Lvxiao Erqing Hotel (West Lake Hubin Ding'an Road Subway Station)

Facilities: The lobby offers luggage storage. Essential toiletries like a hairdryer, shampoo, and shower gel are provided. A definite plus is the availability of disposable toilet seat covers in the restrooms! Cleanliness: My room appeared to be shared with three or four long-term residents, judging by the piles of luggage and their habit of leaving the door ajar. The floor was visibly unclean; I had to request the front desk to sweep it, but even after that, there were still crumbs and debris. A major issue was the toilet flushing mechanism. The flush button is incredibly hidden – a detail the establishment might have overlooked. They really ought to install automatic toilets or position the button in a standard, easily visible location near the cistern. I initially felt a little sympathetic, thinking public hygiene is a collective responsibility as suggested by their promotional images, but honestly, that toilet button is infuriatingly hard to find! Environment: Overall, I'd give it a 70 out of 100. It seems the cleaning staff in the shower rooms are quite diligent about promptly clearing hair.

The room was excellent. The front desk staff were very helpful during check-in, asking for my preferences; I requested a lower bunk for convenience. The place was spotlessly clean, with housekeeping tidying the room daily. There are also shared restrooms, showers, a vanity area, and a laundry room. Each guest is provided with a bath towel. The lobby features lockers for food and package deliveries, and I appreciated that eating in the rooms is not permitted, which helps keep the place tidy. The only minor downside was the pool table in the lobby. When eating nearby, the loud thudding sounds (especially when people hit the balls forcefully) could be a bit disruptive. The location is superb, very close to many attractions, and shared bikes are readily available for direct access.

Overall excellent, my only gripe being the higher price when booking via Ctrip. It's just a two-minute walk left from the subway exit, located on the 8th floor of a building. Both Qinghefang Street and Southern Song Imperial Street are within easy walking distance. A well-known large shopping mall is also close by. Each guest has a personal locker accessible only with a key card. Each bed features a power outlet, reading light, and privacy curtain. The shared bathrooms are also very convenient, stocked with shampoo, body wash, and hair dryers. Luggage storage is available. Most guests were quiet, and while some occasional noise is unavoidable, after walking over 20,000 steps during the day, I could sleep through anything. I didn't manage to find any great local snacks nearby. I did, however, buy some pre-cut chilled watermelon from a small shop, which was incredibly refreshing on a hot day.
