First of all, the location, cannot be better on Shamian island, located opposite the river park with all the activities going on. The room was clean, comfortable with a great roof terrace (no real view), nice bathroom with piping hot water. My overall feeling is that the hotel is a little tired in need of refurbishment and decoration, but the location and room itself makes up for this. I would stay again

First of all, the hotel is right by the river on Shamian Island, with an excellent location. The price is more than 300, which is very cost-effective. The same room in White Swan costs more than 1,000, haha. Then the hygiene is good, clean and tidy, it should have just been renovated, especially the bathroom. The facilities are at the level of a guesthouse, simple, complete, useful and usable (with a refrigerator and a safe). The TV is very small and cannot be projected. The items are OK, but they are too old, especially the bath towels, which are indeed thick and pure cotton, but they are worn out and have holes after being starched and washed. The breakfast is outrageous. The front desk receptionist introduced some snacks at the beginning. Yes, you can bring egg and milk cake to eat on the road. This doesn’t matter, it just doesn’t add points 😊. In short, the location is superb (the transportation is average, there are many taxis in the scenic area, and the subway station is a little far away), in the scenic area, opposite the Pearl River, there are many scenic spots around, the hotel is clean and hygienic, I didn’t see any small animals in this season, the waiter is friendly but not enthusiastic (the master who repaired the window switch in the room is very friendly and professional). The elevator was under maintenance when I checked in, but fortunately I only lived on the third floor. Exercise!

So it is very convenient to see Western architecture, watch blockbusters, and take a boat, and it is not tiring, because you can go back to rest when you are tired. So it is very convenient for those with elderly people and children. However, there is also something to say here. The hotel does not have high requirements for basic equipment. When it is time to eat, you can close the windows to avoid the smell of oil smoke. There are also hotels a few dozen meters next to the hotel. Breakfast is given to you in a plastic bag. There are fixed boxed milk and boiled eggs. The others may be sweet potatoes and corn, or some cakes. This is a bit unexpected.

I went to Shamian Island in Guangzhou this weekend and chose to stay on the island to better experience all aspects of Shamian. Of course, I couldn't afford to stay at the White Swan, and the Victory Hotel was a bit overpriced, so I chose the Shamian Hotel as the second best option. Shamian Hotel is located at No. 52, Shamian South Street, opposite Shamian Park. It is actually in the same building as Qiaomei Food. The first and second floors are part of Qiaomei Food, and the fourth floor also has the latter's VIP rooms and the hotel's office, and the other areas are the hotel's guest rooms. The 412 executive twin room I stayed in was actually the last one in the corridor. The room price was less than 400 yuan, and it was worth staying there. The decoration of the whole room is not luxurious, and it even retains the style of the previous guesthouse, but basically everything can be used to its full potential. Facing the entrance is the bathroom and shower room. What's more interesting is that his shower room has no sealed door, so I always wonder if the water will splash into the bathroom outside when taking a shower. On the other side of the door is the cloakroom and tea table. The door of the cloakroom needs to be carefully adjusted, otherwise it is not easy to turn off the lights. There are two small bottles of water on the tea table. I saw that someone gave a bad review for this, but I don't think it's worth it. There is a low sofa for luggage next to the tea table, separated by a trash can. The fabric of the sofa seems to have been polluted, but at least it won't dirty the luggage. Opposite the TV are two beds, and between the beds is a bedside table, which is still in the red paint style of the 1980s. There are two single sofas and a coffee table by the window. The sofa and coffee table are not arranged by the window. There is also a walkway behind. Going back to the other side is a corner desk, and there are also plugs to turn on the computer and mobile phone. Of course, when sitting here, the air conditioner is blowing directly in front of you, which is normal. Many hotel rooms are designed like this, because if it is not designed like this, the air conditioner will blow towards the bed. Although the whole room is very old, it is at least quite clean. During the two days of stay, no cockroaches or insects were found, there was no dust accumulation in the corners, no blood or stains on the sheets, and the toilet seat and towels were also clean. I am quite satisfied with this. Of course, I also need to point out that it is impossible to exterminate cockroaches in Guangzhou. When I was about to check out on the last day, I had already dragged my luggage out of the room, and I suddenly found a cockroach lying at the door of 409 in the corridor. This hotel is really in a bad shape. In addition, it should be pointed out that this hotel does not have breakfast. The reason is very simple. The location of the breakfast restaurant on the first floor is Qiaomei Food and another simple restaurant. If you want to have breakfast, you can go to Qiaomei, but I don’t recommend going there. The sixth floor of Taoranxuan next door has a more delicious view of the panoramic view of the Pearl River. Overall, Shamian Hotel is better than I thought. It is cheap but not low-quality, with a superior location and quiet and clean rooms. Except for being a little old, there are no major disadvantages. It is a good choice for personal travel.
