"I won’t criticise as that would not be fair on the staff, all of whom are exceptional. So just a few observations, a grand old French house set in stunning isolation in acres of parkland. Bit of a quirky room, named Pekin, decorated Chinese style, but all a bit tired, some peeling wall Paper and a generally run down feeling. Though a very comfortable nights sleep in a lovely bed. Public rooms all very interesting, though again all a bit jaded Dining experience was a tad disappointing, restaurant split in two , beautiful laid tables on terrace, but single diners appear to be seated in a cafeteria style main ding room. A no choice menu, probably be cause it was a Monday, all prepared by a chef who knows his stuff but is probably trying too hard. Interesting textures not too my taste, al a bit slippery, I prefer some crunch I skipped breakfast, price seemed a we bit high. All in all not too bad, they could do better, indeed this place could be exceptional"

"Upon arrival, we were well received by a friendly lady. The room was clean with a kettle and instant coffee, the bathroom was functional and clean, and the free parking was nice with plenty of space. The hotel is very good when you're staying for one night. Overall, we are very satisfied."
