The Huntingdon
"Beautiful B&B right in the centre of Dumfries. Excellent access to many amenities and a two minute walk to the train station. Despite its location the Huntingdon offers a great night's sleep. My room (the annex) was spacious and stylishly decorated, with all the necessary facilities. It was immaculately clean. One minor grump was the lack of shelf in the shower - trying to pick up shampoo from the floor is difficult mid shower. Breakfast was very good quality, and the poached eggs superb. Would thoroughly recommend this B&B."
Holiday Inn DUMFRIES by IHG
"Facilities are great, location is a bit far from the center but a nice walk or short taxi ride fixes everything... staff were helpful"
Cavens Country House, Dinner Inclusive!
"We had the pleasure of a two night stay in this beautiful country house. We had a warm welcome from Angus, our host, who showed us the guest areas of the house before taking us to see our room. The room, Criffel, was absolutely huge, and very comfortable in a faded grandeur country house style. It is very much not about modern swish high tech styling but if you, like us, prefer something a bit quirky, comfortable, relaxing and unique you will love Cavens. After pre dinner drinks in the lounge in front of the fire, evening meals were delicious- not over the top frills and flounces- just simple good ingredients cooked and presented well (Angus appears to be a very competent sauce wizard!) We enjoyed exploring the local area and were very happy we had booked our stay at Cavens."
Friars Carse Country House Hotel
"Facilities: old Hygiene: average Environment: An isolated place, a good place for the elderly to gather and retire Service: The front desk manager's service attitude was not good. He was not satisfied with the two room arrangements. The first time was a side room with only half a large window. The second time was a smaller room after communication with Ctrip. The suitcase was opened and there was nowhere to put it. 😭 The advantage is that the breakfast is Scottish 😌."
Aberdour Guest House
"Good Good"
The Hill Hotel
"Beautiful and thoughtful accommodations, everything was thoughtful and elegant. The breakfast was excellent with great banter from the owner (Lynn). Will def recommend to anyone visiting Dumfries<3"
Premier Inn Dumfries
"Lovely hotel, just stayed for two night and was very pleasant. Breakfast was delicious and Angela was so lovely!"
Travelodge Dumfries
"The hotel is one of there older ones and tired long over due for a refurb but the staff make you so welcome. very easy to get to Dumfries town There is only breakfast on the go but there is Greggs Starbucks and a shell garage that do fiood. There is no bar, so basic"
Hetland Hall Hotel
"In terms of the hotel alone, it is very average. You need to go through a rural road to get off the highway. It is very boring to walk at night. For a time, I felt that I had gone to the wrong place. However, luckily, the wheel was punctured when I was approaching the hotel. The British rescued me. It was so bad that I insisted on driving the car to the hotel parking lot. Reception helped contact the car rental company. It was really great. I recorded all the conversation with a pen. I was afraid that I couldn't understand it and even asked me to use Google Translate. This is The best service I have encountered in the whole UK. Unfortunately, the car rental company was so bad. The front desk helped us delay check-out the next day. Overall, it was an excellent hotel experience. Highly recommended!"
