YuYu Hakone - Private Open Air Onsen Usage Guaranteed Reviews

The staff was very friendly and the amenities included use of the onsen for one hour was great as it was included within the price. The room was clean peaceful and had a nice Japanese vibe. Unfortunately, the room is not en suite. I would say the location wasn’t great as you should note it isn’t actually in the main area of Hakone but rather by the lake where you take the boat ride. You also have to walk up a hill to get there.

The private bath was really nice and relaxing. Staff was exceptionally friendly. Location is convenient, its in the middle of the region and is located near a bus stop and cable car. We had no problem getting to and from hotel using public transport.

Nice place, helpful staff, gave us the opportunity to enjoy onsen late night when we arrived. Room was spacious, with all necessary staff for short stay, only downside was a bit of a sewer smell in the room.

Good private onsen for couples

Out of the way, lucky I am driving. The couple Onsen is not really private but is a "book" system and is outside main building, limited to 50 mins time slot. There is no private bathroom but shared bathroom. The only good point is what other travellers mentioned the young and helpful front desk from all over the world, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Indonesia etc. Not worth the 120S$ I paid via trip.com

Beautiful onsen located close to Lake Ashi and other beautiful sites. Room is clean with good amenities available. Perfect stay for a good price aswell.

Overall: 8/10 Location: 9/10 (public transport)  No restaurant/ convenience store nearby.

Very clean. Great service and friendly staff. Onsen is wonderful. Only issue it the location, especially in the evening. If you're looking for a place for relaxation and quietness, it's amazing!

Amazing hotel in an amazing location. The Japanese style room was very comfortable and the use of the private onsen a bonus when booking a stay there. Since we were driving we also appreciated the free parking on property. We had an amazing stay!

Facilities: The facilities are not very complete. The room lacks a private shower, the toilet is old and antique, and the refrigerator is under the sink, which is quite inconvenient. Cleanliness: Generally clean, but there are many broken items and some dirty areas that haven't been cleaned. Environment: The environment is okay, but transportation is not convenient. There is only the J line at the entrance, which has few buses and is expensive. The regular tourist passes purchased for sightseeing are not valid. Service: It is listed as having a Chinese-speaking front desk, but there isn't one. Overall, the hotel is average. The value for money isn't very good. It usually costs a few hundred yuan, but I paid six times that much. There are no restaurants, convenience stores, or transportation nearby.
