The hotel is super convenient, right next to Dali Department Store! However, the room had a strong smell of smoke, like it was embedded in the walls. The inside plastic of the mini-fridge was yellow, and so were the pillow cores! But the room itself was really spacious, and the bed was comfortable. It's just a shame that the duvet and pillows also smelled of smoke 😂. The hotel's location is excellent, and there's a parking lot nearby, even though they don't have a partnership, it's very close!

The room was very spacious. The front desk even provided face masks and instant noodles. There are snacks and drinks available on the first floor. Overall, you can tell the room is in an older hotel that's been renovated, but it's clean and tidy. The entrance hallway is a bit quirky.

The place was very clean and the staff were kind, polite, and spoke English well. They explained everything clearly from the beginning and gave me a full tour of the property. There is a dining area, and before taking the elevator, you need to change your shoes. Each guest has a room number and should place their shoes in the matching shoe rack.
I recommend adding the hotel’s Line account — they will send all the details there. No key is needed to access the room; everything is done using codes. The room is spacious and has a large locker for storage. The shared bathroom was clean and fully equipped with essentials like a toothbrush and towels (including small ones). There is also a modern laundry area that connects two parts of the building through the same door — it feels like one place, not two.
It’s about a 5-minute walk from the BTS station, which is very convenient.
The only downside is that the entrance was confusing when I first arrived. The map pin showed a laundromat, but the actual entrance is on the back side of the building.
Overall, a great stay. I recommend it.

However, the facilities are excellent (they have a beverage bar and a washing machine), and the breakfast is quite good. Considering the room rate, it's very reasonable, offering high overall value for money. If you don't mind being a bit further from the city center, it's a great choice!

The hotel's location is convenient; it's within walking distance of Formosa Boulevard, Kaohsiung MRT Station, and Liuhe Night Market. The mattress in the room was very comfortable for sleeping. The hotel also features many exhibitions of ********* painters, promoting local art. The only minor drawback is that the shower faucet handle seemed a bit old and hard to turn, but the hot water came out quickly and was at a good temperature.

Amazing hotel, friendly staff with guidance and took time to explain rules of Taiwan now that does not provide toiletries such as any type of oral hygiene tools anymore but they do still ask if we needed them and gave us without any second of thought. I thought this gesture was lovely, however only that the location of the hotel is not as ideal but I can also understand as Kaohsiung have yet to be that much of an accessible place unlike Taipei yet. PS: they give out free of charge unlimited TAIWAN snacks and beverages that can be taken from the front desk too!

The location is pretty good, within walking distance of Kaohsiung Station. They have a partnered parking lot where you can park for free, but it's about a 7-minute walk away. The hotel design shows its age, but the cleanliness is well-maintained. The bidet toilet is a plus, but perhaps due to old pipes, there was a constant banging sound in the room, which was annoying and affected my sleep quality. Staying on a weekend with breakfast for under 2000 was quite a good deal for the price. Overall, it's a good choice for saving money.

GGuest UserThis hotel definitely deserves a special shout-out! My experience was fantastic right from check-in. For those who enjoy culinary experiences, I highly recommend checking out their 'one night, two meals' package. I loved the ice cream with nachos at the ground floor cafe. The evening snacks and breakfast on the second floor were also delicious. While it might not have the extensive variety of a typical star-rated hotel buffet, it offers a great chance to try various local snacks. Every single braised meat, minced pork, and topping was incredibly flavorful, and I especially appreciated the thoughtful touch of a rice cooker so you could serve yourself hot rice. You could really tell that the restaurant staff and managers were genuinely dedicated to service and food quality, constantly moving around and attending to guests.
The room was spotless, and the lighting was much brighter than what you'd typically find in comparable hotels. The bathroom was also more spacious. The only minor drawback was a gap of about 1cm under the room door, which made me think the soundproofing might not be great. However, I wasn't disturbed by any noise from outside during my stay.

Moreover, there is SOGO and POYA at other exits, which is convenient. The staff are polite and kind. The room is clean and comfortable. Have Netflix and YouTube, Korean, China and local Taiwan TV channel.

GGuest UserThere's more than one Takahashi Inn around Kaohsiung Station, but this one is right across the street from the station, which was super convenient for me since I had a lot of luggage. The hotel breakfast was excellent; I particularly enjoyed the hot Chinese options like congee, stir-fries, and tremella soup. Their scallion oil crispy pastry was fantastic! (See picture 2). The hotel doesn't serve dinner, but the famous Liuhe Night Market is less than a ten-minute walk away (See picture 3). I especially loved the hotel's 24-hour self-service laundry room.

During our trip to Kaohsiung, we decided to stay at PAPO’A Harbor Hotel, and it turned out to be a great choice for exploring the creative harbor district of the city.
The hotel is located just a short walk from Pier-2 Art Center, one of the most vibrant and artistic areas in Kaohsiung. The neighborhood is filled with street art, converted warehouses, cafés, and galleries, making it a perfect place to wander around both during the day and in the evening. Being able to walk back to the hotel after exploring the area was a big plus.
One of the things that makes PAPO’A Harbor Hotel unique is its character. The building used to be a harbor staff dormitory and has been thoughtfully renovated into a boutique hotel. The design blends industrial elements with modern minimal touches, giving the space a calm and slightly artistic atmosphere that fits perfectly with the surrounding Pier-2 district.
Our room was simple but very comfortable. The bed was cozy, the room was clean, and everything felt well maintained. While the hotel focuses more on design and location than luxury facilities, it provides everything you need for a pleasant stay. Some rooms even offer partial views of the harbor, which adds to the experience of staying in this port city.
Another great advantage is transportation. The Light Rail stop is only a few minutes away, making it easy to reach other parts of Kaohsiung such as Love River, Central Park, or connect to the MRT system.
Overall, PAPO’A Harbor Hotel is a lovely boutique stay for travelers who appreciate design, convenience, and a relaxed harbor atmosphere. It may not be a large luxury hotel, but its charm, location, and unique character make it a memorable place to stay in Kaohsiung.

The hotel is a bit of a walk from the train station though.
Since it’s converted from an old commercial building, you have to climb about 10 steps through the mall to get up to the hotel, not the most convenient if you’ve got big luggage. Also, at night some of the mall doors get locked, so you might need to ask security how to get in, which is a bit of a hassle.
Overall, it’s more suitable for business travelers than leisure ones.
