Dali Indigo Hotel 🏨 Stay Review 📍 Location The hotel is just across the street from Erhai Lake. While not directly waterfront, the lobby and public areas are cleverly designed to leverage the elevation difference, framing the views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, showcasing a great design aesthetic. Though not huge, the lobby is thoughtfully designed to create beautiful visual highlights. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the stunning scenery indoors, making Erhai Lake a dynamic backdrop. The sofa area, with its low-saturation color palette and tie-dye elements, is both comfortable and photogenic. Sitting in the lobby and gazing at Erhai Lake is simply delightful.👀 The gym and swimming pool on the 11th floor offer excellent views from their viewing platform, but the pool is only 1.2 meters deep, which is too shallow for adults.🫣 🍜 Breakfast Highlights It gets busy, but staff are on hand to guide guests to their seats. The food offers a delightful blend of Chinese and Western cuisine, with some fantastic Yunnan local specialties. I highly recommend the Weishan Pa Rou Er Si (rice noodles with tender pork hock in rich broth) – the portion is substantial, almost like a main meal, and the taste is excellent!👍 Other local delights include freshly baked Rubing (Dali cheese), Xizhou Baba (a savory flatbread), and Xi Dou Fen (savory bean jelly soup). The Western pastry section has a good variety of breads; the croissants🥐 are particularly recommended!👍 Tip: Try to be seated before 8 AM to snag one of the window-side 'lake view' tables all to yourself. 🛎 Service Attitude From the concierge to the restaurant staff, everyone offered smiling service throughout our stay, which made for a very pleasant experience. They proactively helped with luggage upon arrival and departure and always greeted us warmly. 🛏 Room Experience The standard room type was decent and functional. The bathroom features a well-designed wet and dry separation. The minibar is complimentary, stocked with items like Feng Hua Xue Yue beer. As it's a high-altitude region, the room can be dry, which might be uncomfortable for allergy sufferers at first. The front desk kindly provided a humidifier, which was a thoughtful touch.🥰 The hotel offers a range of activities during the summer, which is a nice bonus.👍 🤔 Small Suggestions Since the hotel is situated right next to a main road, lower-floor rooms facing the street might experience occasional traffic noise at night, which could bother light sleepers. ‼️ There's no traffic light at the pedestrian crossing directly in front of the hotel entrance facing Erhai Lake, making crossing the road feel quite nerve-wracking every time. It would be great if they could arrange a traffic warden or crossing guard there. 🌈 We stayed for three nights, and overall, the experience was great, with five-star service.👍
