Hakone Gora Karaku Reviews

We were looking for onsen with private bath on the balcony and probably hit the sweet spot. Unfortunately we had only 1 night stay, but it was fantastic. Onsen is located at the top station Gora, where you can get from Odawara. That’s around 2 hours from Tokyo all together, around 3 hours from Kyoto. Last 2 sections of the way are going through a picturesque steep railway. Views are great! Be sure to rush to the front or back seats (doesn’t matter which) to secure a spot for nice photographs. Private bath is fantastic, rooms are clean and spacious with a touch of ryokan style (tatami etc). That’s a perfect place to sit and relax doesn’t matter it’s sunshine or pooring rain outside. The food was fantastic (according to my wife), however the options are limited if you’re not eating fish or sea products due to allergy or other reasons. For Karaku team - I would suggest adding a signature wagyu set for those who would like something else. Selection of wine and alcohol drinks is superb. Free snacks and coffee are available till 8 p.m. as well with a view terrace. For those who like some regular conbini stuff - Lawson is around 10 mins walk with Miyazaki style trains passing by👌🏻 All in all, we wish we had stayed at least 2 nights as there are lots of activities around.  Thanks to Karaku staff for a warm welcome and tailored experience!

Staff are very attentive and warm. Complimentary lounge is wonderful. Room is spacious and practical. Enjoyed the hot spring facilities. Thank you for the memorable stay.

The hotel environment is comfortable, the service is good, the environment is elegant, comfortable and quiet, the food is beautifully presented, but the portion is a little small, the room is comfortable and quiet, a good place to rest on vacation°

The hotel is just around the corner from the mountain train station. The environment is very good and the facilities are complete. Toiletries and lotions are provided. You can check in directly with just a change of clothes. I left my luggage at the Tokyo Hotel. The Kaiseki dinner was of good quality. If you are not used to Kaiseki, you can get off at the previous stop, Mori no Bijutsu. There is Lawson opposite. Buy some snacks, instant noodles and cook in the microwave!

The worst luxury hotel in history! The overall service is very poor, they can't speak English, and they completely ignore the guests. My five-month-old son's face was all red and swollen because he slept on their bedding. He cried for several nights. My husband was also red and swollen. I went to the hotel front desk, but they refused to deal with it, refused to admit it, refused to change the bedding, and did not provide any medicine. A bunch of people were still giggling there. They treated a five-month-old baby like this. It can be said that they are inhumane! ! ! Until the end, their manager never came out. He had a cold face, shirked responsibility, and did not deal with it. This is the worst and most inhumane hotel we have felt in Japan after so many times! Besides, the food is basically not enough, and the price of extra food and drink is 4-5 times that of outside! If you go with children, it is strongly recommended to be cautious. It is a completely inhumane hotel without service! There is no child bed!

Not bad, great

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The service is very bad. They kept calling you in the morning to ask about breakfast. But when I checked in, they said that there was only a 7:30 slot left. So after I refused, they called me again at 8 and 9 the next day. I didn't get a good rest at all. The facilities of the hotel are totally out of line with the price. Check-in said that dinner can be refunded if not used, but when I checked out, they said that it was not refundable. This is a hotel with no credibility and poor management. The curtains leaked light and it was blinding in the morning.

The high-quality service and comfortable environment made us feel happy physically and mentally in the noisy city life. Thank you to the hotel's Japanese breakfast staff for carefully replacing the seafood that I couldn't eat due to illness. I will go to Jiajiu in Atami for a short stay at a suitable time.

The best thing is the service! The decoration style is relatively modern, not very old-fashioned, you can communicate in English (many hotel communication is quite annoying), you can take the subway to Odawara Station, you will send an email before the trip, and the food is ordinary, not amazing.

I booked for others and they were very satisfied. They didn't report any problems. They were also very satisfied with the surrounding travel and tourism. I will still give priority to this hotel next time.
