Boutique Hotel R Palazzo ★★★★
"Lovely views across the lake and modern stylish hotel that sits right on a very busy road that goes broom broom beep beep 24/7. Music blares all day in communal areas to try and drown it out! Hotel clean but drinks priced like central London! Breakfast was the same every day and hot option was omelettes and poached eggs apart from one day when they couldn’t do poached eggs! Croissants were burned on a few occasions and one day they ran out! Not what you’d expect for the price. Coffee was delicious though so every cloud…. Location is fine if you want to be on a road near nothing and nobody! The old town is a good 50 minute walk away and you have to navigate the busy road to get down to waters edge and then walk along which is lovely but you are a good 20 minutes to a restaurant/shop. We used taxis alot!! Hotel does not provide food between 1030-3 pm so no choice but to go or starve given limited breakfast! We ate one night in the hotel and the evening meal was delicious so that is a positive option. The staff were lovely, pleasant and helpful and did turn down the music when requested but unable to resolve the basics like burnt croissants and no poached eggs but omelette still available!! Not worth the money I’m sorry to say."
Huma Kotor Bay Hotel and Villas ★★★★★
"The room was spacious and well-appointed, with a lovely view overlooking the pool and out toward the sea. We particularly enjoyed spending time in the spa area, and the breakfast each morning was fresh and tasty. The location is about a 40-minute walk to Kotor Old Town, which we didn’t mind at all as the scenic coastal views along the way made it an enjoyable stroll. One aspect that detracted from our experience, however, was the inconsistency in staff hospitality. While several team members were kind, welcoming, and helpful, the initial check-in experience was disappointing. The staff member who check us in came across as unfriendly, and another interaction included an abrupt comment along the lines of “you get what you pay for,” which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. Given that similar feedback appears in other reviews, it may be worth reinforcing customer service training to ensure a consistently welcoming and respectful experience for all guests. With more consistent service, this could easily be a standout stay."
Filip Deluxe Rooms ★★★
"The room was pleasant, with a beautiful view from the balcony. The shower was awkward to use, with no shelf for toiletries. Breakfast was standard European fare: boiled eggs, cheese, sausage, vegetables, delicious melon and watermelon, and so on. The hotel was fairly close to the beach."
Hotel Forza Mare ★★★★★
"Lovely boutique hotel in a beautiful spot overlooking the bay. All the staff were wonderful and went out of their way with a special shout out to Alexander and Daniel who made our stay very special. We stayed in Dubai room which was spacious with stunning views from the balcony. Would highly recommend this hotel."
Boutique Hotel Casa del Mare - Vizura ★★★★
"It's got lots right. But there's room for improvement. 1 star knocked off for the rude management and 1 star knocked off for the poor evening food. Beautiful views, very comfortable bed. Great chill space, sunbeds, pool & a sauna. Never had a problem getting a sunbed and pretty much always had the sauna to ourselves. The breakfast was delicious, varied each day, a great spread, very friendly service, a highlight of the day. The location isn't great, whilst we don't mind walking, it is set on a hill which is quite a walk up and down from the sea which means options for dinner are limited unless you want to get a taxi. At the hotel, the fish soup was delicious, but everything else we had for dinner was disappointing. The beef was overcooked, very dry and the menu noted it came with vegetables and a sauce, it came with neither. We asked for bread with the soup, and got cheap sliced white bread that you would use for toast at best. The salmon dish (22€) was completely tasteless and dry. You'd expect a lot better quality for a 4* hotel and for the prices, especially when dinner options in the area are limited. We raised the issue with the staff, as we thought the feedback was important. We are not people to complain as don't like to be negative but feel feedback is important. The staff spoke with their manager and we were told there was nothing they can do and we'd have to pay as we ate the meal (even though we didn't, we left pretty much all of it). This is when we requested to speak to the manager. Unfortunately the manager was very rude. In the end, they agreed to remove the salmon only from the bill and the manager informed us that her staff would have to pay because we were refusing to. For me, after working in hospitality management for 15 years, this was the most disappointing part. It's a real shame, that could have easily been diffused with a sincere apology and just decent managerial skills. It wasn't nice to be belittled and to be made to feel like we were in the wrong. Trust me, I'd rather avoid conflict and all costs. I would struggle to recommend staying in this hotel after this experience. The hotel staff were so friendly so it's nothing on them but it's clear that the customer's experience isn't the most important part for the manager, it's about the profits and this would worry me for other problems that might arise for people."
Hotel Forza Terra ★★★★★
"We had a rather unpleasant stay here early October. Were meant to stay 6 nights but checked out after 1 night after a sleepless night in a hot room without air conditioning (despite it being advertised as having it), being woken by slamming doors (despite being advertised as soundproof) as well as vomiting after gaining food poisoning from the complementary watermelon in our room on check in. When the bags were brought to the room I enquired about how to cool the room down and she suggested the quickest way was turning it off and opening the doors to the belcony. When it came time to close the doors up for the night the room was still hot so went down to reception to enquire again which was when I was told from 1 October they turn off the air-conditioning and switch to heating! Had we known this we would have never booked this accommodation. The next day when checking out the manager had no sympathy for our situation saying he was suprised about the temperature as no one else had complained and that they switch to heating for efficiency reasons. Why in a 5 star hotel can't I have cooling while the next room have heating, it seems crazy to me and came across as money hungry. The charged us the full 6 nights for only staying 1. While I can't prove that the hotel gave me food poisoning I am certain it did as my husband and I ate the same things that day (which were cooked) except for the watermelon which only I ate and I was the only one vomiting of the two of us. Oh and beware you are not allowed to bring in outside food or drink to your room. If they catch you they will charge you an extra night so you can't even enjoy your view on the balcony with a glass of wine unless you want to pay their exorbitant prices of the mini bar. I've never heard of such thing and again just shows to me that they were money hungry. There is nothing to tell you this until you read the book in the room. Wish I'd taken a photo"
