"First, the front desk didn't speak much English. The hotel doesn't have a laundry room. The door lock is a key lock, requiring you to press it from the inside before leaving. I booked a room for May 17th. When I checked in at noon, I was given a room in the back, as pictured. The window looked like this: completely opaque. The rest of the layout and amenities were very different from the pictures. I asked to change rooms, but they said they wouldn't have new rooms until 8 PM. They told me I could change then, but I really wanted the afternoon sun. What was the point of changing at night? Then I wanted to do some laundry, but they said there wasn't a laundry room, and if I paid them to do it for me, they wouldn't give it to me until the next day. So I did it myself. I did it at 8 PM that night, and by 12 AM the next day, some of my clothes were still damp. I asked for a two-hour delay in checkout because I hadn't been assigned the right room. The front desk clerk said today that I couldn't check out for two hours because the room type I was assigned wasn't correct. The staff member who handled it yesterday wasn't responsible. I was assigned the wrong room to begin with, and I had to pay extra to air dry my clothes and check out later? I didn't pay. As I was writing this review, I was wearing my slightly damp underwear and found two stools on the first floor of the hotel to hang my clothes. It felt pretty miserable. It's been a long time since I've seen a hotel with such poor service and management."

"When I was a child I used to dream about a house. Now I am 54 and when I get to La Casona I finally met that house. It's a very nice hotel and the staff are very attentive. The hotel decoration is a must, very interesting. My experience there was great. I recommend it for sure."

"We visited Iquitos in the Amazon rainforest and stayed for two nights. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, answering all our questions. The room was large, as was the bathroom, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which is essential in a tropical rainforest. What touched us most was that, due to unfamiliarity with the local area, we bought the wrong train tickets, and the refund process was complicated. The young man at the front desk patiently helped us for over two hours, until midnight, without complaint. We felt bad troubling him. The next morning, we left for the airport at 4:30 am, and to our surprise, he was already up, waiting for us in the lobby, worried that our taxi booking might be wrong, and escorted us to our taxi. I want to say thank you to him! This is a truly wonderful hotel!"
