Steigenberger Makadi

We arrived on the 2nd May for our third visit to this most wonderful hotel. Lovely to see everyone again and glad to call this a home from home. We had a wonderful time and chilled out around the pool whilst being spoilt rotten with fruit cocktails and ice creams. This has been said many times before in previous reviews but all the staff can not do enough for and are genuinely happy to do so. Please tip as much as you can as they all deserve every penny. No sun bed wars and plenty of loungers. Ambient music around the pool to relax to or read as we did. Great food from breakfast to evening meal with plenty of choice. Just as a tip, the dress code for evening meal is formal so long trousers and shirt for gents and Dress for the ladies. Coming back in November/December for my 60th Birthday and cant wait.

Best thing about the hotel is the service and the team overthere. Room was excellent amenities were great. Food was amazing. Beach was really relaxing Warm regards for Mr.Ahmed Fateen at the reception and Mr. Moustafa at the restaurant. :).

This is the first time we’ve ever returned to the same hotel twice after first visiting in September 2022. I could really use that same review this time as the Steigenberger Makadi remains every bit as perfect as it was on our first visit. We have been to many hotels around the world and this remains the best for friendly staff who cannot do enough to make sure your stay is as perfect as it can be. The food is wonderful, everything is spotlessly clean, my partner played golf several times and enjoyed it very much. All in all another fabulous holiday and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Pluses - [ ] White and red house wines excellent. - [ ] Reception staff are good. - [ ] Romantic meal was excellent. - [ ] Golf course is excellent. - [ ] The laundry facility is excellent. Minuses - [ ] Drinks Service at pool can be slow. Main waiter helps with lunch service. - [ ] Booking system for outside restaurants very slow. Impossible to use. - [ ] Trip advisor is banned on hotel wifi even though the Indian restaurant gave out a trip advisor review card. - [ ] Main service not great. - [ ] Main buffet is fine but after a few days gets boring and repetitive. - [ ] On arrival a guest told us that putting a towel down on a sun-bed early morning was not necessary, but we found this not to be the case. - [ ] Feels like tipping is required. - [ ] Weren’t told about ‘romantic meal’ nights on arrival , heard from other guests that this was a thing. Then we struggled to book. - [ ] Lunch time menu at pool bar limited, and the same everyday. - [ ] Even if you wanted to go out and pay for a meal, you can’t because the resort is a bit locked out. You have to go to hurgarda to find independent restaurants. - [ ] Super king bed is just 2 singles pushed together and the bottom sheets come off every night leaving me laying on the mattress. - [ ] The mats in our room were so dusty. When you lift an edge and drop it the dust that comes off is not good.
