"Service: was really good. The receptionist lady gave us a lot of helpful information and was constantly available. I was really grateful for the service. Our rooms were cleaned daily, we got fresh water and towels. She also helped us get a ride to the train station, as there are limited drivers in this area (plan your departure ahead of time).
Room: the room has an amazing view. We enjoyed the balcony so much that we spent a lot of time there just taking in the scenery and enjoying ourselves. At night it looked even better. We visited during peak season (international workers holiday) and still the room was relatively quiet at night. Everything was exceptionally clean. The rain shower was appreciated as well. We also got vanity kits and so on. The bathroom is a little small for people over 190 cm (you should be fine if you are shorter).
The bed was comfortable and big. The only thing we missed was a Minibar (or fridge). The TV unfortunately wasn't a smart TV.
Location: the hotel is located in the central city. You won't miss a thing. There are restaurants nearby and all sorts of scenic spots. If you go outside, turn left and walk until the end of the street you'll even find a shop offering coffee ☕ (which is quite rare)."

"Excellent hotel in every sense. The people at the reception are very friendly. They provided a very detailed summary of the key sights which should be visited and suggested an itinerary for Fenghuang ancient town. They also helped carry my luggage up to the room during check in, and to the taxi when we left.
The hotel is very well located in the old town, directly adjacent to the rivers edge in the scenic area.
The room was great. Two rooms, 2 king sized
beds with new mattress and bright while quilts. The room was newly renovated with nice ceramic tiling and a large walk in shower.

Staff incredibly helpful.
Lots of stairs everywhere in and around main attractions so might not suit everyone, but if it's not a problem for you then staying here is a bit like living in a dream come true.
Fenghuang's historic Tower is 50 metres away, and boat rides are a minute further along.
Countless authentic restaurants are within 5-10 minutes away and my favourite Luckin Coffee shop was a minute along from the Rainbow Bridge.
There's a vibrant night life so music from many bands blares across the river from 7pm to 11pm. I was so worn out from days of exploring that I never noticed and fell asleep quickly on the room's massive and comfortable king sized bed.
I experienced near perfect weather over 2.5 days and can say that Fenghuang was a much better overall experience than either Lijiang or Dali's very popular ancient towns."

Fenghuang ancient city is a amazing, nice place. However, taking taxi is a bad experience. If your group is more than 2 persons, recommend to taking city bus directly without delay.
The hotel staff met us at the bus station and fetch us to hotel. Location was very convenient as it's near to the Hongqiao Bridge.
Our room for 4 persons is small as we have 4 large luggages and not much walkway.
The room was comfortable, and had a fantastic balcony with amazing view.

"It is strongly recommended that if it is a birdcage room, it is better for one person!
If you want normal comfort! You must have enough money to get a big room!
The whole hotel is distributed in the ”Shenfeng Scenic Area”, with small bird cages and big houses in a unique shape! Very interesting! It's just that some of the infrastructure in the birdcage room will be very poor, but the big room (expensive) is much better. In addition, it takes a lot of physical strength to enter and exit the hotel (except for the elevator at the beginning).
You can visit the Shenfeng Scenic Area in your spare time, and there is also a light show at night in the Shenfeng Temple Square not far away (high), and there are performances when the weather is good!
It is worth mentioning that the ”breakfast”! I read other people's comments that the breakfast is very bad. But my experience is really good.
”Steamed” eggs are definitely better than outside.
Steamed dumplings are also very delicious!
Cabbage is just as good! There is no feeling of being particularly bad.
The most surprising and interesting thing is the cartoons on the connecting corridors between the various guest rooms in the hotel. There is also a twelve zodiac trail! (There is no way at the end, so you need to go back)
Oh, by the way! There are real peacocks in the high-rise area of the scenic area (higher than the Shenfeng Temple Square)! Alive!
There is also a large area of ”pompom flowers” in an area called ”Flying Bird Camp”.
The entire scenic area can be visited in 2 hours (my hiking ability)! And it was in the rain! There was no one! I felt like I had entered the ”fairyland” because there was really no one except me. Oh! Be careful of snakes, I didn't encounter any (fortunately)! I didn't go to the Nanhua Temple at the highest point, and it was definitely not because I was too tired to climb up, but because there was a locked door and no one opened it.

The location of the accommodation is not on the river but near the river. Add a little money and you can choose a room with a river view. It is near Nanhua Bridge, so there is no noise from the pubs at night.
When you arrive at Fenghuang Station, the accommodation will let you pick up a Maglav ticket, sit and enjoy the view, go to the station near the accommodation and let the car pick you up, help you carry your luggage.
Importantly, the accommodation has free local costumes, you can change into them for walking around or taking pictures without any conditions.
Before leaving, they also gave us snacks, helped us carry our luggage to the taxi."

"This homestay has one of the best service and cleanliness standards in China. Because many hotels in extremely developed touristy area like Phoenix Ancient Town would be very much substandard but this homestay is not only of high standards, it is in a superb location too. Also they too will loan you a set of Miao costume for a one night stay, gor you yo wear to take photos.
Only one thing about homestays and guesthouses in China, the more authentic it is, the more possibility that there will be no elevator. And that is another thing my friend was complaining about.
My advice would be for people who like my friend has knee issues, to book building A because the elevator serves only up to level 4 of this building. Building B is higher and I presume better view but you gotta use stairs.
All in all, its fantastic and the rooms are same as the photos so no unpleasant surprises."

What an outstanding piece of architecture that blends so well in the ancient city. All the modern amenities you could ask for. The tranquility environment gives you peace when you stay there.
The service was exceptional over and above what most hotels give. Our special thanks to the owner who provided us with generous and wonderful hospitality. Thanks to the girls who helped us to move our luggage out to the main road. She also recommended restaurants and nearby attractions.
The room was modern, spacious and luxurious. The lighting and decor in the room was so thoughtful. The mattress was so comfortable and everything was sparkly clean.
The breakfast was freshly made, it was delicious. The location was at the centre of the ancient city but you wouldn't hear the noise. A lot of people come to take photos at the main door.
We love this place and will come back again, ❣️

We loved the terrace. The seats were very comfortable and we had a great view.
Cherry on top we could see a fantastic show at night.
We could also enjoy the sight of the dragon boat at night.
Bare in mind that there is no pickup from the train station. But you can take the subway and they'll come and pick you up. If your party counts 4 members, I recommend taking a cab or a didi (just like the hotel recommended us).
That said, we were given free rides to visit the city.
They can also arrange a car for you to visit other sites (paying service).
We had huge and high quality towels as well as disposable hand towels.
The toilet was a washlet like the ones we have in Japan.
The hotel was very clean. Unfortunately, they were some remodeling going on on the first floor when we stayed there and the smell of the solvent was unpleasant.
They did not have enough sitting to accommodate proper sitting for everyone but we took our breakfast up to our private terrace and enjoyed it very much.
The breakfast is a set breakfast. We could choose between 2 types of Chinese breakfast.
I can't say that I loved the breakfast but it was nice.
You can arrange it with many sauces, condiments and plenty of fresh chives and cilantro.
You can even ask for seconds.
The butler was very kind and helpful, as well as the rest of the staff as a matter of fact.
They also have a washing machine that you can use for free but you have to take care of the drying yourself.
My family and I got sick from a previous food intoxication and we were happy that we stayed in such a nice hotel.
Fenghuang old city is very festive so it can get noisy at night but the terrace's windows are of very good quality, therefore it did not bother us much. It is possible that you can hear your neighbors though.
All in all, despite being sick we had a wonderful experience at this hotel. We were happily surprised to receive a farewell gift.
We definitely recommend the place and we go back to this hotel without hesitation.

SSai FernIt’s an excellent location just next to the magnetic train station 浮池站，three stops from the high speed train station. Very close walk to the attraction area along the river. We have a big family room with free excellent breakfast. The front desk service is excellent with very good service and free self serve laundry and detergent. Free pick up or send off either way and receive a free gift when leaving. I highly recommend this place.

CChoycpsService was great! The host offered free transfers from the train station and they helped with our luggage as cars are not allowed to be driven into the hotel area. Location is great as it is walking distance to eateries and shopping area.
The room has a really nice view of the entire ancient city and it is very clean. The host was very friendly and recommended places for us to go to.

I personally would stay no more than one night. You pay for the great location - right on the river and by all the hustle and bustle. The party does not stop at 10pm - I swear it was loud outside until 2am and you definitely hear it.
The room we chose (with a large patio) was extremely small and cramped. We couldn't enjoy our patio during the summer because there were so many mosquitoes at the door. We left a mosquito-repellant incense at the patio door and that helped a little, but we didn't dare having tea outside like we originally wanted.
The hotel also didn't feel secure. Our room was by the back door, which stayed open for most hours of the day. It was very convenient to get to our room, but the open door felt like a safety hazard. They said that they would close it at midnight, but that is too late for my comfort.
Service was okay at best. They tried contacting us before we arrived but we don't have a Chinese phone number. Responses through WeChat were a bit slow during some hours, and sometimes the front desk was empty. Perhaps we were just unlucky. The morning we left, the manager lady seemed the most competent and warm, but everyone else was a bit lackluster.
The room is old, and the bathroom has rusting metal. Toiletries were at least covered the essentials. No welcome snacks, but at least there were two bottles of water. Is it bad for us to expect more at the price we're paying? Among all the high end hotels we stayed at during our trip at this price point, this was the least impressive by far. The hotel pictures felt misleading on terms of quality and cleanliness.

GGuest UserWe are very happy to choose Xiangxi hotel to stay during our visit to Fenghuang. The hotel is easy to find and taxi dropped us in front of the lobby. Staffs are very nice, friendly and helpful. They gave us welcome fruit and maps and offering support throughout the stays. Rooms are clean and big. Breakfast is good with various local meals. When we are about to leave the hotel, they arranged drop off to station for free and even gave us some local food to bring. What a pleasant surprise. We really enjoy beautiful Feng huang while staying there. Thank you all Xiangxi staffs for giving us wonderful experience.

GGuest UserSuperior location Located next to the bus terminal 'Round trip to the HSR station is only a 15-minute drive away. The facilities in the hotel rooms are very new and clean, with good sound insulation. The waiters from the front desk to the cleaning are very responsible. They have introduced the fun places in Phoenix Ancient City and where to play at the corresponding time. It would be better if the hotel breakfast can be filled with more fruits.

EEatPrayTravelPros: very quick in addressing issues. One day there was no hot water and the hotel responded in a very short time and remedied the problem. Also hotel did a courtesy drop off to a local bus station, which was greatly appreciated. It was an uphill climb and would have been a challenge with luggage. Hotel location was quiet. Heating, water pressure and hot water all very good. Hotel staff also gave us a restaurant recommendation which was very good. Breakfast was good.
Cons: don’t be fooled by the description of 180 degree view of the river. It has two buildings on both sides blocking the view, as we found out after checking in. The walk to the ancient village is about 10 minutes from the Hotel, and longer on the way back because there is a bit of uphill climb.
