"I requested wechat contact via Trip.com a few days before arrival and the hotel responded promptly. I enquired about pick-up and drop-off from the train station and the hotel advised, they can make arrangements but I have to pay the driver directly which I agreed to and they arranged. Looking back on it now,  I'm glad I did because the hotel was right in the middle of the scenic area and getting to it myself or a taxi would have been a nightmare as we had to drive through tight alleyways with pedestrians crossing over the road both ways. There is no DIDI here, I was told. The driver beeped his horn constantly and got us to the hotel in one piece. Checked in immediately and was shown to my room. The room itself was a little tight but the view of the river was fantastic with the lights from buildings reflecting of it. The female staff that showed me to my room advised not to flush tissue down the toilet. That is never a good sign... The bed was soft and comfortable but I feel the bathroom needs a revamp. The shower cubicle was quite tight and you couldn't move in it. There is no breakfast in the hotel itself but there are alot lot of food stands next to the hotel where you can grab something to eat or if you walk up or down the river, there are cafés or restaurants you can pop into. The hotel also recommends their restaurant opposite for dinner or lunch with some percentages off the bill which was a nice perk. Dinner there was awesome! The hotel itself is in a great location and I would no doubt recommend it. The staff are friendly and helpful."

"This guesthouse is located right by the Tuojiang River; you just cross the road and go down some steps to reach the riverside. The room is quite spacious, neat, and clean. The guesthouse also offers free Miao traditional clothing for guests to try on. There's free parking available, though it's not right next to the guesthouse. You can drive to the guesthouse entrance to drop off your luggage, then go park. The parking lot isn't far, about a 6-7 minute walk. The landlady was very welcoming and helped us with our bags. She readily provided extra bottles of water when we asked. For such a prime location along the Tuojiang River, the price is very reasonable, offering great value for money."

"【Doudou Travels the World】 **Location:** Located in the core downstream area of the ancient city, it offers a serene and quiet atmosphere, free from the usual hustle and bustle, while still being immersed in the ancient city vibe. The river view is expansive. The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from the high-speed rail station, and taxis can drop you off directly at the hotel entrance, which is very convenient, especially for guests with a lot of luggage. Many B&Bs in the ancient city require walking a certain distance after getting out of the car. Although it's downstream, it's actually only about a one-kilometer walk to the center of the scenic area, Hongqiao Wind and Rain Bridge. Walking upstream along the Tuojiang River, browsing the small shops along the river, and admiring the stilt houses on both banks, you won't feel the distance at all. Right outside the hotel, there's a stone pier bridge. On the first afternoon we arrived, perhaps due to the river swelling from rain the day before, the river water had just barely covered the stone piers. Walking across it with slippers and a child was an interesting experience. The next day, the water level dropped, and all the stone piers were exposed. **Facilities:** The hotel facilities are complete and relatively new, with a Chinese-style decor. The rooms aren't particularly large, mostly featuring wooden furniture. The public areas are elegantly designed with many artificial miniature landscapes. On the first floor, there are several riverside tea areas. Guests in rooms without balconies can enjoy a pot of tea on the first floor and slowly appreciate the scenery of the Tuojiang River. **Hygiene:** The hygiene conditions are excellent. From the bedding to the bathroom and shower, everything is clean and tidy. **Food:** Breakfast is served at a restaurant adjacent to the hotel. It's comparable to the breakfast quality of a standard budget hotel. Given that it's a B&B, one can't really expect much more from breakfast. Basic options are available, such as porridge, noodles, eggs, milk, etc. **Service:** The service deserves extra points. They proactively called to confirm our estimated arrival time. Without us asking, they upgraded our room from the first floor to the second floor, offering a better view. After check-in, the front desk staff escorted us to our room, explaining important details along the way, such as closing windows and doors promptly to prevent mosquitoes, and breakfast times. The hotel also offers shuttle services to Hongqiao and Wanshou Palace. After a long day of exploring the ancient city, we were tired and didn't want to walk back in the evening. We called the hotel driver from a Ruixing Coffee near Hongqiao, and he arrived in about ten minutes. Additionally, on the night before our departure, the hotel asked if we needed to book a taxi for check-out. A word of advice for future guests: it's best to let the hotel arrange it, even if it might be slightly more expensive than a regular taxi (the vehicle type is also different, with hotel-arranged taxis being more premium). This is because Fenghuang Ancient City does not use Didi ride-hailing, and while there's a local ride-hailing platform, no one seems to take orders. So, if you encounter peak summer travel, trying to hail a taxi on the street might make you miss your high-speed train. **Overall Impression:** The two most important factors I consider when choosing a B&B are local characteristics and hygiene, and this place satisfies both. It's definitely worth experiencing."

"It was an amazing hotel, you could literally not ask for more. First, our room was upgraded to a suite. We were having a difficult trip so far, and it felt really nice to be in such a luxurious room. There is a beautiful bath by the window, ornate decorations and a scenic balcony, I would definitely recommend it. Then, there is the location, it is literally perfect. It is far away enough from the center to avoid crowds and noise, but close enough to walk to the most popular spots through a beautiful river path. It also has some of the most beatiful bridges and sights right in front of it with river acess straight from the restaurant. To top it all off, there is the concierge Tian Tian, who solved all our requests, always responding instantly and organizing transport for us, both to attractions and the train station. With her, you can truly relax during your stay. Because of her, we would definitely recommwnd this hotel and would love to return ourselves one day."

"We took a taxi from the railway station to Fenghuang Ancient Town, as we discovered that DiDi was not available in the area. Showing the driver “风桥 (Fengqiao)” helped identify the correct drop-off point. The journey took approximately 15–20 minutes and cost around 25–26 yuan. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the hotel staff at the entrance to the ancient town. The hotel was located just a few steps away, making the transfer very convenient. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. One of the highlights was the balcony overlooking the river, which allowed us to enjoy the beautiful scenery and soak in the unique atmosphere of Fenghuang Ancient Town without even leaving the room. The combination of the excellent location, scenic river views, and attentive hospitality made our stay very enjoyable. We would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Fenghuang Ancient Town."

"This homestay is the perfect location if you want to explore Fenghuang ancient town. The rooms were spacious, clean and had an incredible view of the bridge from our balcony. It was one of our favourite places we’ve booked during our trip in China, we would 100% come back to this hotel the next time we visit Fenghuang. The hosts were extremely responsive and provided great suggestions on where to visit and eat. The breakfast delicious and the hosts really made sure we had everything! The city doesn’t have the cab hailing service, so she even made sure we had a car who could drop us off at the railway station in the morning. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

"The B&B is really close to the ancient town, and they offer a super thoughtful pick-up/drop-off service. Our river-view room had its own balcony and was spacious and clean. Staying in June, we didn't encounter any mosquitoes, which was lovely. At night, the view of the ancient town's river scenery was absolutely stunning! The owner (auntie) and the butler (young man) were both incredibly kind and even gave us great recommendations for delicious food and fun routes to explore. Our stay this time was fantastic; it truly felt like a home away from home!"

"The room was clean and tidy, right by the Tuojiang River. You just go down the stairs and you're there. At night, sitting at the entrance, you can enjoy the beautiful night view of Tuojiang and feel the breeze, which is very pleasant. The owner was very welcoming, proactively picked us up and helped us with our luggage. They also provided free water toys for the kids and gave us watermelon and oranges, which felt very heartwarming. I highly recommend this guesthouse; the service is excellent."

"This was my first time staying at Atour, and in Fenghuang Ancient City, the only chain hotel brands available are domestic ones like Atour, Hanting, and Orange. A popular scenic spot really should introduce more international and domestic chain hotel brands, rather than just relying on conservative local hotels and guesthouses. Without market competition, it's easy to become insular, leading to outdated accommodation facilities and services. More lodging options would also help tourists avoid falling into 'photo trap' scams, as the overall guest experience is a crucial part of a scenic spot's reputation. Atour, in my experience, was quite good. The in-room facilities were new, clean, and well-designed. Upon closer inspection, I found that all the details were well thought out, anticipating guests' needs. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was outstanding—the beef rice noodles were delicious. I believe Atour has the potential to become a high-end brand, setting a benchmark for hotels both domestically and internationally. Across the street is an Orange hotel, and through an alley, you can reach the Tuojiang River, making it very convenient to get to various attractions in the ancient city. My only minor complaint is that although it's away from the noisy bar areas of the ancient city, my room faced the main road. I could still clearly hear people talking loudly on the street and cars passing by at night. However, considering its convenient location near the ancient city, I can't be too picky – it's just a small drawback. Don't worry too much about whether the ancient city is overly commercialized; if you're just looking to relax, wander around, enjoy the sights, and snap some photos, it's definitely worth a visit."

"Facilities: Comprehensive. The rooftop area is great for drying clothes. The shower, toilet, and vanity are all separate, which is very convenient and rarely seen. Cleanliness: Clean. Environment: Very quiet, and just a few minutes' walk from the main scenic area. Service: Excellent attitude and very attentive service! Phoenix High-Speed Rail Station pick-up/drop-off: Fantastic, a real highlight. They also offer a free self-service breakfast with enough variety, truly value for money. Overall, highly recommended. I was too lazy to take many photos of the room, so you can refer to others'. The photos I took are of the night view from the rooftop, didn't take any others."
