leila. However, watch out for the ever changing water temps in the shower, freezing cold to scolding hot!! The restaurant on-site was decent, for a buffet, but you couldn’t sit in that area unless you were ordering food. There was a nice lounge area, but the cigarette smoke poured in from the front doors and filled the whole lobby, which made it hard to sit (breathe) in the lounge. We stayed a total of 9 days here and it was comfortable enough to stay again, just not in this area."
"The hotel is located strategically near the train station and metro exists so it is convenient to go around using public transport. There are also a lot of cafes, bars and food around within walking distance so it is quite convenient. Only feedback is on the rooms, they are a bit small with the toilet and the shower area being very tight. The lift is also quite slow and small but overall it is a good stay at the hotel. The soundproffing of the room could be a little better also as noises from the road or sidewalk can be heard quite clearly but bed and pillow is firm enough at least I can sleep."
"We stayed at this hotel for two nights, and it was the perfect base for our time in Paris!
The Location & Vibe:
The location is absolutely fantastic. It is situated right next to a beautiful, lively, and vibrant canal area. It was amazing to be able to take evening strolls, enjoy a drink by the water, and easily walk right back to our hotel.
Superb Connectivity:
Moving around the city was an absolute breeze because the metro station is literally right outside the hotel doors. You cannot get more convenient than this!
The Neighborhood:
The surrounding area has a wonderful local energy. Right across the street, there is a McDonald's (perfect for a quick bite), and the neighborhood is packed with lovely shops where you can easily grab a morning coffee or something fresh to eat to start your day.
The Room & Stay:
Our room was clean, cozy, and provided everything you need for a classic Parisian stay—a comfortable retreat that lets you fully enjoy the beauty and energy of the area.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience. A huge thank you to the staff for their hospitality! We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a lively and well-connected stay in Paris."
"Very good for the price and very well located in my respect.
The hotel is very friendly.
Nothing to blame about the cleanness of my room, comfortable litter."
"The room is super small but understandable since it’s in Paris after all. Walkable to Gare L’Est side entrance, but there are no escalators going down, so if you have luggage, you may have to bring them down manually depending on your strengths haha. There’s only small bar soap and 2 small shampoo & conditioner given, but there are coffee and tea sachets in the rooms. No mineral water is given.
The drawback was the hotel’s soundproofing, which was nonexistent. You can hear the sound of the train, people’s conversations, etc., from level one. We woke up to the first train coming at 5:32 a.m."
"Barebones hotel for those who want to travel on a budget but don't want to stay in hostels/share a room with others.
Comes with a bed, bathroom, small desk, TV and small closet. There's stuff like ~5 hangers, a hair dryers etc. but they also lack some basics like toiletries (you only have a 2-in-1 shampoo and shower gel; no toothbrush, shaving kit, etc.) and slippers.
Service was adequate and 24/7 so that's a plus."
"A simple & cozy hotel by the banks of canal st. Martin. I stayed here as it was walking distance from saint louis hospital where i had some work. The place was very clean with most basic facilities only. I suggest that you don't opt for breakfast at the hotel. They only serve preserved & heated boxed food. This will help for an urgent need but don't come assuming there's a breakfast spread. Instead you could just walk around & fetch yourself some croissants & pain au chocolat. There are two supermarkets (franprix & monopris) in very close proximity where you can pick up your water, packed food & any other daily requirement. The front office staff were very friendly & helpful. Overall this place gave me the most perfect experience for my budget & requirement."
"The staff were very helpful; I arrived in the morning and was able to store my luggage smoothly. The supermarket nearby was also very convenient. Most importantly, I had an early train from East Station the next morning, and the hotel's location right in front of the station was incredibly helpful. Although the heating in the room wasn't working, they lent me a heater, which saved the day. The facilities were well-maintained, and I had a comfortable stay."

Amazing
HHere there everywhereClean hotel with basic amenities, with pretty rooms.❤️ Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, a half an hour's walk to the Eiffel tower 🗼and lots of museums🎨. There are a lot of train/metro stations nearby🚝🚉, a minute or two away. There is an overwhelm of award winning cafes ☕🥐 everywhere so you are spoilt for choice. The check-in process is very smooth, the staff friendly. The room is quiet, you cannot hear the street outside with closed windows, but you might hear your neighbours showering/coughing. Overall great stay 😊
GGuest UserThis hotel is part of the Palais des Congrès de Paris complex, and it's one of the few high-rise buildings in the city. From my 8th-floor room facing south, I could see both the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. Getting to the metro is super convenient; you can walk directly through the convention center, which is a huge plus in often rainy Paris. The breakfast was incredibly rich, offering rice, omelets, stir-fried vegetables, and over five kinds of fruit, plus hazelnut chocolate. The room was quite spacious by Parisian standards. Just a heads-up, Montmartre Hill, as shown in some photos, isn't actually visible – I had to stick my phone out the window to capture it.
Now, a special warning about the taxis right outside the hotel. They are dishonest, so be careful. Taxis from Charles de Gaulle Airport to central Paris have a fixed zone-based fare: 65 euros for the Left Bank and 56 euros for the Right Bank. If you order a taxi via an app or phone, there's an additional 4-euro booking fee. We took a taxi from the hotel, which is on the Right Bank. The concierge confirmed the fixed fare would be 56 euros. However, after hailing a taxi right outside, the driver tried to charge us 65 euros (the Left Bank rate) plus a 4-euro booking fee upon arrival at the airport. After a lengthy argument, and even calling the hotel, the driver finally charged 56 euros plus the 4-euro booking fee. So, even after arguing, we still ended up paying the extra booking fee.

GGuest UserThe room was very well-equipped, with cooking utensils provided, and the dishwasher was a big plus; however, the air conditioning and heating systems kept turning off automatically, and the heater wouldn't turn on. After we reported this, the hotel provided breakfast for us one day because the repairs didn't take place until after check-out! Very nice! 👍🏻
GGuest UserTThe hotel is exceptionally stylish and has a very nice, modern aesthetic. The design is chic and the atmosphere is welcoming.
The wooden floors are a major issue for noise. We could clearly hear movement from the room above, the room next door, and even our own footsteps echoed. The sound insulation is very poor.
Beautiful hotel, but would not recommend if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise.
LLiliichanI stayed for 7 days.
The location is excellent, and I felt at ease knowing that English was spoken.✨
**Location:**
It's within walking distance of the Arc de Triomphe and Avenue des Champs-Élysées, meaning there are tons of train and bus lines available! You can even get to the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland without any transfers. Access to Charles de Gaulle Airport is also good, taking about 50 minutes by train or 35 minutes by car. I also went to Orly Airport for one night to visit Nice. You can get to the airport line (CDG, ORLY) with just one transfer, so the location is truly fantastic.
**Amenities:**
Water and potato chips were provided daily. Tea and a kettle were also available, which was a nice touch. There are no toothbrushes, pajamas, or slippers. I brought my own slippers to use in the room. I never quite figured out why some days there were no chips or water (lol).
**Cleanliness:**
Bed making was done meticulously every day. It seems towels are only replaced if left on the floor; they weren't replaced on days I left them on the shelf.
TTravellingMoWe booked 3 rooms here at Lyf Paris Gambetta. It was amazing. The location is the best, there are two metro stations within an 8 minute walk. My whole family enjoyed it so much, there are many shops nearby so getting food is very easy. The hotel itself had many amenities, including gym and sauna, as well as a beautiful courtyard that you could eat your own food at. The Eiffel Tower was only 30-40 minutes away via metro. The staff were exceptional and kind, they helped us with all our needs. A special thanks to Darien and Rubel, who were very hospitable and kind to us during our stay.
Definitely will stay at this hotel if I come back to Paris.
AAMY·zhouThe cleanliness was passable – at least I didn't get bitten by bugs, but the bugs in the elevator lobby were a different story...
The environment was decent. Many European tour groups stay here. The hotel is right next to the subway, and our room was on the side closer to the park, so it was very quiet.
One time, we left the room with the key card in to keep the power on, but when we came back after grabbing a bite, the key card was gone. I went to the front desk to ask about it. I told them it's fine if they remove it, but they should leave it on the counter. Otherwise, what if they accuse me of missing a card, or what if they use a key card to enter my room whenever they want? A middle-aged woman, who seemed like a local French person, was incredibly arrogant. She didn't even look at me properly and simply replied, 'We just took it out.'
The bathtub drain was clogged, so I had to pull out the stopper every day.
GGuest UserThe hotel is just in front of the station Gare du nord.Very easy and convenient to go anywhere to Eiffel tower,Louvre museum, and others from here either by bus, metro,Eurostar.U won't get lost.Just the lift for the hotel is a bit small. It can accommodate u and 2 big luggage one time. There is KFC beside the hotel and other cafes. The carrefour is behind the hotel. So u can shop some groceries or snacks also.
DDolmatova TatianaThe hotel's location is excellent: close to the metro, McDonald's, and a grocery store are very close, and all the city center attractions are within walking distance.
The staff is helpful and polite.
The hotel is in good condition, with a working elevator and plenty of TV channels. The room is small, like all Paris hotels.
The most important thing in winter is that the hotel is very warm!
The bathroom had a window :)
Cons:
- No kettle in the room
- Safe doesn't work
- Very small shower stall (barely fits a 90+ kg person)
AAMAKA SPARKLEVery horrible hotel for black female travellers.
I stayed at the Originals with my friend for 3 nights, then another 2 nights. We pre-booked and paid for the 3 nights in FULL before arrival.
Upon arrival, we were charged a deposit of €150 Euros which was explained to be a security deposit to be returned after checkout.I had no issues with that and focused on exploring Paris.
There was a day my room wasn’t cleaned and I complained to a mixed lady at the hotel reception politely to inform the cleaner and she condescendingly looked at me and blurted “I’m not the cleaner”. I never asked her to be one, I only informed her so she can tell the cleaners to make a stop at my room and refill the shower gel, replace soap and toilet paper.
The day I checked out, I missed my flight due to the Paris traffic and had to reschedule my flight to the next available date which was in 48 hours which meant I needs to stay in Paris for another 2 nights. I headed back to the hotel.
I don’t know why but our cards refused to work despite being funded. We had some Euros cash left in cash and paid for one extra night.
The next day, we asked to extend but our cards wouldn’t work. We informed them that we needed to get some sleep but would try an ATM or go to a BDC to change some Dollars.
In between, the cleaner came to the room and yanked off our key card cutting off the light supply, we were barraged with calls from the reception threatening that security was going to escort us out of the room.
It’s wild because most of their staff is black and yet they treated us like ****.
We saw how white guests were treated and black guests and the difference was clear.
Maybe they had an assumption and became discriminatory towards us.
Note that 4 nights out of 5 was already paid in FULL and they had a security deposit of over 200 Euros with them.
We had to abandon everything and rush to an ATM to withdraw more cash💰 to pay for the final day.
Let’s not get into the fact that one of their staff ******* almost tried to be ****** with me.
I got into the elevator to go and get water at the restaurant on the 8th floor, he kept looking at my boobs and made suggestive comments about wanting to spend the night with me. He also insisted on a hug.
I cried from the experience of that hotel and very horrified. As a travel content creator, I will document my experience with videos when I’m back home and share YouTube videos. If you’re a Nigerian or black woman, please avoid THE ORIGINALS. I was excited to be here but it turned into a nightmare.
As a business owner myself and CEO of 3 thriving companies, I saw some many lapses in their customer service. The entire place needs a staff overhaul.
