"We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel was great. Both the reception staff and the service (maître Giuseppe), everyone was equally nice and helpful. The room was fine, the pool was great. The weather had been bad so the pool water was only 18 degrees.... The breakfast and dinner were absolutely great! The boat excursion from the hotel (order a lunch box!) to the Spiaggias is recommended... A visit to the Grotta di Ispinigoli (caves) is also very worthwhile."

"Hotel La Conchiglia – Cala Gonone, Sardinia REVIEW TITLE: The best hotel - the best room - in Cala Gonone OVERALL RATING: Great. Absolute seafront corner 2nd floor room with jacuzzi on room balcony in Cala Gonone. I saw no other property of this level of remodel and locale and view - the jacuzzi was a special bonus. REVIEWER BACKGROUND: Fortunate to travel extensively. I have done travel advising for years. We are always looking for that “magic stay” and we found it certainly at Hotel La Conchiglia. DATES OF STAY: 2 nights in September 2026 ROOM/S: We were in one of only 2 Deluxe Seaview Rooms with Terrace with Jacuzzi. These 2 rooms are the entire front of the hotel on the second floor - looking at the sea to the left front corner is room 122 and to the right front corner is room 124 (ours). The hotel is fully renovated in what I would call white and blue “beach chic”. LOCATION: Immediately seafront in Cala Gonone, to the right side of the many center town piers. Most hotels do not have parking in Cala Gonone - Hotel La Conchiglia likewise does not have parking. Carefully sought street parking is the option. VIEW: Stunning scenery directly of the ocean on the other side of a lightly traveled road. View to the right is of the coastline and to the left is of the small Cala Gonone harbor. BREAKFAST: Included in our room rate. Good small hot and cold buffet selections. One unusual item was pizza for breakfast. The bonus is that you can eat that breakfast immediately across the street at the hotel’s waterfront palapas umbrella topped restaurant tables. Truly stunning day or night. FOOD/DRINK: There is a mini fridge in each room. The hotel does have an onsite restaurant with an extensive menu. It is very popular particularly due to the aforementioned palapas umbrella topped seafront tables. STAFF: Universally wonderful staff. NOISE: None of note. The property is remodeled and very quiet even though a street passes between the hotel and the ocean. UNUSUAL TOUCHES: Only hotel we stayed at during our 2 weeks in Sardinia with Smart TV selections."

"The hotel is very nice, with an attractive pool, beautiful, spacious rooms with balconies or terraces, and a good breakfast. However, I wouldn't book this hotel again because there's horrendous music blaring every evening from the neighboring hotel or a club. Sleep was impossible until after midnight. I find it incomprehensible that this is allowed."

The hotel is set in a beautiful, peaceful location with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, making it a perfect place to relax after a busy day. Everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. Organizing accommodation for a large film crew is never easy, but Massimiliano and his team handled everything flawlessly and made us feel genuinely welcome from the very first day. The breakfast and dinners were delicious, with excellent local cuisine and plenty of choice. Every detail reflected the care and passion of the people working here. We are sincerely grateful for such a wonderful experience and would happily stay here again. Whether you’re visiting Sardinia for business, an active holiday, or simply to relax, Hotel Il Querceto is an outstanding choice. Highly recommended!"

"The lady who greeted us (I guessed she was the owner) was extremely unfriendly. Because I forgot to select "having a child" when booking the hotel, she looked unhappy and said there were three of us. I explained that I hadn't noticed this requirement when booking, and that we could share a bed with the child and pay extra. I had already offered to pay for the child, but she still looked reluctant, muttering, "Of course you can share one bed with your kid..." I asked her how we could check in, and she charged me 135 euros. She kept looking unhappy and muttering throughout the entire visit, but when a foreigner next to her asked her a question, she turned around and greeted them with a smile. I suspect she has a prejudice against Chinese people. 3000 RMB per night, zero service, and a consistently unfriendly attitude. When checking out, I asked her where to catch the bus back to the airport (there's only one bus from town back to Olbja, running four times a day). She actually said she didn't know, which was unbelievable! How could a hotel owner not know such important travel information? Fine, if she didn't know, she didn't know, but she kept muttering that there were only two stops… After checking out, we strolled along the beach for a while and sat on some lounge chairs and parasols with the hotel's name on them. She then told us that we needed to make a reservation to sit there, specifically emphasizing that we could continue sitting there now but we would need to pay. I told her I was leaving Calagone soon, and she still had a long face, standing there staring at us with a discriminatory expression. So I don't know if the parasols are charged for all hotel guests or what. In short, a very unpleasant experience. I suggest Ctrip remove this hotel from its Chinese website."

"Everything was lovely. Modern, clean. No view. There was an issue with the. power going out around 2am (during summer) so emergency light switched on in the room and the air conditioning switched off for approx. 1-2hrs."
