"We came to Gstaad to celebrate a birthday event with friends. This hotel was on their list of "recommended" hotels. Nice smiles at reception and friendly introduction, but a hotel lives from hard and software. Here the hardware is totally deficient. Superior room, the most expensive room category before the suites. Motel-like room, Ikea style furniture, miniscule bathroom and a fabulous view on the parking lot. Ground floor terrace. Main street to the ski lift. Without drawn curtains and sitting in the dark, everybody can look straight into the room. This is the worst reality check I have encountered in my 60 years of worldwide traveling. No, absolutely no relationship with the website. Either we have been ripped off and we received a massive downgrade or the website is a total scam. Uncomfortable beds and badly isolated walls. We are counting the hours to be able to leave this place. Stay away"

Noisy position next to a parking lot and the train station. With all of the wonderful choices for beds in Gstaad, this is the last place I would lay my head."

"The hotel is wonderfully located, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The spa facilities are excellent, and the full-body massage I chose was very relaxing. The rooms are clean and spacious. The overall ambiance is very cozy with lots of wood. The breakfast buffet is generous, and the buffet is always promptly replenished. You won't find any empty platters even if you arrive a little later in the morning. All in all, this hotel, although not inexpensive, comes highly recommended."

"The hotel is located away from the town. It’s not really set up to walk. A fleet of cars will take you back and forth and is very efficient. The hotel is not really set up to ski either. It’s more to loll and spa. The spa is lovely, service varies but the reception ladies are lovely and go above and beyond. The rooms are dark and the light switches have a delay and seem to need to be updated. The style is dark. Hard to read in bed. The hotel is expensive, but I feel like it’s built for people who do not care. Really it is the best hotel in town as it is the newest. Concierge team is terrible. This really affected my rating of the property. They seem to have one man who knows everything and the rest of the team are awful. At this price point it needs to be flawless. A beautiful welcome set up in the suite, but was it an overall five star wow experience? For me no, but that’s not to say I will not go back!"

"Ultima initially messed up my reservation by contacting me and telling me that actually they're closing for the season at the halfway point of my 4-day stay. It was frustrating but they made up for the inconvenience with a high level of hospitality. The food and drinks were good, and I loved having a cigar with my dinner. The hotel itself is superb, and the spa is incredible. Service was top notch, and everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and helpful."

"The location is excellent. Because I have allergies, the carpet was very bad for me. It was old and I think it couldn't be cleaned anymore. Otherwise everything was clean. We had to take my dogs with us unexpectedly because the dog sitter all over suddenly didn't want to take care of my dogs anymore. In your hotel you didn't cause any problems but were just understanding and I appreciate that very much. Otherwise we should have left.   In the restaurant a special table was made for us and my four-legged friends. They were all very sweet and very friendly to my Caisy and Flocky. The service from the restaurant was a 5 plus. We really enjoyed the menu: everything was very good. I have traveled and lived in 5 star plus hotels all over the world my whole life and I know when people give service and are professionals. But the human touch is still very rare. Someone I/we would like to thank especially for her help is Kiara or Ciara. She had the personal, very professional service that you hardly find anymore. I don't know how she did it, but even though it's the time of year when everything is fully booked and everyone is under stress, she made time for all of the customers and still didn't make anyone wait. She saw so many little things and helped with them, not just for us but for all of her customers. I have rarely seen anyone so friendly, helpful and professional. She already knew what the customers needed and took care of it before we even said it. I would like to thank her again for everything she did for us. We both agreed that when we come back to this area, we will come back to you just because of Kiara. (I think that's how you spell it). Kind regards Monique ter Meulen"

"Adorable cabin like rooms. Restaurant is good. 10 min walk to the ‘city center’ and 15-20 min walk to the train station. Awesome amenities for kids like a little racetrack. I made use of the ping pong table. If you’re into skiing/snowy activities this is the spot to be, because the lift is literally across the hotel. Rooms can be a little loud at night. All in all a great experience for the price. I’d stay here again."

"We visited this morning. We live locally, so thought we would go to this hotel for a coffee. We were met by an unfriendly and austere man on Reception. Undeterred, we ordered a coffee and were presented with the worst cappuccinos we have ever been served; 6.30CHF each, for basically a cup of hot water with white froth on top! A tasteless biscuit was added, to add insult to injury. Very disappointed; the coffee machine (and biscuit choice) definitely needs upgrading!"

"Third visit. Three nights. This trip we were joined by family. Two very average rooms on the first floor. Minimal view. The bad part it was the side of the hotel where construction was going on. From 8am to 6pm large construction vehicles and pile driving made the patio unusable. If we had known we would have gone somewhere else. The staff of the hotel just shrugged when we brought up the noise and room. Said they were very busy and booked-up. At this price point($2000 per room per night) I would have expected a little more of a response. Food OK, but nothing outstanding. Hey it’s Switzerland so expect $50 for a cocktail. Great hiking in the area and the concierge team is helpful with planning."
