"Stayed here as we were attending an event at the Piece Hall and Halifax parkrun the following morning. Location is excellent with the four story car park literally next door (£14 for 24 hours). Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Halifax centre is a short walk away and Shroggs Park 25 mins away. We would stay here again if we return."

"Everything about this hotel is first class. The warm welcome and service throughout was exceptional. The bedroom was perfect, very thoughtfully designed, beautifully decorated, very comfortable bed, great shower and toiletries. Dinner was incredible; a great balanced menu with dishes to wow and impress, whilst also traditional favourites with a high quality twist. Loads of local, seasonal produce and flavours, great wine list, stunning presentation and VERY tasty. Served in gorgeous surroundings. The hotel is stunning; oozing character, history and stories, set in wonderful grounds. Didn’t want to leave, and definitely hope to return."

"Before I say anything, the lovely man at the reception was outstanding, polite and willing to help. This comment is about the management of the hotel. I booked through trip and paid in advance but they did not have this information upon arrival. There was an invoice for £40 whereas I had paid £50 through Trip. The man at receiption quickly waved the new invoice. The hotel is very run down. The room was in an apalling state. Although the bedsheets and towels were clean the overall state of the room was awful. The drains were clocked, the shower screen broken, there were stains everywhere. I understand it’s a very cheap hotel but there should be a minimum of respect to the customers. There was free breakfast which was okay. Some of the other customers were quite loud and roudy."

"Very near the rail station. Nice morning staff. She was multitasking. Dated, cold room but clean. Water pressure super. Relaxing. Complementary coffee, tea,and cookies Night staff unhelpful with my simple taxi issue. I could have done a bank transfer right away since I am a hotel guest. Morning lady staff allowed me to leave my stuff so I could walk around after check out."
