Rydges hotel located at World Square - Sydney central area. Great location, convenient to go to anywhere within just few minutes walk, such as Chinatown, Thai Town, Hay market, Town Hall, QVB, Woolworths, Korean grocery store.
Efficient facilities for several days stay and suitable for all types of travelers with ballrooms, restaurant and bar, tour concierge desk.
The hotel offers daily housekeeping with helpful staff and friendly luggage storage service.
We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. Definitely will recommend to others.

The location was perfect next to the China Town & convenient to CBD. Only 15-20mins transportation to Sydney airport. I checked around 00:00, only One staff at the front desk, he seemed tired & his hand writing was terrible, the WiFi PW did not work & no one answer the phone when I dial from room. Next day, another helpful staff wrote the correct PW for me. The room was spacious but no enough desk area, the bed was comfy. The hygiene was unacceptable specially the toilet. The cleaning staff only clean twice during my 5 nights stay , the hair was sticked on the ceiling , molds were terrible in the shower area. The hotel need to enhance the cleaning & interior environment work. Overall this hotel was not worthy for the price I paid. Disappointed.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Location is very good, easy to access everywhere. The room is showing signs of aging. Even the shower door closed but water still leaking and floor is all wet. We need to use extra towels to mop it.
Also the biggest issue is our room 1601, just outside our room, there are 2 big roof vent . Every morning our room smells like kitchen and oily smell. We feel very uncomfortable and we did complained to the front desk. That girl just answered me “thanks for letting us know”

Not our first stay at Rydges World Square. Nothing majorly wrong. There were some issues with the Chromecast in our room that could not be resolved. The room was okay just nothing special.

The Rydges is very tired and in much need of a revamp. The bathroom shower had mould, stained tiles and leaked. The door didn't close unless you locked it, door handle did not engage. My biggest gripe with this hotel is the service offered - 'all or nothing'. Offering a $10 credit to forfeit room refreshing is a very strange option which made me feel quite uncomfortable deciding what to do. I did'nt want the $10 credit but it made me feel guilty asking for the service. I am used to opting out of having towels changed daily and more than happy to do this, placing the towels, like the sodden bathmat from the leaking shower, in the bath to be changed but hanging the rest of them. Apparently, because we had the cheek to not opt out of having our room made up it meant that it was a 'full' service including towels being changed daily, so unnecessary. The rest of having our room made up is what you pay for when you stay in a hotel, bed made, clean glasses and cups etc. - otherwise you would stay in an AirBnB. Mind you, the towels were changed but the used glasses not refreshed so I am at a loss as to what room made up means. So unfortunately I didn't find the stay to be what I was hoping. We booked the one bedroom king suite but it was very ordinary indeed.

The staff are very nice and helpful, the location is excellent. But the beds and pillows are too soft to take a good rest.
