"I stayed for one night, the check in is only after 16:30 when the bar opens. I had a room on the road side, which was hot and stuffy. They provided a fan which was noisy! I thought the shower facilities were scruffy and in need of updating. The shared toilet at my end of the hotel ran out of toilet paper. There is a Chinese takeaway next door and a convenience store on the other side. It’s about a 10 min walk into the center of the town. To be fair I have stayed in better places for less. I couldn’t recommend it as I didn’t see any positives."

"Room was clean, bed comfortable but unfortunately didn't get a good nights sleep because my room was directly above reception, so the main door was banging constantly throughout the night. Was up early and nobody was at reception as i left to ask how my stay was. The food was okay. Location was good so was easy to find. Plenty of spaces in the car park."

"For the price you pay, this is very good. I'll start with what I liked. Good location within a very short walk to town and to the river, where I went for a run. Toiletries include conditioner, which is rare. Receptionist was friendly. Bed was decently comfortable. My niggles? The bathroom, and some other parts of the hotel, smelled a bit of smoke. I could hear the TV of my neighbor. The duvet is very warm, even once the weather has turned warm, but they do provide a fan. The lighting could be better, especially in the bathroom."

"Stopped over for work. I was a bit dubious after reading some of the reivews but tbh it was more than fine. Room/bathroom was clean no problems there, decentish size. I've stayed in more expensive hotels which the rooms were tiny and in much worse condition so it was a nice surprise. Service was really good, Simon was on reception, very friendly and hospitible. Genuinely couldn't have been more helpful. Even though it's just off the A1, the traffic noise was fine for me but I do live near a motorway so kinda used to it. There's a Starbucks next door and across the dual carriage there's a truckstop bar and a diner so there are a couple of options nearby for food if you don't want to travel far."
