The location at early morning is crowded and full of traffic noise, it’s not near enough to west lake and the city is crowded ether wise is sooooo excellent

So nice clean hotel with helpful staff

The hotel manager’s outrageously disrespectful, unprofessional conduct forced me to cut my stay short, where her abrasive attitude makes you feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued guest. When I approached her to extend my stay, the manager sighed extremely deeply with an utterly irritated, rude attitude, as if she viewed the guest as a nuisance. She refused to greet me against standard etiquette protocol and spoke down to me in a condescending, curt, infantilizing manner. Whenever the manager processed my payment for extending my stay four times, her attitude was exceedingly standoffish, cold and transactional. While other hotel staff show hospitality, it’s ridiculous how she just passes back your card with zero eye contact as if she couldn’t bother to engage with guests further. I’ve never seen another manager so lacking in basic etiquette and professionalism. After residing three weeks, I proposed a room change due to a cigar smell disrupting my sleep. The manager said no vacancies available for the room then. She said they’d notify me if the guest moves out and they’d reserve the room for me. Two days later in the morning, the cleaning lady said the original guest in the room I requested already checked out and that a new guest ALREADY moved there that morning without me being notified at all, despite the manager falsely guaranteeing so earlier. This cleaner displayed the guest system on her phone, where she showed me evidence of the new guest’s name and time she checked in that morning between 9-11:30am. The manager failed to reserve the room properly or possibly knowingly allocated the new guest to the room I requested instead of any vacant room. What’s outrageous is when I later spoke with her, she revealed a disgusting lack of integrity where she lied to my face and told me the original guest had “extended their stay”. The concrete evidence in the cleaner’s phone showed a NEW guest checked in that morning. The manager’s immediate resort to lying reveals an appalling lack of character, which suggests a possible habit in lying to guests to avoid accountability. The glaring inconsistency in these staff’s stories and the manager’s dishonesty are an absolute joke and stain on the hotel’s image. The manager later lashed out at me with an extremely demeaning temper tantrum in front of other guests. Never have I seen a manager raise their voice and embarrass the guest in public. She snapped at me in Chinese saying "How on earth are you supposed to if you don’t even take the card”. The guests nearby noticed her excessive rude attitude and glared at her uncomfortably. Why does this manager think it's acceptable to scold a guest so disrespectfully? Did nobody teach this manager manners? Most hotels here provide flexible discount rates for guests who extend beyond two weeks, yet she never once offered discount on the rate I was first charged, not even breakfast, despite my stay over a month. The lack of hospitality comes off exploitative and inconsiderate of guest welfare. Despite initially planning a longer stay due to delayed flight, the manager’s excessive mistreatment forced me to relocate. This wasn’t a one-time inconvenience. It forced me to transport all my luggage earlier than my planned schedule, secure new accommodation at short notice, delay important work arrangements negatively impacted by this disruption, which caused unnecessary stress, hassle and tangible loss. The absolute minimum expectation when you book a hotel is respect and hospitality, not to feel unwelcome and humiliated. Given the extreme disruption and disrespect I experienced as a return guest, a hotel that values guests would have compensated for the damages caused. Until too management addresses this misconduct that forces guests out the hotel, it’s not worth the financial or emotional risk. No guest should pay premium rates when there are far better hotels nearby, only to be mistreated by such a pathetically incompetent manager.

Scholars Hotel offers a comfortable and convenient stay, especially if you're visiting Zhejiang University or the Wulin Square area. The rooms are clean and quiet, with a nice blend of modern comfort and traditional touches. Service was warm and attentive, and check-in was smooth.

The hotel I chose when traveling with friends to Hangzhou is surrounded by a well-developed subway and bus network, and it is easy to reach popular attractions such as the West Lake and Hefang Street. Whether it is a business trip or a leisure trip, it can save a lot of commuting time. The hotel has its own parking lot, and parking is also very convenient. From the moment you step into the hotel, you can feel the enthusiasm and professionalism of the staff. The receptionist at the front desk is friendly with a smile, and the check-in process is efficient and smooth; the room service is meticulous, whether it is midnight snack delivery or luggage storage, it can respond to needs quickly, and truly make "guests feel at home". The overall hygiene of the room is excellent, the bedding is as white as new, and it is changed for each guest, which makes people feel at ease; the bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas, without water stains and odors, and the quality is reflected in the details. The service attitude of the front desk guy Xiao Cai is very friendly. When checking in, he took the initiative to ask about the room arrangement requirements, and introduced the surrounding travel and midnight snacks. I forgot to bring the charger when I went out, and he took the initiative to lend me his charger. If there is a need, he will help solve the problem as soon as possible, and I will recommend friends and family to stay

The room is clean and tidy. There are many books to read in the lobby. There are also free Hanfu costumes to borrow for taking photos. There are Tremella soup and tea eggs for midnight snacks in the evening. Parking is convenient. The surrounding subway is not very convenient. There is a villa garden next to it where you can take a walk and drink tea and coffee.

Stayed for two nights and felt good. The lobby is quite wide. The front desk is on the left after entering the round door, and the elevator is straight ahead. It is convenient to have a refrigerator in the room, although I found it before checking out on the third day 😄 because it is in the cabinet under the desk, and there is a refrigerator label on the upper right corner of the cabinet door. The details are well done! 👍The location is also convenient!

The room is big, but the facilities are old. The hygiene is satisfactory. The transportation is very convenient. It is not too far from the West Lake. It is OK to ride a bike or take the subway. The service attitude of the lady at the front desk is very good

The overall service is still very satisfactory. The room facilities are very warm. The room has a street view. It would be perfect if there is a refrigerator. None of the three hotels we stayed in on this trip had refrigerators. Isn’t a refrigerator a necessary facility in a hotel? ! 😅Coffee is available for breakfast☕️, the dinner set menu is very cost-effective, and the food quality is also very good👍🏼

The rooms are clean and hygienic, and there is water writing paper for practicing calligraphy. If there is not enough drinking water, it can be refilled. Breakfast is mainly Chinese buffet, and the steamed dumplings, tofu pudding, and egg pancakes are all delicious. There is also a midnight snack at 9:30 in the evening, white fungus soup and tea eggs.

The hotel service is very good and can meet the needs of customers. Because the previous guest renewed the room, there was no room type I wanted for special reasons. The hotel actively solved the problem, provided multiple solutions, and upgraded the room type for free. It was very flexible! The hotel is in a great location, and it's very convenient to go to any tourist attraction. A taxi is basically only about 20 yuan, which is suitable for families with babies!

Most people who come to Hangzhou for tourism book this hotel. The hotel environment is elegant and the sanitary conditions are good. The restaurant on the second floor tastes good and is very cost-effective. Free parking is available. I will come again next time.
