Sami Beach Hotel
"Reasonable run clean hotel spoilt by poor quality breakfast; poor coffee and food selection. Staff don't trust people with trays! Plus points no sunbed shortage, area has relaxed feel, staff friendly and helpful. Free beach sunbeds also good. If they can fill the place in summer not sure they care about breakfast comments. Note Sami area is windier area of Kefalonia so beach/swimming more a challenge."
Garbis Villas & Apartments
"Second visit back to Garbis Villas and all was as we remembered - peaceful, welcoming, great views, relaxed but professional hosts. Amazing views across to Zakynythos and down to Lourdas Beach. Rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels/sheets throughout our visit. A very special place that is a slice of heaven. We will be back."
Thalassa Boutique Hotel - Adults Only
"Beautiful hotel in a very scenic location. The facilities are excellent and so was the breakfast. Very friendly staff as well."
La Signora Hotel
"We didn't expect much, but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a boutique style, very clean, and the room we were in was huge in comparison to some high-end hotels. Nothing was broken. We had sufficient amenities and, believe it or not, an abundance of clothes hangers! We didn't use the pool because we spent time with friends at a nearby villa, but the pool was clean, large enough, and the sunbeds were plentifully available. We would walk past at 10:30 am and still see sunbeds free. (We travelled early Sept, so not sure what it would be like in August). The clientele were mainly older, 60-70-year-olds, at a guess? At 46 I felt young! :) Location: It's a pretty easy 10 min walk down to the beach. An exhausting 20 min walk back up a steep hill! Or, an exhausting 20 min walk further UP the hill to main restaurants and bars, and an easy 10 mins stagger back. In heat, it's easier to get a cab which is about EUR 10 max. We hired a quad to get around places during the day to explore, but if you want a quiet break and don't intend to explore, then a few cabs here and there would be the ideal choice. Room for Improvements: Breakfast was basic, but actually not as poor as some reviews I've read. Bacon was good, beans and eggs. It would be great if poached eggs were an option, and decent sausages. Not sure, as we didn't ask, but lattes would also be nice instead of the Urn coffee. We ate on a Greek night (Sunday) for our only evening meal. It was nice, except that the chicken was dangerously undercooked. We left some as it was more than pink, but a bit fleshy. The next day we both had stomach pains/cramps, and my wife for a further 24 hours too. Luckily, it wasn't worse, but the Chef's chicken cooking needs checking before it goes out. Lastly, cats! With so many strays on the island, it would be good if the Hotel discourages/bans guests from buying Cat food and leaving it everywhere. It stinks, and it's unhygienic. Overall I think the most important question is, would we visit this hotel again, and the answer is yes, absolutely. It was fantastic value."
White Rocks Hotel Kefalonia
"The scenery is very good, breakfast is average"
Porto Skala Hotel Village
"Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a fantastic 10 day holiday in July 2025 with our children (age 14 - 23). The hotel is so cute with all the different coloured apartments and the rooms are cool (air conditioned), spacious, comfortable and cleaned every morning with fresh linen and towels. All with a beautiful sea view from the balcony. The pool is just perfect, with plenty of space for everyone and always enough sun loungers. There’s also a poolside bar offering snacks, drinks (hot/cold/cocktails) and lunch menu. The buffet breakfast was nice and had plenty of options. It did get busy towards the end of service so we tended to go early and beat the rush. We didn’t have the dinner option as it was very expensive and with better, cheaper options in the nearby town we were happy to venture out for dinner. The town was quite a walk from the hotel so we took advantage of the hotel bus which ran morning - evening. You just need to book at reception, the staff were always extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful. Especially Evelyn - she was an absolute ANGEL and made so much effort to ensure we were happy and had everything we could want and more! I would say it would be beneficial to hire a car as there isn’t much close by and with the temperatures in the high 30s you should ensure it has air conditioning! There is parking across the road from the hotel. As well as two stunning little coves with crystal clear water where our children enjoyed snorkelling to see all the fish. The water was clean and cool - so refreshing on the hottest days. Overall this was a fab holiday that I would recommend. Only thing I would change would be to hire a car so we could travel at our leisure and see more of the island and maybe go slightly earlier or later in the year when it’s not so hot. I also think it would be a great idea for the hotel to have music at the bar in the evenings as it’s such a beautiful spot. There’s lovely seating outside reception overlooking the sea but didn’t ever see anyone serving at that bar. With some music on and a drink with that view it would be just perfect "

"Beautiful facility, friendly and welcoming staff. A little carelessness in the maintenance of the greenery."
Electra Kefalonia Hotel & Spa
"I had such a wonderful experience at the spa today. Although I’m not staying at the hotel, I booked a massage and I’m so glad I did. My massage therapist, Antonia, was absolutely incredible. She was so friendly and kind, and gave one of the best massages I’ve ever had. I usually go for strong Thai massages, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from a relaxing massage, but it was fantastic. The pressure was perfect, and she really helped ease the pain and tension in my back. I left feeling so much better. I’d also like to thank the lovely receptionist who welcomed me when I arrived. She and Antonia were both so warm and friendly, and they made me feel completely at ease. They also arranged for me to enjoy the sauna and steam room after my treatment, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. Before my massage, I had lunch by the pool, and it was absolutely delicious. The food tasted incredibly fresh, the setting was beautiful, and the service was excellent. A thank you to Chris, who was so helpful and happy to offer advice for the rest of my stay in Kefalonia. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kefalonia. Even if you’re not staying there, it’s well worth booking a spa treatment and enjoying lunch. I’ll definitely be back!"
Kefalonia Grand

Summer Sun
"2nd visit and just as good as the first. Lovely apartment, very friendly owners. The apartments are in a good location up a hill. Ideal spot for us with just a short walk into the centre. Booked already for our 3rd visit. Lovely quiet location with breath taking views. Highly recommend"
Leivatho Hotel
"Absolutely beautiful hotel in quiet location but very near to our favourite beach (Avithos). The staff are friendly, kind and helpful. It’s a very relaxed environment. The hotel itself is chic and comfortable. The pool is crystal clear. Absolutely love this place. Having been twice now, will go again!"
OLIVEMARE
"We were completely blown away by Olivemare. The owner Marilena is incredibly helpful and friendly, the food is fantastic, and the rooms are super stylish and comfortable, with a gorgeous private patio area. There are only 5 rooms, so the pool never feels busy, and it's a great size. Breakfast was fabulous with delicious freshly-squeezed orange juice, cheese from the owner's goats, freshly-cooked eggs, and daily specials such as fava, and spinach pie."
Simatos APARTments & Studios
"We have just returned from the lovely Simatos apartments. It is the most relaxing place , the apartments are amazing, everything you may need , the gardens and splash pool are a little oasis . Stella and Lambro and staff are so friendly and helpful . Amazon place"
F Zeen Kefalonia
"Wasnt so clean."
Casaly Hotel & Spa
"If you are thinking of visiting Kefalonia and staying in Argostoli, I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel as it just cannot be faulted. Rated as 5 star, it didn't live up to expectations, it exceeded them in every aspect. Location, room, spa, dining and housekeeping were on point throughout our 10 night stay. What really did make this a stand out holiday were the hotel staff across the whole spectrum, but with a special and deserved mention to the ladies at reception who exemplified the meaning of customer service, delivered with a lovely Kefalonian smile. Thank you to everyone who made our holiday at the Casaly hotel both fantastic and memorable. Mark & Jenny."
Eliámos Villas Hotel & Spa – Relais & Châteaux
"This is an exceptionally good hotel and we enjoyed it very much. It's the first time I've stayed in a hotel like this and the communal pool has been so quiet - absolutely zero stress about will we get a sun lounger. The hotel is so small and intimate you feel really well cared for and heard. Our room was beautiful and we enjoyed the breakfast and food in the restaurant - very good. We had a massage and facial too - both excellent. Really beautiful views also. Found all the staff to be really kind and helpful. A truly wonderful and relaxing place to stay and we will return. Only downside is I think the price point is quite high but that wouldn't stop me coming again. We hired a car which I would say is a must. We loved Dafnoudi Beach in the north, Assos, hiring a boat for the day and going to the volcanic beach and white rock beach and the underground lake caves."
Ionian Emerald Resort
"Great hotel & location just a short walk from the lovely karavamylos taverna 200 yards away to the left and a comfy 20 mins stroll away from Sami with plenty of tavernas & shops. Hotel staff were all lovely and smiling. Breakfast was plentiful. We didn't eat here in the evening as no atmosphere in the bar or restaurant. I did find it quite annoying that the pool was shared with the 3* hotel up the road, especially as there is a 5* climate tax payable here! 105 euro for a 7 night stay! The pool bar regularly ran out of draft beer.. 6 euro for a large beer 5 euro for a 330ml can! Not on really for a 5* "resort plus the 2 euro cover charge if you wanted to eat there, regardless of whether you was staying there or not. Basically, nice hotel, great location & staff... would I stay there again... probably not"
Celestial All Suites
""We had a fantastic stay at Celestial All Suites! The long pool is stunning, and having a private pool in our room made it feel extra special. What really set this place apart, though, was the service—especially from Daniel. He was absolutely everywhere! He served us at the bar, looked after us by the pool during the day, and then waited on us again at dinner in the evening. His knowledge of hospitality is impressive, and he made every interaction feel warm and personal. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. Thank you again, Daniel, for making our stay so memorable. We can't recommend Celestial All Suites enough!""
Makis Hotel
"Lovely quiet hotel, had Sea facing room , beautiful. Only downside they charge for sun beds on the beach opposite the hotel, that is unnecessary especially as staying at hotel. Breakfast nice , staff friendly. Lots of bars and resturants 5 min walk away ."
Melidron Hotel
"Could say that the title says it all. Which it does, but doesn’t show the whole picture! As a group of 12, then 13, “senior” friends made over many years of footballing adventures, playing and/or watching, Wendy and owner Efie mustn’t really have known what to expect when our booking was made early in the year. Circumstances last summer meant rooms were rather unusually available as it turned out. Luckily for us! From Wendy’s initial greeting, & very helpful later advice whenever required, with rooms soon allocated (sea/pool view for me and my room-mate 😀), very clean btw and kept so by the cleaners, nice cold drinks at the pool bar quickly appeared, served by Theo and Aris, who soon got to know us, along with Costas who appeared later that day. All were extremely friendly, as were the other staff, and we got to know several other guests pretty well during our stay. We were even thanked for providing great entertainment (not planned!) by some! A Rock Music night was put on at our request (though some other music was included as the evening went on…Ernie??? Oh dear!!), & arranging for pizzas and chips for our last (quieter) night watching the England last 16 game. Special thanks from us all go to Wendy for putting up with our humour and banter, and finally Efie, who we didn’t really get to speak to until our farewells were said. Personally, I’d love to return sooner rather than later, but with my wife next time. A much quieter holiday then, maybe even with our daughter too (for Costas that one! 😉😄). Oh yes. Skala itself isn’t bad either!!"
Avithos Resort Hotel
"We booked this hotel looking forward to our stay after reading many positive reviews, but sadly we were left disappointed. The hotel grounds are lovely – beautifully maintained with a stylish layout that is very appealing. However, there were several areas that we felt really let the experience down. Firstly, the food and drinks are extremely overpriced for what they are. The restaurant and bar felt unreasonable, and €7 for a single ice cream cone is just not acceptable. The kitchen setup in our accommodation was also disappointing – we only had two bowls despite there being four of us, and the plates were stored so high up that I couldn’t even reach them. I understand they’re trying to keep the space compact, but it didn’t feel practical. We knew in advance that the location was quiet, so that’s not the hotel’s fault, but as fairly regular visitors to Greece, we found the local restaurants weren’t quite up to the standard we expected. Of course, this is just a personal opinion, but it did affect our overall impression. On a positive note, it was nice that there were inflatables available for children. However, I feel the hotel could improve family facilities by adding a small play area with swings, a slide, or similar – little touches like this go a long way. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return as we felt the overall experience didn’t match the price we paid."
Mouikis Hotel Kefalonia
"The hotel has a great location, not far from the beach, and plenty of restaurants nearby. There's a small supermarket to the right of the hotel entrance where you can buy yogurt and other similar items. Behind the hotel is a commercial street where you can shop, but the shop owners are quite casual, and some close very early. The room has a small balcony, not too big or too small. The only drawback is the poorly designed bathroom; the shower is too small, and the toilet paper isn't even next to the toilet! You can arrange airport or ferry pick-up through the hotel on Ctrip, but this will incur an additional fee."
Emelisse Nature Resort
"Hotel is positioned on a beautiful part of the island. The grounds are lush and pool is great. We loved everything here as far as the environment, views, amenities and our room, but the service was quite poor specially with the front desk. Our room was directly by the pool, and two nights in a row live music was playing at the pool restaurant until 11pm, which is great if you are there enjoying it, but not when you have a small child and trying to put them to bed. The next day when I told the front desk member that the music was very loud in our room and we were unable to sleep he just said yes we can play music until 11. When I pushed further and asked if we could be moved the answer was no. And that was that. I was stunned at this terrible customer service. I appreciate the hotel was fully booked but a simple gesture, an apology or sympathy would have gone a long way."
Odyssey Boutique Hotel
"We have just returned from a perfect holiday at Odyssey Boutique Hotel, and honestly, we could not have asked for more. First and foremost, we would like to praise the amazing staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, positive, and always willing to help. They truly made the atmosphere of the holiday even better. A special thank you goes to the kitchen team and especially to the lovely lady who manages it (unfortunately, we do not remember her name) for her kindness and warm hospitality. The hotel is maintained to an exceptional standard. Everything is clean, well cared for, and of the highest quality. We did not notice any neglected areas during our stay. The rooms are huge and cozy, and the beds are comfortable. There are plenty of comfortable sun loungers around the pool, relaxing bean bags, and two beautiful pools that were almost always quiet. The location is excellent — surrounded by great restaurants, just a few minutes’ walk from a hidden and beautiful beach with calm waters and almost no waves, and only about a 5-minute walk from the center of the village with many restaurants and supermarkets. Our return flight was very early in the morning, and the hotel kindly prepared a packed breakfast and bottles of water for us to take with us. We were also pleasantly surprised by the minibar prices, which were very reasonable compared to many other hotels. Without a doubt, we would love to return and enjoy again the peaceful, relaxing, and welcoming atmosphere that Odyssey offers. There were only two points that prevented us from giving a full 5-star rating: Unfortunately, the food did not always meet our expectations. Apart from the cheese pastry and pancakes at breakfast, we found the options rather ordinary. We also tried four different pasta dishes for lunch, and unfortunately found them lacking in flavor. This was especially disappointing after reading reviews describing the restaurant as being at a very high culinary level. The second point was the spa area. We were really looking forward to enjoying the jacuzzi, sauna, and massages, but unfortunately, due to an accident of the spa manager, the facilities were unavailable during our stay. We completely understand that massages could not be provided, but we were disappointed that the entire spa area was closed. Despite these two points, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Odyssey Boutique Hotel. We would definitely consider returning in the future."
Tetra Retreat
"We were the first guests at this hotel, and spent 10days here we stayed in the swim up sea front room, ( we highly recommend this room to stay) by far the nicest room we have stayed in, it had stunning views which had the sun until late evening , we had the warmest welcome by all the staff, they couldn’t have done more for us, we really enjoyed our stay here it was the perfect chill out location, the hotel was walking distance to a few good restaurants, I would highly recommend renting a car for a few days of your trip too if you like a adventure thanks to everyone at the hotel for our great experience."
