"Great stay! Facilities are a bit less taken care off for a Novotel. In the average I had a very pleasant stay, with a very amiable staff. I do recommend due to the favorable rates and location close to Rio exit to Minas Gerais that makes traveling back easier and with less traffic."

"Good location just one minute walk from Praça Tiradentes in the historic city centre. The hotel is old and needs some refurbishment. WiFi signal was poor. Nice bathroom. The mattresses were old. Considering the cheap price including free breakfast, I would stay there again."

"I couldn't check in early at 12:30, but they told me around 13:20 that I was ready, which was nice. The location is great, connected to the airport. However, the reception is at the very back, so it's a bit of a walk. It's a very large hotel; the rooms and hallways smelled a bit of disinfectant. There were quite a few people on the rooftop. P1/P2 show the view from the rooftop."

"The location is good for those who are moving by bus. There is a bus station nearby. There are no shops near here. There are no toothbrushes, free fresh water. The view from my room was on favellas. Not bad on the whole, but depends on your goal in trip."

"Great location, but several areas need improvement Arosa Hotel has a great location, right in the heart of Lapa, close to many small local restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, and various stores. It’s very easy to get around — in short, the location is excellent. The rooms are spacious, which is definitely a plus. However, several aspects of the service could be improved. Our check-in experience was particularly unpleasant. We were a group of four, and upon arrival, their system was down. Instead of offering a simple or practical solution, the receptionists — who were quite unfriendly and unhelpful — asked us to scan a QR code and complete a long online form. The form included a number of unnecessary questions, more than what one would typically be asked at immigration when entering Brazil. Additionally, the internet did not work at all during our stay. While this didn’t seem to bother local guests, it was a real inconvenience for us as international visitors. Lastly, while the hotel gives off a grand appearance at first glance, the overall structure could really use some updates and maintenance. To sum up: great potential and excellent location, but the guest experience needs serious attention."

"A very average hotel experience. I will start with the slight complaints: The room was not perfectly clean (the bed skirting was stained, for example), but the sheets, pillows, and mattress were clean. The hotel was a bit loud at times, as you can hear other guests in the hall from inside the rooms. The room service was very slow, and my fiancée’s order was messed up the first time (she recieved the wrong item). However, the kitchen quickly made things right by sending the correct order. My food was alright, and she really liked what she ordered. The room was a decent size. It had a full-sized couch, large bathroom, and a double bed in the room we booked. The shower was amazing. It was the highlight of the trip for me. The room had a view of The Redeemer which was nice. We booked this hotel mostly due to its proximity to Santos Dumont airport; it was perfect for us in that regard. If you have an early flight from SDU, this is an easy hotel to recommend."
