"I chose this lodging because I wanted to visit Eiheiji Temple. It's a five-minute walk away, and offers experiences at Eiheiji, including zazen (a meditation session) at 3:05 PM and sutra copying (a sutra calligraphy session) with a 4:30 AM gathering. Free temple visit tickets are available, so stop by the front desk first. All rooms face the Eiheiji approach. While it's not a hot spring, you can relax with scented bath salts. The open-air bath is small, though. There's a shower in the room, and even if it's crowded, the large public bath is available when there are many foreign visitors. The shower head and hair dryer in the large public bath are Refa, which are quite good. The entire inn smells of Eiheiji incense. There's also a video of Eiheiji on the TV, which is helpful. There's no parking lot, so after unloading your luggage, you'll need to find a nearby parking lot. Parking is 300 yen everywhere. Eiheiji closes at 4:30 PM, and the souvenir shops along the approach also close around 4 PM, so you'll likely spend most of your time in your room, so bring a book with you."

"This was my first time using this hotel. I used it to support my child who was in town for a competition. The hotel and rooms were clean, and the buffet-style selection of shampoos and other toiletries was a unique and nice service. The view from the room was also lovely. I liked that the lobby smelled nice, with the shampoos and other toiletries giving off a pleasant scent. If I had to nitpick, when I asked if there were any restaurants nearby for dinner, the explanation was too vague. I wandered around Katamachi but couldn't find any good restaurants, so I ended up going to the area around Fukui Station. It would have been nice if there had been more information about nearby restaurants. That's what I thought."
