Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel Reviews

A bit dated, but generally a good hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. Our main grievance was the on-site restaurant where food was poor and the prices extortionate. The “chefs salad” could have been prepared by anyone, and was just a random assortment of meats and salad piled on top of each other. A 22oz draught lager was $14. Despite not mentioning this anywhere, a 15% gratuity is automatically added, and then they also ask for a tip. We would not return to this hotel based on our experiences at the restaurant.

The hotel's outdoor pool has pleasantly warm water, which is perfect for the kids to have fun in.

Susie, the concierge, was excellent—very interesting-looking hotel (vintage look). Location is excellent.

Very nice hotel and location is just perfect to get to the Grand Canyon National Park. Restaurant in the hotel so it’s convenient to grab dinner. We didn’t expect a hot tub! And that’s perfect for winter

I had a pleasant stay at the Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel; you couldn't ask for a better location with close proximity to the National Park.   Check-in and check-out were both efficient and the staff friendly.     The hotel had an outdated feel, but since we hardly spent time there, it wasn't an issue.   We very much welcomed tea/coffee making facilities and made use of the micro-wave.    

We had a wonderful stay here. The room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Room was cleaned well each day. Highly enjoyed the breakfast/dinner options available at the in hotel restaurant. Location is great and close to the park. We had no wait to get in the park as any day we entered before 10 am. If for some reason you will be entering the Canyon later than that then understand there may be a line/wait.

Let me begin by making the readers aware that the Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel is more of a motel than a hotel. Entrance to all the rooms including the elevator is via the outside. It's not like your typical hotel where you enter a lobby and proceed to your room or the elevators. When entering the GCPH to check in the lobby seemed very clean but dated. The staff was extremely friendly. When we first entered our assigned room, it smelled of smoke masked by air freshener. We proceeded back to the lobby to complain and asked for another room. The second room was acceptable, however, the room was small, dark and very dated. We had breakfast the next morning in their restaurant off of the lobby and the food and service was good. If you are looking for a place to stay that is close to the park entrance but lacks updated features and charm, then this would be an acceptable place to stay at. Cathy from Pennsylvania

10 mins from the park entrance, clean, restaurants around. Wasn't a fan of the hot tub being open until 10pm as the noise of people talking LOUDLY carried into our room which overlooked it.

The hotel is very near the national park, just a 10 mins drive to the park entrance, which is very convenient for people who didn’t manage to get the lodging within the national park. Has food options such as McDonald’s and Wendy’s near the hotel.

Fair stay. The bedsheets are very old. Super nice location indeed. Only 15-min drive to Grand Canyon.

Freindly reception. However, the onditioner is very noisy and disturb sleep.
