Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve
"An EXCEPTIONAL experience all around!! The accommodations were comfortable, elegant and immaculately clean. Michael, our safari guide, was friendly, fun and incredibly knowledgeable, resulting in an amazing safari experience seeing the Big 5 as well as many other animals. And when we were on our bush walk, he even talked down a bull elephant who charged us – EPIC! The food was outstanding both at the facility and on safaris. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Leopard Hills for a superb safari experience!"
Xanatseni Private Camp
"A top-class private game resort with an intimate, friendly and welcoming atmosphere and excellent game viewing. The staff is remarkable. Rangers (especially Dean) are not only professional and highly knowledgeable, they are also wonderful, cultured persons you enjoy spending time with. Easy and friendly connection with other guests. Excellent food and service. The Frenchie and the Spanish will be back ! "
Honeyguide Tented Safari Camp - Khoka Moya
"Overall, it was a great experience. The staff were mature and enthusiastic, and we had two private camp safaris daily, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, which were very well-organized. My only minor feedback is that the driver's knowledge of animal locations could be improved, as one entire afternoon safari was spent mostly observing birds. The hotel's three meals were very substantial. I would definitely choose this place again if I visit South Africa in the future."
Kruger Shalati - Train on the Bridge & Garden Suites
"The entrance is a bit hidden and not easy to find, but the staff at the train restaurant were very kind and took me there. The location is truly superb; you can see many animals from the bridge. The guide and staff were very nice; highly recommended."
Motswari Private Game Reserve by Newmark
"What an amazing time we had at Motswari Lodge! We stayed in two bungalows overlooking the river. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable and it was a real pleasure to sit on our terrace watching the river. We saw crocodiles in the river and some impala came right up to the terrace! Our guide and tracker were Noel and Patrick and they felt like family! They were determined we would see a rhino before we left and Noel drove long distances so we could find one. We were so thrilled when we did. We were lucky to see all the Big Five plus lots of other animals. In fact all the staff were lovely and super helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, with lots of salads at lunch and a three course meal in the evenings. On our last night dinner was served alongside the river and it felt quite magical. We also had breakfast in the bush one morning and sun -downers overlooking a lake in the evening. It was a holiday we will never forget!"
Hamiltons Tented Camp
"From the moment we were served cold hand towels and mint tea when we arrived at Hamiltons to the African farewell song and dance by the staff, our family of 8 was awestruck by the beauty, serenity and luxury of the camp...both the surroundings and the staff. We started with a safety orientation like no other and within an hour we were on our first safari seeing animals we had only dreamed about walking within yards of the vehicle. Our meals were incredibly well prepared by an on-premise chef with wonderful selections to choose from. Breakfasts after our morning safaris were especially delicious...probably because we were up at 5am. The friendliness and service provided by all the staff members only added to the wonderful experience we all will remember for the rest of our lives."
Elephant Plains Game Lodge
Leopard Sands, Kruger Park
"Overall the experience was absolutely fantastic! The whole staff was so attentive and made the trip seamless. From included pick up to included drop. The rooms were great, and spacious. House keeping kepts rooms spotless and the laundry service for small amount was a great touch. Our drivers for both the safaris (Treaty) and excursions (Siya) were so knowledgeable plus welcoming! Cossy for dinning was so attentive and always so friendly. Ask for her when you do make it there! We ended up booking two massages because they were both absolutely amazing! Ecellent and Sammy both gave great massages and will miss them when I return to the USA. The whole experience is worth it, and I’ll be a repeat customer when I return to Skukuza!"
Blyde Canyon, A Forever Resort
"Our stay was in one of the fully equipped chalets, which provided everything necessary for a comfortable self-catering experience. While the accommodation was well-appointed, it felt somewhat expensive relative to the overall offering. For visitors primarily interested in sightseeing and using the chalet mainly as a place to sleep, there are more cost-effective options available in and around Graskop. A key advantage of staying at Blyde Forever Resort is its close proximity to several major attractions. These include the Three Rondavels viewpoint, which is an absolute highlight with truly breathtaking scenery, as well as Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Berlin Falls, Lisbon Falls, God’s Window, and the Pinnacle Rock. The resort also offers a variety of excellent hiking trails, featuring beautiful streams, waterfalls, and stunning viewpoints, making it an appealing choice for nature enthusiasts."

Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge
"We had the most amazing stay at Hoyo Hoyo, the staff were all amazing, the game drives very knowledgeable & the food was truly scrummy! "
Klaserie Drift Misava
"We stayed at Misava Bush Lodge from 28 February to 4 March. The meals were, without exception, very good and the rooms were well serviced and very comfortable. Brenda and her team pulled out all the stops to make our stay memorable. We could name them but this is not necessary as there were no exceptions...all were incredibly welcoming and paid attention to the smallest request. A big thank you and we can't wait for our next visit later this year. Peter, Pat and Amy Calitz."
Tintswalo Safari
"Unforgettable and magical experience. Delicious food and wines, immaculate property, were able to see many animals on safaris with knowledgeable guides, every day new surprises - every day we kept asking ourselves how can it get better? And it just does. Highly recommend. "
Jock Safari Lodge
Summerfields Rose Retreat and Spa
"We stayed one night on our way to the Panorama trail and loved it. The property is in a wonderful location by a river with an excellent restaurant. We stayed in the Forest Room which was new and beautiful."
Bambuu Lakeside Lodge
"The place was breathtaking, from the entrance to reception and rooms. The place is very clean. I love the dining arrangement on the lake deck"
Simbavati Camp George
"Excellent accommodations, staff and game drives. Beautiful property. Joe was an excellent guide, very dedicated."
Mount High Luxury Country Estate
" Only a few hours East from Jo’burg you find this beautiful relaxed spot. A perfect stop on your way to Kruger or Panorama route. The hosts are warm, friendly and experienced. The house and rooms are nice decorated. The beds and climate are good; you will experience a good nights rest. On the evening of our arrival cook Tippie prepared a delicious South African braai. The next morning there was a superb breakfast with healthy ingrediënts. Single/ couple/ family: we would recommend a stay at Mount High Luxury Country lodge on your South Africa trip. Consider it a gift to yourself!"
Simbavati Waterside
"Our family of 5 had the pleasure of staying at Simbavati Waterside in August. Wow what an experience! It truly was a trip of a lifetime. We have travelled to many memorable places around the world, but this place will stay in our hearts always. Even our 3 teenagers were impressed and mesmerized by all we saw. The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond. Those that we interacted with the most were our butler Suze, Herbert our tracker and Julian our safari guide. However, the rest of the staff from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the chef were all incredible. We loved that we were able to have just our family in the truck each day. Julian entertained us all with his stories and knowledge of the animals and the savannah. We were incredibly lucky that Herbert and Julian found sightings that we never expected to see - lions mating, rhinos play fighting, a leopard eating their kill in a tree, wild dogs and hyenas squaring off, baby lions playing, a beautiful cheetah and much more. We really loved going in the winter. There were no bugs and the temperature was perfect. We layered in the morning, but after a couple of hours we were all comfortable in t-shirts. It was also easier to spot animals with the trees and bushes being more bare. The food was fantastic! Everything was perfectly prepared from the breakfast and lunch to the special dinners. We enjoyed sitting by the boma at dinner - the staff even sang happy birthday to my husband - what an experience! Our kids favourite meal was the BBQ buffet night - they loved the variety. We saw some sort of animal at the watering hole every day. We would just sit and watch in amazement at the hippos, elephants and impalas doing their thing :) We would like to thank the Waterside Simbavati staff for a trip of a lifetime!! We hope to return one day."
Sabie River Bush Lodge
"All the meals were TERRIBLE. We did a guided drive of 2000 ZAR for two of us was badly done- guide kept stalling the car and didn’t speak English well. Location is okay, nice views of river and hippos. Very basic in many ways."
Shishangeni Lodge, Kruger National Park
"We went on our honeymoon this year. The safari rides were amazing. We saw cheetahs, lions, and many birds of prey."
Timamoon Lodge
"Awesome stay, very private. Very good, friendly and attentative staff. Beautifull surroundings with lots of birdlife, especially the peacocks. Good quality, excellent food. Perfect place to spend time with that special women in your life."
Simbavati Hilltop Lodge
"The view and location of this lodge are first class, plenty of animals outside the perimeter fence, in the river below and many inside too. We liked the "glamping" tent accommodation each with its own pool, every amenity was included. The lodge was always immaculately clean. A suggestion is to put a part roof over the outdoor shower area so when raining you do not tramp wet feet between the bedroom and bathroom area. Another suggestion is to place a wire fence on both sides of the walkways to the rooms to protect from any animals inside the compound. Currently the staff walk you to you accommodation during dark, a few more walkway lights would help too. Food and beverage were good. We were not at all happy with our butler who provided very average service, even to the point of ignoring us at times. We are not a demanding couple, so poor was his service we did not tip him, maybe he was nearing the end of his shift at the camp. Staffing generally seemed they needed a little more organization. On a positive note the game drives were good and we saw a large variety of animals. We were concerned however when our vehicle driver was very enthusiastic getting to animals by driving over small trees and bushes to obtain a better view. Overall a great game park let down by some of the staff. We stayed at two additional game parks and basically could not fault them."
Lion Sands - Tinga Lodge
"Lion Sands Tinga is an excellent lodge in a most attractive setting. The accommodation is spacious with all the deluxe amenities. The food is excellent and the staff welcoming, professional, and most capable. The highlight of our stay was having Aaron as our ranger and his marvelous tracker whose name I unfortunately forget . Our tracker was also outstanding. Aaron has a wonderful personality and is extremely well-educated. His knowledge of the flora and fauna were superb. The highlight of our game-viewing experience was seeing lions devour an already dead elephant. This was at first shocking but also fascinating. Ethel does a marvelous job as does Mr. T. Thank you to all of you for making our stay so wonderful. My only suggestion is that the lodge could use a make over. If this lodge were redecorated, it would rank among the best in Sabi Sands."
SleepOver Orpen Gate
"Comfortable, clean, everything we need for a quick sleepover before our holiday in the Kruger. Very close to Orpen gate. We will come again!"
Simbavati River Lodge
"Going on a safari has been a dream vacation and bucket list item for me. I’m in my 70’s so it was a priority to make this happen soon. I was thrilled when my daughter, son-in-law, and two grandsons (11 and 14) wanted to join me. It was an amazing trip and the entire experience at the Simbavati River Lidge was exceptionall. "
Thaba Tsweni Lodge & Safaris
"Nice place but cold in winter and no backup for loadshedding. You have to provide your own wood and firelighters for the fire place. Ther's only 1 plate to cook on gaz in the kitchen in case of loadshedding (which happens a lot!). Overall a nice and clean cottage with comfortable beds. We didn't see the owner and the manager was friendly but not really welcoming. a bit mor information about the location or neighbourhood or loadshedding hours would have been helpfull."
