"Imagine a quiet sanctuary in a rainforest with only birdsong and the quiet scuttle of hidden creatures disturbing the silence. A 1.5h drive from Cairns Airport will land you in your own cabin in the Daintree. The small but attentive team ensures you are comfortable and their enthusiasm for the environment is clear, whether excitedly pointing out a hidden nest above the breakfast terrace or recommending the excellent food. We especially loved the full length window in the shower that gave you a private view. Bed was super comfy. Close by are two excellent ice cream makers for hot days and the hop to Cape Trib is easy and short, giving plenty of time for rainforest walks and relaxation. Staff will remind you to order dinner and breakfast ahead of time to keep service smooth. We didn’t make use of the shared hot tub but we relaxed on the sofa outside our room. Plenty of bug spray at the reception and a torchlight is provided for the boardwalk to your cabin at night. As the start to a 3 week break, it was the perfect decompression chamber to begin our trip. My first visit to the area was on a rushed day trip but do yourself a favour and stop here for a few nights. You won’t regret it."

"Super friendly host - Sally, who gave us a decent meet and greet on rooms and surrounding amenities, as well as where to visit in Daintree. She was super flexible when we had to change the check in dates due to flight change. There’s a large communal dining and entertaining area to satisfy all needs. A very jungly experience, if you love to be in the nature, fall asleep with forest ASMR, this is the place to go. Will come back next time when we visit Daintree again."

"Fantastic place to stay. Brilliant location with easy access to Cape Tribulation. Beautiful setting right in the middle of the rainforest. One of the most unique stays with the benefit of being able to hear the sounds of the rainforest right in your room. The staff were super friendly and gave really helpful advice about things to do in the area. Would highly recommend"

"Unbelievable experience, tucked in the jungle surrounded by beauty..really beautiful and accommodating owners of the property, and can see the hard work they have put in to accomplish what they have to offer, walking trails, knowledge, bird life/sounds. Not to far from Port Douglas and the reef at your feet.. Accomodation is super comfortable and shower facilities on another level.. Great holiday and kids were blown away"

"Overall happy with our stay. Nice dining area in restaurant and decent size rooms. Food a bit on the pricey end but given the location, was well presented and quite accomodating. Room was good and clean, however only minor feedback is would have been appreciated if all windows were not left open as it took ages for the room to cool given the hot humid weather."

"What a welcome and what wonderful hosts. Very friendly and informative. We appreciated a lot more of the devastation of Cyclone Jasper listening to them. "A peaceful, relaxing stay. We enjoyed chatting and comparing our overseas experiences with the owners, Greg and his wife Lisa. Our meals were straightforward homecooked food, more than adequate serves. The fruit salad at breakfast was freshly made using some of the fruits from their garden. The chalets are comfortable, good sized with a comfortable bed. Air-conditioning is available but we didn't need it in late September/early October as the as the windows provided good ventilation. Despite the setbacks of Covid and cyclones our hosts provide a good ecologically aware service. Wifi was also excellent. We would be happy to stay again. Thanks for the stay"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at Matt’s place. Our large room with bathroom and its own porch was great. The communal areas on the front of the home for dinning and relaxing were great for interacting with other guests as was breakfast which included generous platters of tropical fruit, cereals, toast, tea and coffee. The kitchen suitable for cooking meals has a shared fridge freezer. The front terrace was a favourite for a beer in the afternoon warmth watching the sunset. Matt was a great host, really made us feel welcome and had lots of advice in regards where to go and what to see. Thanks for having us."
