Olde world look with modern amenities.
Good price for the location & quality amenities - easy walk to Rennweg station (for the airport) & Belvedere palace & tram just down the street to get into the old town & Rathouse. Good location for getting to all the Christmas markets (get a 24 hr transport pass from the train station).
Only issue was that the room was super hot. They sent someone to look at it & it was better the second night but could have been cooler.

Rooms and breakfast really great and in the beautiful 13. District with the palace around the corner and many places to enjoy good food. What really turned me off was the unpleasant lady receptionist, being rude and unhelpful. I would expect a bit more friendly staff in the front office of a 4+ star hotel. Leading up to the visit we also had troubles with the booking and one of our rooms got “lost” and brought a lot of confusion and frustration. It almost felt like we had to apologize the inconvenience of booking rooms.

My two teenage children and I stayed in the Family Room for 3 nights in June 2022. The location of the hotel is unbeatable - right in the heart of the city and shopping area. A stone's throw away from a metro stop and the St. Stephen's cathedral. There are a lot of restaurants nearby to dine at, The State Opera House is a 4-min walk. The staff of the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. Our luggage didn't make the connection in Amsterdam and hotel staff went out of they way to call airlines. If you want to get to the hotel from the airport, take the CAT (City Airport Train) for 12 euros (kids under 15 ride for free) and get off at the first city stop (Landstrabe/ Wien Mitte). Then take the U3 subway line (buy separate ticket for 2,40 euros) and get off two stops at Stephanplatz. It's about a 25 min ride.

We stayed in January 2020 for 3 nights in this hotel, very conveniently located nearby subway station, which makes it perfect to enjoy the city without paying extra money. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and big enough. The hotel's bar is cozy and the restaurant has a good choice of meals and amazing staff. Overall a very pleasant experience.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary in Vienna and stayed at this beautiful hotel. They did everything to make it special. My husband ordered champagne and it was presented with roses and rose petals. Turn down service included a short bed time ‘story’ on a card each night. Books on the nightstand, we were given bookmarks. Phone charging cords were wrapped with a leather band. Rooms were beautiful. Food, views and atmosphere at the rooftop restaurant were amazing. And all of the staff were welcoming and helpful. If you need one more reason to stay, the location is perfect.

The service at the Marriott was excellent, the rooms were immaculate, there is a large indoor heated pool we enjoyed, there were lots of people at the front desk and it has a great location. The hop on hop off bus stops at the front door, it is walking distance to Mozart's house and the magnificent St. Stephen's cathedral, the hofburg with the imperial apartments, the Spanish riding school, cici museum, the royal Treasury with the crown jewels, and the Jewish museum. There are lots of fine shops and a variety of restaurants in the area as well as a pedestrian shopping area. We were disappointed with lunch at the Garden cafe but there are other places to dine. We will definitely return when we are in the area again.

During our six-night stay at this hotel in July 2023, we had high expectations of a luxurious experience. However, the room quality proved to be far from what we anticipated, and it significantly impacted our vacation. Negative Aspects of the Room: The first impression of the hotel was positive, but as our stay progressed, we encountered numerous issues with the rooms: Malfunctioning reading lamp: One night, we discovered that the reading lamp was not working, and despite reporting the issue, it couldn't be fixed promptly. Non-functional phone hand-set: The phone in our room was unusable, forcing us to call reception through the base set with a speaker, which was inconvenient. Unstable and noisy beds: While the beds were comfortable, they were unfortunately unstable and produced bothersome noises with the slightest movement. Lack of curtains: Instead of curtains, the room had grey metal walls to darken the space, which gave the room a cold ambiance. Absence of carpets: The absence of carpets and the presence of only a grey or white surface added to the room's lack of warmth and comfort. Complicated room design: The design featured a moving door separating the shower from the living area, which never closed entirely, requiring constant adjustments to ensure privacy. Inconvenient towel placement: Towels were placed inside the bath, making it difficult to access them without having to climb inside or open the separation wall at a specific location. Tiny sinks: The sinks were so small that using them often resulted in water spraying back and leaving us wet. Confusing AC usage: Understanding whether the AC was on, off, or just ventilating proved to be challenging, as we had to rely solely on the sound it made. Water supply disruption: We got a notice one day prior, that a complete shutdown of water supply is planned for 3 hours from 10:30-13:30. Random light switches: The room was filled with light switches, and some of them worked unpredictably, controlling whichever light without any discernible logic. Insufficient lighting: Despite all lights being on, the room remained dark, making it uncomfortable for various activities. Despite the room issues, there were some positive aspects of our stay: Reception staff: The staff at the reception was commendable in their efforts to accommodate us. They were kind, attentive, and clearly well-trained in providing good service. They offered us several rooms, but there was nothing they could do as all rooms we saw had more or less the same problems. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, and most of the time, the breakfast staff provided excellent service. Location: Prime location near Donaukanal and 5 minutes walk from the Schwedenplatz metro station. It is within walking distance to Stephansplatz. The area feels safe and friendly at night. The sum it up I would not recommend a long stay at this hotel because of the rooms' low quality and the cold, dark, complicated

The room was good overlooked the back of the hotel and church, shower was good and small fridge and TV with music channels. Wifi worked well staff on reception were helpful . I borrowed an adapter, printed boarding passes, advice was offered on location. Breakfast was included in our deal it was ok, cold meats, yogurt fruit, nice selection of bread. The eggs and sausages were cold but not meant to be and that was quite early in the morning. Coffee not much good again cold unless you add the hot water no breakfast tea apart from fruit teas. The older guy that was on that day couldn't be bothered when asked for some. The young tall guy much more helpful. Wouldn't have breakfast unless included in deal.Bar wasn't open so no drinks maybe if you ask they open it. No noise from building work but front of hotel covered up. Ok for 2 nights stay. AS some other people have pictured they could do with moving all the old mattresses out the back outside of the seating area in reception which is quite a nice space to sit in. There are toilets in reception which are clean. Local area has few restaurants or cafes nearby so be prepared for this. Unless you count the fast food ones at the station complex. Chinese chain there pretty reasonable.

This was a much more modern, clean and sophisticated hotel than I was expecting and I’d highly recommend. On arrival the member of staff was helpful and the lobby space is very impressive with lots to admire. The gold lifts with old traditional number indicators are fantastic! I had a corner room which was configured for single occupancy. The corner location resulted in the space being a bit of an odd size and shape but it was very modern, clean and comfortable for a short stay. The lighting throughout was good, decent charging sockets next to the bed and there was no noise from outside or other rooms. The decor was really nice and goes well with the theme of the hotel. The bathroom was a small space and unfortunately the shower leaked over the floor, but it was as modern as everywhere else and the toiletries was really nice. The restaurant in the hotel is very high-end and unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to try it during my short stay, but there are plenty of other more casual places in the area. There is a bar in the lobby but it feels more like a cafe and isn’t the cosiest to end the day with a drink in. Overall for the price this was an impressive hotel in a good central location, walkable to all the main sights, and if you prefer modern then it should be on your short list.

Located in the city center, very close to the famous brand street, there are many famous restaurants and attractions around, which can be reached by walking for a few minutes. The room is in traditional German style, and I like the classical aesthetics. The area is slightly small, but it is acceptable for 2 people. Because I had to catch an early flight the next day, the front desk was very considerate to prepare breakfast. The juice, dessert, sandwich and fruit were particularly comprehensive and tasted very good. If I have the chance to go to Vienna again, I will stay here again. Highly recommended!

WWenjingJavelinGet another Ritz room card haha, this location is very good, about five minutes walk from the Golden Hall, there are also some restaurants and supermarkets nearby, the location is very good.
The front desk helped to check in was Madeleine, secretly recorded her name, she was too good, talking organized, super meticulous, super friendly, let me have a good first impression here.
The price of the room is not low, the same price can live in a suite in China. The space is about 30 square meters. The shower space here is more spacious than Budapest. Haha, there is also a bathtub, and the toiletries are also diptyque fig series.
The room supplies free glass bottle mineral water every day, and there is no turndown service on the Buda side, but the overall is also very good.

GGuest UserStaying here now. A great location for touring the city. Metro station U1 (REDLINE) right outside hotel on the right and close to shopping area and museums, aquarium and street food/ market street. Kids friendly hotel (play room for little kids, not for 4 years old upwards). Staff not too friendly but I think this is due to busy period of the year & no time to carter to non-urgent matters. But if you manager to track down a staff & ask for help, it happens quickly. Clean lobby - water available for guest, coffee, tea, small lobby though, could run into people easily if crowded. Breakfast - good, clean, outside Terrence was open so good space. But a bit crowded by 8-9 am. Food variation, lots of different things and great for people who do not eat pork. Rooms -modern, clean, updated furniture. Pray it stays this way compare to past reviews 2019, 2020. Could be bit more dust-up; but hey its summer so open windows / dust is normal. TV very great size & distance from bed. Mini-bar / kitchen yay :-) kids were happy. Beds - very comfortable, sheets smells very clean, pillow- fluffy and smells clean fresh & new. No dirt under bed. I checked. Bathroom - oh I am surprised, cleaned , no mold on the bathroom tub, or shower area. I must say this was amazing. VERY CLEAN BATHROOM. Halls from Elevator - clean surprisingly no stains, no trash cans (thank goodness) and not smelling, it was very airy and spacious for tolling baggages back & forth. Elevator not dirty, mirrors / steel very clean. Windows big with lights, no balcony. Curtains very clean a bit dusty again. Overall I kept looking for something, but this time I have no major complain then perhaps friendier staff will be a bonus, but hey o one should stop your happiness. I would come again and recommend this hotel to my families and friends. Cheers, SCH DK
GGuest UserWe stayed at Mooons for a short 4 day city break in Vienna. We chose a Quartier Belvedere room which was immaculate and beautifully decorated. It had loads of charging sockets and the we loved sitting in the window and watching the world go by. We timed our trip with the recent europe heatwave - but the air con was so good in the room that we did not suffer at all. We have to say that the highlight of the stay was the rooftop bar. There was a fantastic selection of cocktails and the view from the rooftop in the early evening was stunning. the staff at the rooftop bar were so welcoming and friendly - especially the two young czech waiters who we got to know quite well. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone in Vienna - without a doubt the rooftop bar was a huge addition to an already lovely hotel.
GGuest UserClose to HBF Wien, Gluten free/Vegan/Bio options for breakfast, helpful, friendly staff, sustainable catering/hosting practices. We loved our stay at the Zeitgeist & would recommend for travellers wanting a safe, comfortable stay while contributing to sustainable tourism! We are 50-60 years.
GGuest UserVery equipped and cozy apartment at an excellent Location for a very good price! Big recommendation. We stayed for 3 nights and it has everything you need, bathroom, kitchen, large bed with all accessories and the apartment size is fairly big. You get also coffee machine with capsules which is a great plus. The Location is more than good since it is 5 minutes away from U3 and you can get to city centre in 15 minutes. There are some good pubs and restoraunts around the block as well. You also get access to luggage room with a keylock so you can leave your stuff on departure day and still use that day to go out before your trip back. The host was amazing and we got everything we asked and they were very nice and kind. 10/10 would recommend and I’ll be back if I am in Wien any time. Only problem is that if you wish to Cook or wash your Clothes you need to bring or buy an oil or detergent.
TTravelling RosebudGreat hostel not far from the main train station, but a bit of a walk to the main sites. Great evening social activities.
Can be noisy in the evenings with lots of school trips but otherwise quiet location. Good food & very friendly helpful staff.
EewanrI really enjoyed staying here for a one night stay. It is out of town but easily accessible with the metro (U3 at a 10 minute walk), bus and tram right outside the hotel. The decor is retro but clean and some nice touches like a bottle of local water in the room. All of the staff I came across were very helpful as well.
Overall no complaints at all would recommend for a trip to Vienna
GGuest UserThe hotel is excellent located near the central park, where the famous monument of Johann Strauss is. The metro station is just across the street. Walking to the St Stephen Cathedral and the entire city center is very easy, even with our toddler. From the moment of check-in we really felt pampered, thanks to the very warm welcome received at the reception. Our room was so nicely prepared with the extra bed a nice amenity for our daughter. The breakfast was reach with plenty of choices. I was impressed that you could get even fresh vegetable juice at your choice. I would recommend adding the access to the Club InterContinental to your reservation for the nice atmosphere, stunning views, tasty food and excellent service.

Very Good
GGuest UserAfter reading reviews of this hotel I was really looking forward to staying here. First impression is like an old office block but it is very trendy inside, welcome was very friendly and a very good first impression. As the location of hotel is quite a walk into town we thought we’d have dinner in hotel. We certainly wished we hadn’t. The waiter was nothing other than rude. We had curry which was bland and just warm with dried out rice. We never received our side order which we asked for twice. Despite the restaurant having only approximately 3 other tables occupied we never received any service, we went to the bar twice to ask for a drink, then ask where our side was which still never came. Waiter just on phone and seemed annoyed when we asked something. When we asked for another drink again at the bar ourselves, we asked what deserts were available to a response of ‘fridge’ and pointed across to the other side of bar. We chose the driest brownie available and wish we hadn’t. When he came with the bill, he informed us twice service not included..which I informed him, we had received near to no service and that what we did receive was awful! He laughed. We paid over €70 for 2 bland chicken curries and a few beers & a brownie. He then forgot the drink we’d ordered at the bar so when I went up he then said he had no change (probably because I’d not tipped the awful service previously). How can you not have change from a €10 note? So after waiting for a minute whilst he kept looking in the same wallet I told him to keep the €5 euro change. It left a very bad impression of the hotel on our first night in Vienna after travelling from two other cities and hotels that offered impeccable service. Such a shame when the rest of the staff seemed so customer focused. However the reason I’ve given 3 stars is the rest of the staff were lovely. Breakfast is fantastic and the gent who runs breakfast was very helpful. Room nice, a tad small, think it’s all designed to be trendy more than comfort, but no complaints apart from big, shower gels and soap, one completely empty and one with scraps of soap left. These should be changed when the room made up, especially when paying a premium for class of room. In all beautiful decor downstairs, on whole friendly staff, would I stay here again probably not.
