"We are writing to inform Tripadvisor readers of 4 things about Chateau Bellevue: 1) Charlotte's cooking is exceptionally good The restaurant was full or almost full every night, and most of the customers were French. Everyone seemed to be having a lovely time 2) We ate a la carte as well as on the demi-pension menu. For 7 consecutive nights we had the demi-pension menu and we never had the same dishes served up again. So unlike some previous reviews, we would say that it is entirely reasonable to dine here for many nights and NOT get bored with the food. In fact the only problem is that some of the dishes served up were so good that we were dying for them to be served up again. 3) The Chateau is beautifully kept with a lovely terrace and swimming pool. The room was perfectly comfortable. 4) All the staff are fantastic and try so hard to keep you happy . Emilie ,Thomas and Charlotte run Chateau Bellevue as a family concern and it truly shows . They are dedicated to the place and this gives the whole establishment a very bespoke and welcoming touch. We are writing a series of Travel books , and they made time from their very busy schedule to talk to us about Gascony, France , cooking and the intricacies of running a hotel-restaurant in 2025. This will be very helpful for the books and we are most grateful. Path and Anne"

"Arrived for dinner having had a reservation made a week previously by the owners of the place we were staying. We were told that the restaurant was closed with no explanation why. Apparently they had contacted people who had booked but not us as it was a “foreign number”. Err, you mean you can’t dial a foreign number? And made no sense anyway as they had the details of a local. I would have been less annoyed if the tone of the conversation had not been that it was our fault. Terrible experience. Avoid."

"Absolutley awful experience avoid at all costs. We went this hotel as part of a wedding party and have never experienced such rudeness from the staff . Not only this but when we arrived the pictures were certainly deceiving, especially the pool which they could take much better care of. The staff were abusive, especially the male in the kitchen, who if you wanted options to eat was angry and offensive - we asked for a cheese omelette and he said we have it with bacon in it or not at all. He made a point of looking up and down and making us feel terribly uncomfortable. We ended up leaving early because the place was just awful - I really would not reccomend this hostile and frosty hotel unless you like to be treated like dirt on a shoe."

"The exterior is very dirty, and the swimming pool water was dirty and too hot. The area around the pool was not clean or properly sanitized. The staff was rude and not polite at all. The food was disgusting and definitely not recommended. The children’s playground was dirty and did not feel safe for kids to play in. The yard was also poorly maintained. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience and would not recommend this place"
