"We stayed at the Coray for 4 nights over New Years and had a lovely time. The hotel was spotless and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The size of our room was good and the bed was comfy. Yes, the bathroom is dated but who spends their time in there?! The shower was hot so perfectly happy with that. The food was tasty too. In my opinion a lovely 3 star hotel and a perfect base for a skiing holiday in Encamp"

"Breakfast was good. The room was a bit small. Try to book a larger room if possible. The front desk service was mostly good. The elevator was a bit problematic. It was broken when we checked in. There was no staff to help with our luggage, which was normal, as there was only one female staff member at the front desk. The luggage storage service was also available. However, when we went to retrieve our luggage, the female staff member led us down to the basement. We had a suitcase, a backpack, and a coffee bag. She didn't help with any of them. I was a little shocked, but I understood she needed to get back to the front desk quickly."

"This is not a luxury hotel.....you are not paying for a luxury hotel! you are paying for a typical ski hotel. The rooms are super clean the food is very school dinners (but hearty and tasty this is not a complaint) yes it smelt a bit foisty as you came into reception but this in no way impacted our experience. The staff were all friendly and the location was good the free bus to take you to the Funicamp stops a little way up or down the street for the money we paid I would highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again."

"The hotel was renovated as a simple painting. The bathroom in my room lost smalling in a large area covered with white ink. The whole bathroom lounge is exhausted and bad look. The window is double glass but the cold comes through the wooden piece that is over the window and where it collects the store."

"We were going to Caldea with a friend for the weekend in September. The hotel is average, decent and cheap. You can tell it's a typical hotel for skiers. It doesn't stand out in any way, either for the good or the bad. They gave us a room with a small balcony overlooking the main street. At night the area is quiet. The TV didn't have many channels and was almost on the ceiling."

"Rooms are a roof with 4 walls. Manager slammed our doors and decided he would stay outside and watch us. Gunshots fired outside hotel and fireworks lit. Rooms need serious renovation and furniture either dusty or stained. Food was basic and either undercooked or overcooked. Awful place and we will never return. People crying over my being able to sleep due to outside gunshots"

"The Hotel has a good location and easy access to the Fun Bus to get to the Funicamp Gondola. The staff at reception were not only very friendly but really helpful, so too were the staff in the Restaurant. They have a ski locker (not heated for boot use), but adequate. The cost of parking at the hotel is quite pricey and more than places close by. This is unnecessary, should be free for clients. The quality of the cooking of the food was well below what can be expected at such a location. In all fairness the chef needs to go back to chef school on how to prepare an edible buffet. Most meats were either completely overcooked or hard. Good cuts of pork, beef and chicken either pre-cooked and re-heated or just badly cooked. Sad to say many of the dishes were not as tasty as they could be. Rice was many times just over dry and the food was always between luke warm and cool to cold. They had a microwave there but that is simply NOT the point. So much is sent back to the kitchen to be thrown away because the food is simply badly cooked. Many deserts were simply put up the next day and were below par. I would hope a chef, properly trained would be proud of the food he serves. I am afraid, if he was, something is wrong. I say this for the improvement of the hotel and its attraction for future customers and not to be unkind but the facts must be faced. Some dishes were re-hashed for breakfast (which is per se not a problem) but the same dry rice was part of the re-hashed dish. Secondly the wifi downstairs near reception and in 1 or 2 places was good but in the rooms was intermittent, weak and close to useless. The fact it is free is not really the issue. Most people will NOT book an hotel without free wifi, and do take the time to read how good it is or is not. It is a standard nowadays so get it right first time."
