"It was really pleasant stay at Yanniao Guiqiao Hidden Luxury Hotel. Rooms were very well maintained and spacious. Best view from the rooftop. Service and hospitality of the owner of the hotel (Mr Tai Chun Yang) was excellent. He informed us very well for our further itenary and tourist places. Very recommended place to stay for anyone in Dali. Thank you!!!"

"The hotel environment and facilities are really amazing. The photos are taken with the original camera, without beauty filters. In one word, beautiful! There are so many additional services, such as airport shuttle, hearty breakfast, exquisite afternoon tea, and warm goodnight drinks. The most important thing is that the front desk service brothers and sisters are very nice and considerate. The facilities in the room are also superb. The disposable bath towels are very thick coral fleece, Dyson hair dryer, home slippers, etc. Anyway, it is highly recommended and will definitely not be a disappointment!"

"Gorgeous hotel. Very elegantly designed and detailed. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast and afternoon tea are delicious. The view is stunning. We had a sunrise view from the bed, so we left the curtains open at night to let the beautiful sky wake us up in the morning. Location is perfect. One of the few properties around Lake Erhai to have direct access to the water, without being blocked by roads or promenades. There are other similar waterfront properties in the other peninsula, but Pusu is more accessible and closer to the main town. These two southern peninsulas are classy locations, far from the noisy and overly touristy parts of Shuanglang north of the ferry terminal."

"Great hotel about 20 mins ride from the busy Dali ancient city. Located in a quiet area right beside the Erhai lakeside bike/walking path. Hotel staff communicated via WeChat and was very fast to respond to all requests. Free pick up from the train station was a great perk. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities. The room view is facing the westwards mountains and not Erhai lake itself, but is still stunning as the back of the hotel overlooks a pond and farming areas. The hotels rooftop is a great place for unique photo opportunities. Hotel doesn't offer much food options besides breakfast (which was very good), but staff recommended several restaurants within walking distance that were good. There was a BBQ restaurant right beside the hotel that we enjoyed. Bike rentals are available for a reasonable price. Overall a pleasant stay!"

"The place is stunning and the people were extremely kind. Our room was so nice we spent most of our holiday inside. Every night we also received a different snack (milk and cream puffs, milk and oats, etc.) beyond the snacks (fruit and some candy) you receive every day. We also picked the breakfast option, it was very Chinese (noodles or a sandwich with fruit and other small things), but extremely delicious ( especially the noodles). Their coffee was always great and they allow for you to have the breakfast in your room if you make a request. Whenever we had a problem they would help us out and they also picked us up from the train station and dropped us off. I have a lot more to say about the place, but I lack the words. Experience it for yourself."

"Service here is great! 高高 was very helpful before we arrived and throughout our stay with different recommendations on how to get around and places to see. This is located in an area pretty central to a lot of the sites on the west side of the lake and tucked away so that you can enjoy some peace & calm. The staff is very friendly and helpful, love the breakfast and tea/coffee options!"

"I cannot recommend Sunyata Homestay in Dali enough! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was more than just a place to stay—it was an experience of genuine warmth and care. The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, providing a serene escape after long days of exploring. The afternoon tea and breakfast they served were nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve stayed in multiple 4-5 star hotels across China over the past month, but the gourmet food here easily surpassed them all. Every bite was thoughtfully prepared, leaving me in awe of the flavors and quality. The location of Sunyata Homestay is also perfect. It’s just far enough from the bustling crowds to remain peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to Dali Ancient City that it’s only a few steps away from great eateries and the heart of the ancient town. The balance is ideal for anyone seeking convenience without sacrificing tranquility. A special shout-out to the young lady working in the coffee shop up front—her coffee is unparalleled! My husband, who is a daily coffee drinker and rarely impressed, couldn’t stop raving about her brews. It was, hands down, the best coffee we had during our travels. The staff here deserve every bit of praise. They were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. However, what truly sets Sunyata apart is the incredible owner. My father had a bad accident in Dali on a rainy day, and I can honestly say I don’t know what I would have done without his support. Despite my limited Mandarin, he spent an entire day accompanying me to the hospital, ensuring we were well cared for and understood. The next day, he went out of his way to pick up the CT scans for us. His kindness and compassion left me speechless. The owner’s dedication to his guests is reflected in his amazing team, all of whom go above and beyond. Without his help, I would have had to cut my trip to China short. Instead, he turned a difficult situation into one where we felt supported and cared for like family. Sunyata Homestay is truly one of a kind, and I will forever be grateful for their hospitality. This is not just a place to stay; it’s a haven of comfort, care, and culinary delights. Thank you, Sunyata, for everything!"

"The hotel is very beautiful. I have stayed in so many hotels and I really recommend this hotel. I used to stay in hotels and have never tried homestays. I feel pretty good this time. I thought it would be noisy in the scenic area at first, but it was really quiet at night. It was so comfortable to blow the sea breeze and look at the sea view. The hotel environment is also very clean. There are jadeite all over the floor as soon as you enter the door. The boss is really extravagant. I also saw a lot of Hetian jade, which is so beautiful. The hotel room is also very large, about one or two hundred square meters, with a 270-degree sea view. It is also very clean and comfortable. The hotel is also close to the airport. The hotel also has a very considerate pick-up service. There are many convenience stores and snacks nearby. The transportation is also very convenient, and the service attitude is also very good. The hotel housekeeper Amy is very enthusiastic and considerate. She also recommended us a lot of special snacks. The taste is very good. It is a good trip. Highly recommended!"

"This is my second time in Shuanglang, and I chose this extremely cost-effective homestay. From the layout and decoration of the yard and the room to the bedding and supplies, there is no cutting corners, and the hygiene is also very good. The glass is also very clean, and you can see the scenery outside very clearly. There are many popular homestays in Dali, but many of them are just for show, and the actual hardware maintenance is very poor, and there is a big difference from the photos. The entire check-in process is also relatively complete, reflecting some of the added value that should be had at this price. The service is also really remarkable, especially the housekeeper Xiaofeng, who is really very, very appropriate, responsive and very fast. I have stayed in many five-star hotels, but their services always feel a little alienated, but Xiaofeng provides very meticulous and warm service. At the same time, there are unlimited coffee drinks and free afternoon tea in the store. After a walk in the nearby town, come and have a cup of green plum drink (really delicious!), which is the correct way to open Shuanglang."

"The B&B is located in Erhai S Bay, in a very lively area. The surrounding environment is very good, there are many restaurants, it is very convenient to eat, and it is also very beautiful and convenient to go out to check in and take pictures; the layout of the room is also very unique, with a very good view, large floor-to-ceiling windows, you can directly see Erhai Lake when you open the curtains in the morning, you can watch the sunrise from your bed, and there is a separate balcony where you can enjoy the breeze, watch the sunrise and sunset, which is very romantic, and also suitable for drinking coffee or chatting while eating skewers, but there is only one chair on the balcony, and it is not enough to sit with your companions, so you can consider adding a chair; the B&B owner is very good and the service is thoughtful. The breakfast and afternoon tea are not bad, and the lime cheese and rose tea in the store are worth recommending (in addition, there is a small stall next to the B&B that sells pomegranate juice, which is also very delicious!) Overall, this B&B is highly recommended, and I will continue to stay here next time I come!"
