Lixia B&B

The owner of the B&B was very welcoming and gave us mosquito repellent and snacks and fruits. Thank you so much. After a short rest, we went to play around the area. It was very close to the rafting site. I thought it would be a distance away, but it was only a few minutes' walk away. There was also coffee for sale, which was quite delicious.

Late August, a hurried journey through western Zhejiang. The road leads through the mountains. Along the way, I watch the scenery outside the window transform from the familiar paddy fields and ponds to the cascading green peaks between the mountains. Looking ahead, as far as the eye can see, thin clouds lap the mountain ridges, sometimes rolling and sometimes unrolling, drifting from the stream. Although the journey took nearly five hours, seeing the lush green pines, cypresses, and bamboo forests, the shimmering emerald green seemed to drip down, I felt that the journey was worthwhile. Our destination was Dalong Bay. Under the scorching sun, springs splashed against the rocks, making a clear sound. The rapids were like arrows, and the waves were like a galloping arrow. Rafting in Liangyuan Gorge seemed rather boring. The children, however, had a blast rowing and scooping water, enjoying themselves despite the sudden downpour. Although this area belongs to Lin'an, Hangzhou, it's close to southern Anhui. The whitewashed walls and black-tiled horse-head walls of the Hui-style buildings are ubiquitous. Deeper into the valley, there's even a sign warning you to "Beware of Wild Deer," truly fulfilling the saying, "When the sea is blue, whales are seen; when the forest is deep, deer are seen." After many days without rain, the riverbed along the mountain road dried up, and the boulders had been smoothed, their edges smoothed. We reached the end of the road and headed back, excited. Just off the road lay the ancient Changning Road, the path used by Hui merchants to travel south. The Sandu Stone Bridge at the entrance has now been transformed into a glass plank road for rafting. The commander-in-chief stood atop the bottomless reservoir dam, pointing to the glass plank road on the cliff face, awestruck. However, the hydropower station upstream, with its clear stream flowing and gushing, was quite spectacular. We followed the smooth asphalt road back to our guesthouse, called Shanshui Renjia. Many of the locals are surnamed Zheng, including the owner, who meticulously manages the business with the combined efforts of their families. The B&B isn't large, but it's newly renovated, with meticulous attention to detail. I work part-time as a firefighter at a factory, and I know all too well how challenging it is to handle inspections. The clothes drying area on the fourth floor is spacious and bright. Through the small window, I can see the nearby bamboo trees, each rising higher and higher, vying for height. Looking out into the distance, I see hundreds of layers of green peaks, lush trees and dense shade, a breathtaking spectacle, a thousand peaks. Amidst the layers of lush green mountains, a small village called Longjing nestles amidst the surroundings. Secluded peaks shrouded in clouds, smoke rises from cooking fires, and the forests scatter. As the sun sets in the west, white clouds retreat, and the caves darken. The shifting light and darkness are truly like the scene in Ouyang Xiu's "The Drunken Pavilion": deep streams brimming with green, pools azure, and the depths visible a thousand feet. It's a pity that the upstream dam hasn't been opened, so the small, fish-scale dam is hidden from view.
