Hyatt Place Eugene/Oakway Center

Great front desk, but ask for park $18 and there is the VDT charges(cry)

The hotel is in a nice location. We enjoyed using the gym and the breakfast is good. This is actually my 3rd time staying here, but unfortunately we did encounter a few issues this time around: 1) The TV was not working when I got to the room. I called the front desk to troubleshoot and they came and had to reset the box. This took at least 30minutes to rectify the no-signal. It eventually worked, but I missed a good chunk of the NBA playoff game I was trying to watch. 2) The pool was not open. I guess it hasn't been open since mid-April and I didn't see an ETA on when it would be open again. It would've been nice to know this prior to checking-in. 3) There were no to-go cups for coffee, just ceramic mugs. This made it more difficult to bring coffee back to the room without spilling (I was bringing coffee back from breakfast for me and my wife).

This hotel thinks they are high end and fancy, they are not. You enter the hotel with an elevator. There is no front desk to speak of. The elevators don’t always work. Parking is $20. Breakfast is $11 a person. I’ve stayed at so many Hyatt’s and have always been a fan. This one was bizarre.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and nice. Close to shopping, restaurants, and the movie theatre. Enjoyed our stay.

We used to always stay here when we were in town. The cost has been rising and not worth the $250-$300 a night fee and now with them charging for breakfast it was probably our last time there. It needs to be updated. Bed was way too soft. Breakfast is NOT worth $11.
