Outstanding
SSarah GraceWe had an amazing 1 night stay at Shizentenyu... i'm still dreaming about the view from our room and the restaurant... amazing!!! We didn't realize that our room included a full 7-course set dinner menu, which was one of the highlights from our trip! The service was impecable, food delicious, and a huge thank-you to Alfie who guided us through our set menu in English. We would have been very confused without him. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, the Onsen lovely, we appreciated the lounge with free coffee, tea, beer, and popsicles. We also braved the steep walk down to the private beach and went for a refreshing swim! We wish we could have stayed longer!
MM519193****Super satisfied! There is a special butler who is responsible for your diet and other arrangements every day. It is a Vietnamese lady. The English is very fluent. It will also have a little Chinese. The service is very good.
Especially worth mentioning is that the dinner is particularly good. The ingredients are fresh. All kinds of seafood lobster sashimi. The abalone is oversized. The taste is really good. The price is full.
Our room type is a balcony with foot soup. It is very special. It is very comfortable to watch the maple leaves in the courtyard.
The hotel has private soup and public soup. Private soup needs to be reserved at one time every day. Free tea every day. Ice cream and milk are provided.
The only possible location is relatively remote. It is not convenient for tourists who are not self-driving. There is no reception at the front desk when we first entered the check-in, which caused us to find a long time.
But the whole is really good, very recommended
GGuest UserWe had a truly wonderful stay at Ittouan. The experience was exceptional from beginning to end.
The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They noticed us from far away and immediately came to help carry our luggage. One of the staff members, a lovely young lady who spoke excellent English, was especially helpful and made communication very easy. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name, but I would like to thank her again.
We booked both dinner and breakfast, and the meals were fantastic. The ingredients were very fresh and the variety was impressive. Every dish was different and beautifully prepared. However, for two women like us, the portions were honestly quite generous — even sharing one meal between two people might have been enough!
The location is excellent. The hotel provides a free shuttle to Kawazu Station, which makes it extremely convenient for visiting the Kawazu cherry blossoms. It is also very close to the beautiful coastline, so the surroundings are lovely.
Our room had a private onsen bath where we could soak while enjoying the view of cherry blossoms, which was a truly special experience. There is also a larger private bath available by reservation (free of charge). We also tried the hot stone spa, which was incredibly effective in relieving the fatigue after my marathon.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay. I would love to come back again in the future, hopefully with my family.
GGuest UserThis place is located at Izu-Ōkawa Station, which is a bit off the beaten path for a transport hub in the East Izu area. The hotel offers a shuttle service, which you can book in advance via email or phone. The front desk has a ********* lady who speaks Chinese and is very helpful, answering any questions you might have. The food is quite good, and there are two large outdoor private onsens where you can see stars on a clear night. However, if you want to see a lot of stars, you should head to Ōshima or a nearby island. The room size is standard; in Japanese-style rooms, staff will lay out futons as there are no beds. The tatami mats are very new and have that unique new tatami smell. The private onsen in the room is also nice for a soak. If you're interested, there's also a wild hot spring by the sea – just Google it. You'll find a Lawson convenience store a short walk along the coastline. Overall, apart from the slightly remote location, there aren't any major drawbacks.
AAnonymous UserI chose this hotel instead of the neighboring Ginshuisou because it was slightly more expensive for the same dates, and it was much better than expected.
The hotel service was excellent overall, from the shuttle bus to the hotel itself – standard Japanese service. The only slight drawback was that I didn't encounter any staff members fluent in English; we mostly communicated using translators.
I emailed the hotel reception to reserve a table at Toranoana yakiniku (grilled meat) next door, and received a reply about a day later that the reservation was confirmed. Very efficient, thank you so much! For a late-night snack, I got some fried rice from a nearby Itoshima-ya restaurant. The rice was perfectly cooked, and my friends and I raved about it! The fried tofu was also delicious!
The open-air ocean-view onsen, Sora, had a stunning view. After soaking, enjoying the complimentary tea and snacks and buying milk from the vending machine was incredibly relaxing – the milk was absolutely delicious! There's a convenience store just 100 meters from the hotel, which was very convenient.
The room view was also fantastic; I slept soundly to the sound of the waves. The facilities showed signs of aging and use (minor damage), but overall, it didn't feel drab and was acceptable. Furthermore, neither my friend's nor my room smelled musty, indicating that they were well-maintained.
KkahoooooThey called me twice to confirm my reservation, so I could tell they were very attentive even before I arrived. They were always friendly and helpful when I arrived, and I was able to check in comfortably! I was looking forward to dinner, and it was gorgeous, delicious, and even better than I expected! The breakfast included sashimi, which was a shame I couldn't finish. The bath had a great view, so I was able to relax in it. I was happy that there were L'Occitane amenities in the room!
Mmyy****Stayed from Oct 2-4.
**Environment**: Right by the sea, you can see the ocean as soon as you open the curtains, with waves crashing against the rocks. The balcony is an excellent spot to watch the sunrise and sunset. The window insulation is superb; when you close the windows at night, you can't hear the sound of the waves at all. This hotel seems to be the closest to the sea on this street, and I absolutely loved the location.
**Service**: The hotel offers a very convenient shuttle service to Inatori Station, with several departures to the train station daily. The shuttle is clean and tidy.
**Dining**: The Japanese breakfast and dinner were very standard, exquisite, and abundant. The portions were so large that I couldn't finish any meal.
**Hot Springs**: The public hot spring area has many different pools, each with a different temperature. There are complimentary cold drinks and ice water available at the entrance to the hot spring rooms.
**Details**: Both the hotel rooms and public hot spring rooms provide facial cleansers and skincare products, all by POLA. There's also hair treatment oil available for use. Each room comes with complimentary snacks, and the 'Sakura Ebi no Mai' (cherry shrimp crackers), a specialty of Shizuoka Prefecture, are delicious. Before leaving, I bought POLA skincare products, 'Sakura Ebi no Mai,' and 'Kinmedai Miso Soup' (red snapper miso soup) from the hotel's shop.
**Unexpected Surprise**: Upon arrival, I was informed that my room had been upgraded. My room's balcony came with a private hot spring bath, which was absolutely fantastic! I could wake up in the morning and soak in the hot spring while listening to the sound of the waves.
For everything else that words can't convey, just look at the pictures. In short, if I go to Izu again, I will definitely choose this onsen hotel.
GgggiaoThis hotel is very clean. Although there was a faint musty, wooden smell upon entering, it quickly dissipated after airing out the room. I stayed on the seventh floor, and the view outside was exceptional; the sea was right below, and there were barely any tourists. The hotel offers a shuttle service, and the staff are very warm and welcoming, especially the elderly lady. We had a wonderful night and would definitely come back again if we get the chance.
GGuest UserThis is a bit worn out and simple hotel. The best things were the extremely friendly and helpful staff, as well as the super delicious dinner & breakfast that was included in the price. I ate maybe the most delicious croissant ever here. The variety and the quality of food was great. Things to improve are the facilities, especially the onsen. It’s very small but more importantly, it wasn’t well maintained and there was no emergency button. When my mom felt like fainting, it wasn’t possible to call for help.
Also the air conditioner in the room was very loud, making it difficult to sleep. All in all, good stay.
GGuest UserWe had a delicious and fun time with the family.
The private beach was also wonderful. If it was summer swimming season, the waves would be calm and it would be easy for children to play there.
It was the last weekend of March during spring break, but the hotel was well thought out and didn't feel crowded, which was nice.
The freshly fried tempura in the dining area and the fried bread for breakfast were very popular and delicious. However, the smell of oil permeated the yukata and hair I was wearing, so I felt like taking a bath and washing my hair again after the meal. I think it would be difficult, but if the ventilation environment was good, it would be perfect! That's how I felt.
