It was a really bad experience. After resting on the first night, I woke up in the morning with an allergic reaction from the bed sheets and the carpet on the floor. On the second night, the allergy got much worse, and I had to buy some allergy medicine from the pharmacy. I really don’t understand why the staff there don’t change or wash the bedding after a guest leaves. I didn’t have any good memories from that stay!

Because the room was nice, I stayed for another day. Except that the surrounding environment and the street were a bit messy, everything else was good. The room was quiet and not noisy, and the bed was comfortable.

WARNING ‼️ It was incredibly filthy. Hairs all over the floor, thick dust everywhere, and the toilet bowl was yellow-stained. Despite complaining to the staff, they couldn't offer a comparable room. Absolutely no refund was given, nothing at all. Definitely not recommended. Beware 🚨

Beware: This hotel is in breach of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In Germany, hotels are not permitted to demand ID cards from German citizens for overnight stays, yet this is standard practice here. Moreover, ID cards are scanned, which is also impermissible. The passport number, all given names, and date of birth are additionally copied from the ID into their system. This constitutes a severe violation of the EU GDPR. A complaint has already been filed with the authorities. The hotel uses a barely functional automated check-in machine, with no staff present to assist. The drain was clogged, and the room was difficult to find due to a lack of clear signage. The check-in process alone took two hours and was only completed with the help of our booking provider.

The receptionist was very unhelpful to guiding me to a parking lot in the area. He seem irritated and annoyed when I asked him kindly on the phone stuck in heavy Hamburg traffic. Besides that I needed to call the reception 5 times before I came through - not having mentioned multiple non-answered emails throughout the day regarding the same questions. Furthermore the guy at the reception was also very non-collaborative when I thought my room was paied on company card. My company card was used as a guarantee only meaning that my room was not paied. I kindly asked to pay the following day when having the company card at hands again - he laughed at me and told me it was absolutely not possible. Finally the check-in guidance was the worst i have ever experienced. Overall a demotivating start in Hamburg. Rooms are okay though!

I've never experienced anything like this before. The photos on *********** convinced us to book this place. When we arrived, we found ourselves in a really seedy neighborhood, and the hotel was absolutely filthy. I asked to see the room first, and there was mold on the windows, and the bed was practically falling apart. It bore no resemblance whatsoever to the pictures on ***********. Despite all this, we decided to stay for the night, partly because it was already evening and we had our 3-year-old child with us, who is undergoing chemotherapy. We presented our ID, CovPass App, and a negative COVID test result. I then asked for the parking garage ticket and offered to leave my ID as collateral since I didn't have the €15 cash on me. At that point, I was told that I hadn't paid for the room. This couldn't be true, as I had booked via PayPal and the payment had already been deducted from my account. When I asked what this meant, I was informed that we weren't allowed to stay and was told to leave. I requested this statement in writing, asked for the employee's name, and requested to speak with their manager, but all my requests were denied. My husband overheard this conversation on the phone and told me to leave. I then left and called ***********. According to ***********, my payment had reached the hotel, and they 'attempted' to retrieve my money for me. The hotel's response, however, was that we had never even been there. I then emailed the hotel myself, and their reply stated that we were denied accommodation because I allegedly refused to show my ID, and therefore they were keeping the payment. Now, having read all the negative experiences here spanning years, I question why *********** continues to list this hotel. We're getting our lawyer involved; we won't stand for this. Attached are photos comparing how the room appears on their website versus how we actually found it.

After booking and paying for this hotel, they informed us that they would not check us in past 10 pm. We requested to cancel because this would not work for us. They kept all the money and ignored all future correspondence, even when we suggested they keep the full money and we'll stay one day less. Do not make the mistake we did and book with them!

Hotel to avoid!!!!!! They say they close arrivals at 10 p.m. but allow you to reserve arrival slots until 1 a.m. the next day and they allow you to block the reservation (without the possibility of being reimbursed). It makes no sense

🔄 Misleading room description: My stay started with a big discrepancy between expectation and reality. I had booked a balcony room but initially received another room without a balcony, the surcharge was not corrected. When the balcony room was finally available the next day, it turned out to be a room with an emergency exit staircase, which is not really a balcony. ❄️ Heating problem: The cold first night was particularly unpleasant because the heating in the room did not work. It was not until the next noon that the problem was fixed, which significantly affected the comfort and quality of my stay. Note: It was winter. 🏢 Room change and inconvenience: After the heating was repaired, I was asked to leave my room because it needed to be cleaned. Despite my request to stay in the current room until the alternative room was ready, this was refused. I was offered the lobby as an alternative, which was very inconvenient for my professional work. 🍽️ Lack of breakfast: Another negative point was the lack of a breakfast offer, which I would have expected as standard in a hotel of this category. 🕒 Limited reception hours: The reception was not manned around the clock, which made communication and problem-solving difficult. 🔒 Inadequate room facilities: The lack of basic amenities such as a safe or closet in the room made it difficult to safely store my personal belongings. 🔊 Thin walls: The rooms were extremely thin, which meant that I was constantly disturbed by noises from the hallway and neighboring rooms. 💡 Disturbing hallway light: The light shining through the gap under the door was particularly disturbing at night and affected my sleep. 🚶‍♂️ Noisy hallway: Every noise in the hallway was clearly audible, which made the noise even more disturbing. 🛗 Worn elevator: The elevator in the hotel looked outdated and worn, which negatively affected the overall appearance of the hotel. 🧼 Condition of the room: While the bed was clean and in order, the floor and curtains had stains, which raised questions about how thoroughly the room was cleaned. 🏃‍♂️ Early check-out and lack of refund: Due to the many inconveniences, I checked out after one day instead of the planned four days. Despite the hotel confirming my early check-out, I was charged the full price for the first day and the unused nights. My requests for a refund were completely ignored, which underlines the lack of professionalism of the hotel. Conclusion: 👎 Due to these diverse and serious defects, I unfortunately cannot recommend the Sleephotels Hamburg. The combination of misleading room descriptions, poor service and inadequate amenities led to a deep disappointment with my stay. Potentially
