"We had chosen a very small room, this was good for a night. The location was located to the indoor courtyard and very quiet so we could sleep well. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. We would use this hotel again at any time."

"We had a great stay at Steglitz International. The location is excellent—well connected to public transport, with plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. It was easy for us to get around Berlin from here. We didn’t opt for the breakfast, so we can’t comment on that, but overall, it was a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city."

"This is the hotel I always stay at when I'm on business trips to Berlin. It's conveniently located near the Free University and the subway. It's quiet and the facilities are very clean. The breakfast provided at the hotel is also excellent. Breakfast is crucial when traveling with colleagues, and everyone here is satisfied. Thank you."

"The hotel is modern and very beautiful. There are some restaurants in the immediate vicinity but most of them are not great. However, one bakery is superb (at the campus only a minute walk away). Very friendly staff (the courteous Mr. Kunal checked me in). Unfortunately the coffee which I got as a welcome drink was the worst coffee I had this year (embarassing)."

"the good place for staying. very friendly people at the reception aka coffeeshop. the rooms are nice and clean. all the shared bathrooms are clean too, and not smelly, and everything is working well. what i didnt like is the hearing. the doors to the rooms and bathrooms are so heavy and they make so much noise when being closed so you can hear the claps all the time. And also there was just one socket for charging, which is not enough when you have much equipment while travelling.. But anyways, I was satisfied with this place."

"I originally booked a Cosy Room, but due to a problem with the hotel, I was upgraded to a balcony room on the fifth floor the next day (I booked four nights in total). The room type was excellent. This hotel is very new, only opened this year, and there was a strong smell of renovation. Some rooms were not thoroughly cleaned, so those sensitive to smells and hygiene should choose carefully. Also, the lobby downstairs is very noisy every day because of the restaurants and cafes. I really love this area. It's a 10-minute walk to the shopping street, and there are all kinds of restaurants around. There's also a small park and a church behind the hotel, which made me, a girl, feel very safe."

"The room were quite compact but with the price its affordable. The location its actually quite far from the town. We took public transportation, so near the hotel there were not much option for food. They also do not have iron for clothes, and hot water you have to go down to the bar to get one. The staff however, were very great. Overall its good stay."

"I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked this hotel. On average the reviews were ok, but there were some that had me a bit worried. However after staying here I can definitely say that I fully enjoyed my stay and have no complaints. Location: Excellent! The hotel is just off the main shopping street and has good access to transportation. There are shops, grocery stores and resturants in walking distance. Building: Yes it is an older building but it is well maintained. Sure it could use a few updates but there was nothing that I found wrong. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was no air conditioning but this is expected in most older european hotels and a fan was provided. The shower was very clean, had good water pressure and good temperature. I saw a few people in other reviews complain about having to leave the keys when going out, but this is common in most older hotels in europe where actual keys are used insted of door cards. Its actually a good thing because it avoids you having to be responsible for it and paying a hefty fee to have locks changed if you lose the keys. Service: This was the real winner for me. Everyone was so friendly to me and very helpful. I felt welcomed and I really appreciated this. Price: the price was competative with the market. It wasn't the cheapest but was not expensive. It did offer good value for the price. Overall, I would definitely stay here again."

"Great location—very close to a supermarket, restaurants, shops from Nike and Adidas to Starbucks, a two subway stations (Kurfurstendamm and Zoologischer) to boot (the S-Bahn and the U-Bahn) which connect you to anywhere you want to go in Berlin. The room is relatively large, comfortable and clean. However, the reception is oddly on the 4th floor (which you can take the super small lift up). You have to move around using the stairs. Did I mention there's plenty of restaurants nearby? I love the Vietnamese restaurant just next door called Madami. I would consider staying there again due to its strategic location. "

XXiaolankuangziChoosing the DoubleTree by Hilton is always a good decision. The hotel is perfectly situated right on Kurfürstendamm, with a large Asian supermarket nearby, plenty of restaurants, and within walking distance to both metro and train stations. There's complimentary water refill available on every floor, and the bedding in the rooms is excellent. My only minor suggestion would be for a wider variety at breakfast.

GGuest UserThe hotel was beautifully decorated and in a great location. We stayed there for 3 nights over New Year's Eve. It must be even more beautiful in the summer. The staff are always available and address any issues promptly. It's also really cool that each elevator plays different music. I would recommend it to everyone.

RRPSMWe recently stayed at The Circus Hotel in Berlin, taking two rooms for a short family trip. The experience was, in many respects, excellent. The location is ideal—central, with easy access to public transport and within walking distance of a huge variety of restaurants and shops. Service throughout was truly commendable. Staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful at every turn. The hotel bar is a genuine highlight—stylish, welcoming, and well-stocked. We especially appreciated the honesty bar and terrace upstairs, which made for a beautiful, relaxed afternoon during our stay. Breakfast was another strong point, offering a good variety of quality options in a comfortable setting. The rooms themselves are well-sized, clean, and nicely appointed. However, there’s a major issue that any traveller should be aware of: there is no real air conditioning. What’s provided is what I would describe as a comfort cooling system—more symbolic than functional. During our stay, temperatures hovered around 25 °C during the day and 18 °C at night, yet the rooms remained unpleasantly warm. Both rooms had fans, and the windows had to be opened to let in any real cool air. It’s quite clear that the hotel expects guests to rely on the fans, which is not acceptable given the climate realities of Berlin summers. This significantly affected our comfort and sleep. For travel between late May and early October, I would strongly caution against booking unless you’re completely indifferent to room temperature. It’s unfortunate, because in almost every other respect, The Circus Hotel is a real gem. I genuinely wanted to love it, and in cooler months, I very likely would. But the absence of proper climate control is a deal-breaker in warmer weather, and it’s clear the hotel is aware of the issue—hence the fans in every room. Pros: • Excellent location • Superb service • Great breakfast • Fantastic bar and terrace • Generous room size Cons: • No air conditioning—only a weak cooling system and fans • Rooms become uncomfortably warm even in moderate summer temperatures Conclusion: A brilliant hotel during cooler seasons. But for summer stays, particularly with children or light sleepers, the lack of proper climate control unfortunately outweighs the many positives.

OOlga HladkikhWe stayed at NH Collection Berlin Mitte for two nights over the weekend. Overall, it’s a great value for a short trip. The location is excellent and the staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The room had everything we needed (comfortable bed, great bathroom, TV). The best part was the sauna included in the price — perfect after cold winter walks, and it’s open until 10 pm. Two small downsides: we felt a slight draft from the balcony window (winter stay), and there was a faint “old” smell in the room. Not a big issue, but worth mentioning. We didn’t try breakfast, so can’t comment on food.

FFVR - SPAINI recently stayed at this hotel , and I have to say my experience was a real mix of good and bad. I'll break it down clearly so other travelers know what to expect. Check-in experience I arrived at the hotel AT 21 PM, which was supposed to be the standard check-in time. To my surprise, there was absolutely nobody at the reception desk. I stood there waiting, thinking someone would appear in a minute.. After a while staff member finally came out from a back office. They looked a bit stressed or overwhelmed. The check-in process itself was rushed and cold. Coffee in the room – horrible Another big downside was the in-room coffee. The hotel provides instant powdered coffee – the cheap, soluble type that comes in a small sachet. I made a cup hoping for a decent morning coffee, but it was truly horrible. The taste was artificial, bitter, and had absolutely no real coffee flavour. It honestly tasted like chemicals. In my opinion, a hotel charging these rates should definitely offer capsule coffee (like Nespresso or a compatible system). Powdered coffee is outdated, low-quality, and leaves a terrible impression on guests who appreciate a good cup of coffee to start the day. This is a small detail that makes a big difference. I ended up going out to a nearby café to buy real coffee. THE POSITIVE POINTS Cleanliness – excellent On the positive side, I have to say that the cleanliness of the room was impeccable. The bed sheets were crisp, white, and spotless. The bathroom was perfectly clean – no hair, no dust, no stains. The floors were well swept and mopped. It's clear that the housekeeping staff takes their job seriously and does an excellent job. I felt very comfortable in terms of hygiene and tidiness. The room itself – fine The room was fine. It wasn't luxurious or particularly stylish, but it was perfectly acceptable for a short stay. The bed was comfortable enough, the TV worked well, the Wi-Fi connection was stable, and the air conditioning functioned properly. There was enough space to move around and store my luggage. So for a basic, no-frills stay, the room met expectations.

KKathyGomez0615The room was super clean. The hotel is centrally located. Walking distance from a shopping mall and the train station. We tried ordering room service but we didn’t have a way to do it and when we called reception they basically told us to just look in the room for the menu. We only had a breakfast one. Other than that, everything else was awesome.

GGeiorgiestravelsThis is a very big hostel with hundreds of beds, though it did not feel cramped or loud. I had a quiet stay.   I stayed for 2 nights in a mixed dorm with three bunk beds and en-suite. The toilet and shower are separate which makes use easier. Hanson’s and shower gel is included, as is a hairdryer.   The room is spacious with tables and seating areas, this is also of use to those who on the top bunk who cannot sit on their bed as easily.  There is a mirror though a lack of hooks being only a hook and couple of hangers. The bed is of a metal frame and thus I was able to apply my travel straps and hooks to create places to hand my coat and bag. There is a locker big enough to take hand luggage sized bag (own lock needed).  The bed has a usb port for charging and a slot into which a phone will fit, though no individual light. The room has two lights and it is possible to turn on only one; the other people in my room came in and out at unsociable hours though we’re all respectful being quiet and also putting in the main light.   The mattress and pillow are comfy enough, you need to collect linen and make the bed yourself.  Everything was clean.  Reception is 24 hours though checking us via one of the 4 automated screens. It is through the machines that you do check in and pay tourist tax and the machine prints paper with your allocated room and bed number. You even activate the room card yourself. There is a sign in the desk with a map of blocks with room numbers in each one. That is all the welcome that you get; there is no explanation related to hostel layout or facilities. I had to ask in which direction to go to get to my block, the receptionist gave my directions and once I got to the room and found no bedding on the bed so went back to reception. The check in computer screen states that bed linen is provided free of charge and towels can be paid for at reception. The receptionist did not give me any bedding nor point to where to where to pick it up some thus I assumed the linen would be laid on the bed as in other hostels. The next day a person arriving in the room asked where he gets bed linen, he also did not get given any bedding even when talking with the receptionist. I do find it odd that you are expected to ask for the bedding: as this is the case I recommend updating the wording on the computer screen as it is ambiguous and gives the impression you only need to ask at reception if needing a towel.  There is a guest kitchen which has basic equipment: fridge, sink, microwave, 2 hot plates, 2 frying pans, 1 saucepan, some plates, bowls and some cutlery. There was one mug in which I made a cup of tea by heating water in the microwave. I recommend a kettle to boil water. The kitchen is sufficient for simple meals, making breakfast and sandwiches. I did not try the hostel breakfast.  There is one common area near reception with a bar and possibility to purchase food. Vending machines there. WiFi reliable. The common room can feel cramped when groups are there. There is good security as all entrance doors and lifts use card access. To access the guest kitchen ask at reception and they update your card.  The location is very good being 5 min walk from Ostkreuz train station. It is a direct line to Messe Nord where the bus station and FlixBus stop is. Easy to get public transportation into the cities. There are many shops, supermarkets and eating places nearby. Vegan kebab shop directly opposite.  Good value for money. I had a comfortable stay with no difficulties and I would stay again.

GGuest UserEverything was great! The location is convenient — you can quickly get to any metro station by tram. There is an option to borrow dishes and everything you need for a deposit, which is later returned. It’s clean and comfortable. The only downside is that there are no air conditioners in the rooms.
