"The breakfast and dinner provided were both delicious and beautifully prepared. We stayed for two nights and were offered different meals each day. Our room had a private hot spring bath facing the ocean, available 24/7, and the water temperature was wonderfully high. The staff at the inn were excellent; they even drove all the way to Izu Kogen Station to pick us up when we arrived in heavy rain."

"The view from the hotel was truly amazing! Dinner was quite delicious, especially the appetizer, which was unique and tasty. However, breakfast was rather average. The hotel facilities are a bit dated; clean but not very modern. The service was excellent, with a young man from the UK who communicated fluently in English. Disappointing aspects: There are approximately 13 rooms in total. About 10 have the same view as the lobby, while the other three have significantly worse views, failing to see the sunset. Unfortunately, our room was assigned to one of the worse rooms. For dinner, our dining room had a large wall in the middle with only a few windows on either side, making it difficult to enjoy the sea view, although thankfully it gets dark early. We noticed that Japanese guests were generally given dining rooms with full sea views. Breakfast – similarly, we were assigned to a dining room with an obstructed sea view. Overall, the hotel is very beautiful, and the service is excellent. However, the unfortunate poor views of our rooms, dinner, and breakfast make it hard not to wonder if the hotel prioritized Japanese guests."

"Stay in treditional japanese style room. Good ocean views scenery and very large 5 futon room. Onzen is very large in both indoor and outdoor, complete with both hot and cold onzen. comes with lots of drink and dessert served in nearly 24 Hrs during stay. Breakfast buffet was very good. Recommended for couple or family stay. Can stay here all day and night without need to go anywhere else."

"We had an amazing time! The property was absolutely beautiful, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We needed to be out to catch a train on a day when it was torrential rain. The had one of the staff drive us to the station that was further away since the local one closed. I could not have asked for more care or accommodation for us."

Takami Hotel Hotels in Kamo District

"Personality & Staff ◎ They were very friendly, kind, and attentive. They are quite experienced, but very reliable. They made up the futons for us and set up the room for our meals, which was very reassuring. Food ◎ As expected of Minami-Izu, the sea bream, sashimi, soup, and white rice were all very delicious. The portions were generous and it was as luxurious as it looked online. Since it was room service, we didn't have to go anywhere and could eat at our leisure in our own room. Guests ◎ Most of the guests were families. When searching for this hotel online, there were some strange comments about mixed bathing, but there was absolutely no sign of that, so we were relieved. Hot Springs ⚪︎ I think it's the same for all hotels in this area, but the water quality is good. Facilities ▲ The room itself was spotless and the cleaning was thorough. However, the room is in a dilapidated state, either having been renovated since the late Showa bubble era or not. The Japanese-style toilet had been converted to a Western-style one. Also, the bathroom in the room is so old that it's practically unusable, so I recommend using the private bath. Also, the walls are a bit thin, so you can hear the people next door talking loudly. (Caution) If you don't smoke, you'll immediately notice the smell of cigarette smoke, so I recommend checking carefully when making a reservation to see if there's a strong smell of cigarettes. (I think this inn was built during the bubble economy era, so it's somewhat unavoidable.) There's a DAIKIN air conditioner in the room, but when you turn it on, the smell of cigarettes spreads throughout the room. If the facilities were better, it would be a good inn."

"Good: The hotel environment is comfortable, full of nature elements. The scene is beautiful. The room is old japanise style, tidy with private toilet (NO shower). There are onsen and public bathroom on ground floor The people are nice. Free parking, good for rental car travel Improvement needed: There are ONLY two power sockets and their locations are very inconvenient in the room. It is NOT good for visitors who need to charge many electronic devices. The toilet in our room is full of strange smell, even the side window remains open for better ventilation. The smell does not vanish. The wall tiles start falling off. The water flow is very weak from the sink. The public bathroom would be closed from 10AM to 2 PM for daily cleaing. This cleaning period is NOT convenient for divers who finish their morning dive (06:00-12:00) and would like to enjoy a bath and onset afterward (12:00-14:00). Only fridge is provided in the room, neither microwave oven nor water heater. Hot water and ice water are provided in sepeate thermos flasks in the room. If you need extra water, we have to ask the front desk staffs on 1st floor. It would be very inconvenient."

"The first time was my first trip to Izu. The hotel we stayed in had an extremely nice environment, although it was an old one. But the facilities and services they provided were really excellent. It's highly recommended. Especially the breakfast, it had everything and was of the buffet type. The only thing to note is that when you make a reservation, you must definitely book the breakfast and dinner. But if you don't get them, there is also very delicious grilled meat nearby. And there is another one, a little bit further away, called Tokai Maru. The fish there is extremely delicious. It's really, really good. I recommend it to everyone💕"

"This is a very good ryokan with delicious food and wonderful private onsens. There are 2 onsens, I managed to stay there several times in the evening and lie in the hot spring in the morning. Everything was explained very clearly right away when I arrived, where everything is and how to use it. The onsens were called bathrooms. The room is well heated by air conditioning. I was upgraded to a sea view room for free. It was very nice to drink tea on the balcony and look at the sea and mountains. The dining room, where breakfast is in the morning, also has a beautiful view. You can walk to the flowering in kawazu in 20 minutes along a beautiful road."

"Fantastic ryokan in Kawazu with only 7 rooms. Located by the beach, although there is a road in-between. Weren't bothered by traffic noise at night though. Service is top-notch and the food at dinner is amazing and varied. Very fresh seafood with the nightly sashimi platter a highlight. Breakfast is western style and a bit limited though compared with the dinner, but still delicious. Would definitely stay here again."

"This is my third time staying here in 3 years. I think the second time was around the time when the coronavirus pandemic was over. The food was very good the first time I stayed here, and I went back the second time when the coronavirus pandemic had calmed down. Perhaps I had too high expectations of the food at the time, or perhaps it was just after the difficult times of the coronavirus pandemic, but the food wasn't as impressive as it was before, so I stayed away from the hotel for a while. I found a very cheap last-minute plan and made a reservation at short notice. Even though I arrived almost an hour early, they let me into my room. I really like the rooms at "Yume Oboro," and this time I stayed in a corner room on the third floor. The view of the trees outside the window is soothing. The room is small, but the tea incense burner is burning, so it's a very calming and relaxing room. I also like the size of Ittoan, which has a total of 20 rooms. The service is very hospitable and there are plenty of free services available. Free coffee from 3pm, tea service, ice cream after a bath, and from 10pm they serve porridge instead of soba noodles for crying out loud. The light seasoning makes it easy to eat even if you're full after dinner, and the spicy chopped pickled mustard greens make it even more addictive. Kanekichi-san's large private open-air bath is also a welcome service. As for dinner, the first thing that impressed me was the delicate seasoning. It wasn't a flashy dish, but there was a selection of dishes that allowed you to enjoy the original flavor of vegetables and wild plants. There was no meat, but there was plenty of fish. The stewed alfonsino was excellent, and the broth was exquisite. The way it was cooked was perfect, and the thick parts of the meat still had some elasticity, but it wasn't raw, which is just what you'd expect. I thought Ittoan was a ryokan after all. Each dish was carefully prepared, and the hospitality was apparent in the food. The same goes for breakfast. It's not luxurious or flashy, but the thoughtfulness of the food makes it a typical Ittoan breakfast. It's been a while since I last visited, but the hospitality was felt everywhere and it was an inn that I would like to return to. It has become one of my favorite inns. Thank you very much."

"I absolutely loved Tenyu! The scenery, service, rooms, and food were all impeccable, and the onsen was fantastic, making me feel right at home. Each floor has seating with a view, complimentary coffee, tea, beer, and popsicles, all accompanied by soothing music – it was incredibly relaxing. The kaiseki dinner was excellent, and my husband and I were both very satisfied. I hope to come back again!"
