I have been serviced by Pullman Hotel in Dali for 2 nights. I am very impressed by the service of the staff, especially Mr. Edison.
On the day I arrived, my luggage was broken. He was able to advise me where I could buy a new one, and he also took care of my luggage and brought it to my room when the room was ready. He always informed me and took good care of me.
The other staffs were also very helpful. They are able to communicate with me well, and provided other services, such as breakfast, called a taxi to my destination, opened and shut the car's door for me. It showed a lot of care.
I was very impressed. If I come to visit here again, I will definitely choose Pullman Hotel.

I had enjoyed my stay at Dali Ancient Luchun Hotel extremely much due to the excellent service. They really weren’t lying about the Haidilao-style service.
Their front desk personnel manning the Wechat (慕雅) was extremely responsive and helpful when it came to my requests. The lobby staff were also very helpful in delivering stuff to my room and when I was carrying luggages, they ran forward and assisted me immediately.
The services at this hotel were also unique and special: warm milk delivery daily (so that you can sleep) and free pick-up to and from the Ancient City and also to the airport/railway.
Nearby (10 minutes walk) there is also street food that tastes amazing and is value for money.
Overall, I would recommend this stay to anyone who is looking for stellar service and helpful staff and I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I had the chance to visit Dali.

One of the best experience we had in a hotel. Location was about 40 minutes from Dali, and the transport was prearranged by the staff. It is a beautiful hotel with many photogenic spots overseeing the lake. So peaceful and serene. The best part is the attentive staff who took care of everything for us from start to end. Our designated housekeeper 青柠 even followed up to check on us if we made it to our destination safely. They really go above and beyond. Would love to come back again.

We were very impressed by the services rendered by the 管家 by the name of 小杜, and his team of colleagues!
He ensured that our every need was met and exceeded!
During our check-in day, there was a power outage for some parts of the Shuanglang old town, including this property. He kept apologizing sincerely even though it was no fault of his and he did everything within his abilities to ensure we are comfortable. Thank you, 小杜 and your team!
Location:
A short 2 minutes walk through the old town from the vehicle drop off point, do a right turn into an alley and you will find the amazing property sitting just on the bank of ErHai lake, with a superb view of the sunset, be it from the garden, lobby, breakfast area or the roof top.
Just before the entrance to the alley, at the main street of the old town, you could get food even at 1030pm! Certainly a 5 stars for the location!
Rooms:
Quality bath robes and slippers to keep you warm, comfortable bed to snuggle in, free minibar and snacks replaced daily, what more could we ask for?
Breakfast & Night snacks:
Breakfast was delightful and also a tasty night snack to warm your tummy before sleep! All were great!
Overall:
For the two nights of stay, we absolutely enjoyed ourselves!
Not just for the services and the clean rooms, also for the picturesque location where the architect has put in much effort to maximize the visual impact of the scenic Erhai view for all visitors! We had sooooooooo many nice photos taken at the amazing property!

In all my years of solo traveling around China and other countries, I’ve never stayed at a homestay quite as enchanting as this one. The cleanliness isn’t just limited to the rooms, the entire place is spotless.
The location is perfect for a first-time visit to Dali, just a five-minute walk from the ancient city. Since it’s outside the ancient city, it’s close enough to explore on foot while still allowing easy access to cabs. The amenities were excellent, featuring a Xiaomi smart room ecosystem made my stay even more comfortable.
However, what truly stood out was the service. From the moment I arrived, the 三个帅哥 and 美女 running the homestay made me feel incredibly welcome. They offered me an upgrade to the best room available, took the time to propose an itinerary based on my stay duration, introduced me to the adorable homestay pets (two dogs and a cat), and warmly invited me to spend time with them whenever I wanted (a small but meaningful gesture when you’re far from home and solo traveling).
Their hospitality extended beyond just conversations and recommendations. As the weather turned cold during my stay, they prepared ginger soup one evening for the guests, which seemed to me a very thoughtful touch. They also offer afternoon tea with waffles, fruit, and flower pastries until 5pm.
I’m super grateful for their kindness and service, and I really hope to return in the future :)

Love the hotel, this hotel is so clean when i tried to wipe the surfaces I needed to touch in the room. Service is super good and ALL the staffs are very friendly and helpful. They can bring the breakfast to your room, at night provides warm milk. Really love everything here in this hotel, scenery is also the best.

MMimi_Wang1This was our only homestay-style hotel during the entire trip. It’s as good as some other well known 5 star hotels. I’m pretty happy about it! The entire hotel gives off a very warm and homey feel.
Our room is new and clean. The bed is extremely comfortable!!! I also love the Le Labo shower products!
The service is good and feel very personal. Staff are friendly and helpful! There’s no coffee in the room but staff will make you coffee and bring it to you upon request. And many other things they will help you.
The location is convincing yet very quiet it’s also reachable by car.
One downside is that the room is a little small and lacks storage and surfaces to put things on. My friend and I are on a 1-month hiking trip, so we had a lot of things. Space is probably okay with people with fewer things.

GGuest UserI was so dizzy! The housekeeper added WeChat many days in advance to remind me, which was very considerate. The location of the homestay is very good, halfway up the mountain, very close to March Street, and about 10 yuan by taxi from the South Gate and North Gate of Dali Ancient Town. It is easy to get a taxi and there is no traffic jam. The public rest area is great, and the boss is a tasteful person. We booked a sea view king room, and we can see the sea while lying on the bed, which is very nice. The three kittens are also very cute! I have recommended it to other friends, and I will book their place again when I come to Dali in the future~~~

We stayed one night in August (Summer).
Pillow, blanket and bed were comfortable.
Toilet was humble.
Very kind and hard working hotel owner (well dressed and handsome too). He was very communicative, we added him on WeChat and he gave us detailed instructions and picked us up at the fork road, carried our luggages and walked us to the accommodation.
The accommodation is about 10-15 minutes walk to the main road where cars are allowed to drop off. We had huge and heavy luggage. We are extremely grateful that the owner lugged our luggage to the accommodation under the hot sun for us. He upgraded our room, and helped us to book a reliable driver to lijiang. He gave us tips on where to have breakfast and rent buggy. He also helped to liaise with the driver and carried our luggage to the car!!! It's 34 degrees Celsius here at the moment. We are so so grateful. Wishing the owner great success!
Recommendation:
1. Stay on the second floor onwards (less noisy and able to see the lake better)
2. Explore the track before the sun rises above the mountain (ard 6am). Walk 700m left of accommodation to book your vehicle. This will ensure you have enough vehicles to choose from, less crowded, avoid extreme UV, cooling weather, and get to Xin di cafe at a good time for breakfast!
3. Night time order meituan to accommodation so you can enjoy the view and eat at the comfort of your place. Couldn't find good and reliable restaurants around the area.
4. Manage expectations, there are bugs near the lake. Close the window at night.

Ddeci16I cannot recommend Sunyata Homestay in Dali enough! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was more than just a place to stay—it was an experience of genuine warmth and care. The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, providing a serene escape after long days of exploring. The afternoon tea and breakfast they served were nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve stayed in multiple 4-5 star hotels across China over the past month, but the gourmet food here easily surpassed them all. Every bite was thoughtfully prepared, leaving me in awe of the flavors and quality.
The location of Sunyata Homestay is also perfect. It’s just far enough from the bustling crowds to remain peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to Dali Ancient City that it’s only a few steps away from great eateries and the heart of the ancient town. The balance is ideal for anyone seeking convenience without sacrificing tranquility.
A special shout-out to the young lady working in the coffee shop up front—her coffee is unparalleled! My husband, who is a daily coffee drinker and rarely impressed, couldn’t stop raving about her brews. It was, hands down, the best coffee we had during our travels.
The staff here deserve every bit of praise. They were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. However, what truly sets Sunyata apart is the incredible owner. My father had a bad accident in Dali on a rainy day, and I can honestly say I don’t know what I would have done without his support. Despite my limited Mandarin, he spent an entire day accompanying me to the hospital, ensuring we were well cared for and understood. The next day, he went out of his way to pick up the CT scans for us. His kindness and compassion left me speechless.
The owner’s dedication to his guests is reflected in his amazing team, all of whom go above and beyond. Without his help, I would have had to cut my trip to China short. Instead, he turned a difficult situation into one where we felt supported and cared for like family.
Sunyata Homestay is truly one of a kind, and I will forever be grateful for their hospitality. This is not just a place to stay; it’s a haven of comfort, care, and culinary delights. Thank you, Sunyata, for everything!

GGuest UserThe best small courtyard to stay in when you come to Dali. The courtyard is very beautiful and the location is excellent. It is at the south gate of Dali Ancient Town, next to the bed sheet art area. There are markets on Saturdays and Sundays. The boss is very nice and will provide some free travel guides, recommend some places to eat, and make tea for us. It was a good experience. I highly recommend it 😁😁

LLYLA LIZA GAYAOWe greatly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Its location is very convenient as it is very near Dali Railway Station and it is also convenient to visit other tourist spots from the hotel.
Upon arrival from the Dali Railway station, you can use the pedestrian overpass (with an elevator) to cross to the opposite side and walk for around 10 minutes to reach the hotel's entrance.
No one speaks English among the hotel front desk staff but they go out of their way & patiently communicate with English speaking tourists through the google translate phone software.
To go to tourist areas from the hotel is very convenient. You can ride the public bus in front of the parking lot which is located in front of the hotel. Bus 4 will bring you to the gate of the Three Pagodas of Dali & Chongsheng Temple. Bus 8 will bring you near the North Gate of Dali Ancient City. The bus fare as of Nov 2024 is 3 yuan per person.
To go to the Erhai Lake ecological corridor, you can take a taxi (which is around 10 minutes ride) from the hotel.
The hotel also provides free bottled water to their guests. Just get the bottled water in front of the table located near the elevator.
The breakfast selection is delicious. Some tourists like us are not used to eating dishes using chopsticks. I hope the hotel could also provide spoon & fork as utensils for use by foreign tourists.
The only downside of the hotel is that as smoking is allowed everywhere, one could smell cigarette smoke in the hotel lobby and corridors.
To improve air quality, it is suggested that the hotel open the front door/windows so more fresh air could come in or perhaps, they could install air purifiers to purify the air.
