"The room is perfectly clean, with new furniture, mattresses, and bedding. The reception staff is friendly and efficient in resolving any issues. However, I would like to address the room's design, which is very office-like. I believe that a brighter color scheme would make the room more inviting. Additionally, I feel sorry for your staff, as they are treated unfairly. The man outside is forced to stand on the porch all day to open the gate! Regardless of the weather, whether it is hot and sunny or cold and windy, he does not have a place to sit. Why don't you put him in a separate room where he can sit? And put a camera on the gate, so that when he sees a car approaching, he can open the gate. It's a simple solution! Doesn't the receptionist even have a chair? How is that possible? If she's tired or has swollen feet, how can she greet guests? It doesn't matter to the guest whether she's standing sitting. But it matters to her! Take better care of your staff, and they will return the favor! I really hope for positive changes in your hotel and for your employees!"

"We stayed for 2 nights using it as a base for exploring the local area. We were greeted and checked in by very friendly staff who were very efficient. The room exceeded our expectations, it was comfortable, in good repair and extremely clean. The bathroom and shower were decent too so all in all great value for money. I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again. We didn't eat breakfast in house opting to use the Spur over the road because of the vegan options."

"Wilderness is a beach paradise, and Dune Villa is one of the best bed and breakfast hotels we have stayed in on our visits there. James made a special point of welcoming us in a down to earth and practical way. Our room overlooked the beach, and was very well equipped with lots of wardrobe space. A bit of a descent ( 102 steps) to the sand but an easy gradient so no problem. Staff all very attentive and friendly. Pool could be a bit bigger, but there's always the sea to swim in! Excellent breakfast, can't think of anything to complain about. James does a great job."

"This is the perfect seaside place right next to the ocean in Herolds Bay. Expect comfortable, spacious interiors, panoramic sea views and safe parking. Within 25m of the ocean! All the required facilities were appreciated – a braai on the patio, a large fridge/ freezer, inverters (no load shedding!), dishwasher, DSTV, cleaning service, etc. Antoinette gave us excellent service – thank you! Ideal as a show stopper space in Herolds Bay. "

"It is a guest house - nice, well taken care of and recommendable but not a luxurious 4* place. Its great plus is the direct location at the sea overlooking Wilderness Beach which can be reached in a few minutes via a descending wooden boardwalk. Our room (no. 3) was a double with ocean view, two decks, a high ceiling with a chandelier, a wardrobe, a TV, a small sitting area and a bathroom. Regrettably the latter only had a somewhat wobbly bathtub and no separate shower. Breakfast came as a mini buffet with extras à la carte, beautifully arranged by lovely staff. As Room 3 was adjacent to the breakfast room our feeling of privacy suffered a bit. My advice: Rather go for the Honeymoon Suite and you may have a perfect vacation..."

"The Old Trading Post ticked all the boxes and provided us with exactly what we needed for the 4 days we spent in the Wilderness area. Off the beaten track in a private, quiet area, with plenty space for us to relax in the pool, braai or enjoy the scrumptious breakfasts and exceptional pizzas prepared by the hosts. Mike and René catered to all our needs and we thoroughly enjoyed the friendly chatter and personal service. I cant' wait to visit again!"

"The room i stayed in had broken furniture, tv did not work, aircon did not work, there was no bottled water, not even soap. Even worse they do not offer dinner even stating it in the communication, also they could not even cater for me for breakfast as a vegan even after given communication about it before my visit. I only slept and showered there, could not even eat or drink anything, could not watch tv, could not use the aircon, my worst stay ever as a person who travel a lot. "

Lezette was a wonderful hostess and nothing was too much trouble! I had to leave very early on some mornings and they saw to it that I could have breakfast before leaving ....the omelette was superb! There is safe parking, wifi gave no problems and there was power during loadshedding. I will definitely return! "
