"Lovely roomy sea-view 'premium' en-suite room with small kitchenette unit (small oven-microwave, fridge, sink, toaster) and the makings of a 'continental' breakfast left in the room. Eating out options are all in Girvan or further afield (Austins Restaurant in Girvan was fine). Being a sea front room the road noise from the A77 could be a bit much, but it was quiet enough at night. The two staff we dealt with were both helpful and friendly."

"Our stay at Trump Turnberry was fantastic! We stayed in a King Deluxe room which had beautiful decor and a lovely relaxing feel. The service from the staff was great, specifically the friendly check in where we were given a full explanation of amenities and food options, the tour of the spa, and my personal favourite the turn down service with complimentary chocolates. Can’t wait to stay again!"

"My friend and I stayed 5 nights here whilst visiting family and friends in the Girvan area. To be honest, we were somewhat surprised on arrival to find the building closed, none of the doors were open and a sign led you to the side door whereby we had to call the mobile number displayed. We were given a key and advised as where to find our room. We had booked a twin room with private bathroom, and our room was on the first floor at the back of the property, facing a courtyard/carpark and further view of the hills. Room was quite compact and the decor somewhat shabby with swirly carpets and curtains that didn't fit! We found our private bathroom out on the corridor with doors to another 2 rooms, but were unsure if it was actually private just to us, as anyone could've used it. Our continental breakfast was already in the room, consisting of croissants/pan au chocolate, and branded cereals, crockery and cutlery, along with fridge stocked with fresh milk, yogurts, jams and butter and orange juice, plus kettle and plenty of coffee/tea etc. Although I've said the decor was shabby, I have to emphasise that everything and everywhere was clean, and that makes a BIG difference! The beds were comfortable and the bedding was clean. In the morning we met the housekeeper, Elaine, who assured us that the bathroom was solely for our use, and that the other rooms were all en suite. She would replenish our breakfast goodies every morning and refresh the towels and was always pleasant and cheerful. The hotel was occupied every night, the other rooms seemed to be one-nighters, either people touring around or contract workers in the area, so we were the only guests staying for any length of time. I think there is some confusion in calling the Royal a hotel, because there was no evidence of any dining-room despite a menu board displayed outside, but on asking about this, Elaine did say that if requested in advance, meals could be available. (we didn't require) I would say that we settled in and enjoyed our stay, being out and about every day, we were just tired and ready for a good nights' sleep at the end of it. We knew we had a comfy bed and a good breakfast in the morning and everything was clean, okay the decor needs improving but apparently some rooms have already been refurbished so in time they will get round to room 7. Overall we felt we had value for money. And thank you, Elaine, you're a gem!"

"BIG SCAMM !!!!! Beautiful property. Shameful conduct. Our family of six booked three rooms at Glenapp Castle for a birthday celebration, spending over GBP 3,000. Due to British embassy processing delays entirely outside our control, our UK visa was issued valid from 30th May — making it legally impossible for us to check in on our booked dates of 27th May. We hold the official government visa document proving this. Over 10 days of correspondence, we proposed every fair resolution — a full refund, a date transfer, a 25% penalty with 75% refund, and a credit voucher. Every single one was refused. The proprietor, Mr. Paul Szkiler, personally questioned whether our visa situation was genuine — before being proven categorically wrong by the official visa document. Most importantly: Glenapp Castle confirmed in writing that they do not hold our payment. ******* holds the funds and only releases them on the day of arrival. They are blocking a resolution that costs them nothing they have received. The property is undoubtedly beautiful. But beauty means nothing when a hotel treats guests — particularly international guests from India — this way. If you are an overseas visitor, be warned: if anything beyond your control prevents your stay, Glenapp Castle will keep every penny, offer nothing, and question your honesty. We have escalated this to Relais & Châteaux, VisitScotland, AA Hotel Services, Michelin Guide, *******, and UK Trading Standards. We are also pursuing a formal credit card chargeback. This matter is far from over."

There was a pool on site which we didn’t use but did make use of the mini golf and pool table which were great. Also the staff were very polite and accommodating.
